MEET MR. AND MRS. CLAUS OF THE MORAVIAN COOKIE
One of Winston-Salem''s favorite holiday treats is the world-famous Moravian cookie. You could call us biased since we bake more than a million pounds of this cookie dough every year, or you can just take it from the Oprah Winfrey herself, who named Mrs. Hanes'' Moravian Cookies as one of her holiday favorites. These are not just any Moravian cookie...we''re talking about the kind that''s hand-rolled, hand-cut, and hand packaged by what some people call "artists in aprons," but we''re not so sure that they aren''t really Santa''s elves!

PAUL J. CIENER BOTANICAL GARDENS
HOLIDAY TULIP LIGHT DISPLAY
Even in the height of winter, the gardens at Paul J. Ciener Botanical Gardens (PJCBG) are in full bloom.
Already beloved for their spring display of 20,000 tulip bulbs - one of the largest in the region - PJCBG lights up with an equally stunning display of lit tulips during the holiday season.
But wait! A tulip display in winter!?? Well, each bloom is actually handcrafted from recycled plastic bottles, each one radiating holiday cheer. Don your jacket and mittens and enjoy a holiday stroll through the dazzling wisteria lights and illuminated trees along the patio terrace.
