Dear Jon,
Academics are important at Whitman College. Our faculty offer challenging courses that will push you to be your very best.
But we also offer many opportunities for international students to learn outside the classroom, including: - Participate in research with faculty. Many students co-author papers published in academic journals and contribute new knowledge to their fields. Each year, the daylong Undergraduate Conference showcases student research and scholarship.
- Receive a paid internship through the Whitman Internship Grant and explore potential careers.
- Give back to your new community through student-led volunteer programs— mentor children in local schools, work for nonprofits or build relationships with seniors or developmentally disabled adults.
- Pursue your passions or learn something new by joining one of our student clubs or intramural sports teams.
- International students can also study abroad at Whitman! You can participate in more than 85 programs in 45 countries through the Off-Campus Studies program.
Learn more about Whitman and see deadlines and application information for international students on our website, or email international@whitman.edu.
