We live in extraordinary times and as the severity and impact of COVID-19 has increased and countries around the world are trying to manage the pandemic, we wanted to update our community so you can be informed about our plans to help prevent the spread of this virus and support the health and well being of our customers, employees, and community.
Taking Care of our Team:
The health and safety of our staff is extremely important, and as of 2 weeks ago, we instituted a 100% work from home program for all office staff around the world, and already support our staff with paid sick time as a normal everyday policy should they need it. Our 3rd party fulfillment center has also instituted a series of new policies in accordance with the CDC and WHO recommendations and has significantly increased normal cleaning and disinfecting routines, and provided additional management to assist with communication and we are confident that they are taking this situation very seriously and maintaining the facilities to the highest standards possible.
Shipping and Logistics:
Underwear Expert ships to over 100 countries each month and with a global distribution network such as ours, it is inevitable that there will be shipping delays. Currently, we have outbound shipping delays to customers in China and Italy and we expect that to increase as countries determine how to best handle the specific issues that they face and shipping carriers struggle to meet the increased demand for online shopping. We are doing our best to accommodate the current situation but we ask that you please be patient with us as we may have inventory shortages, or have outbound delays due to staffing, shipping, or legislation put in place that is out of our control. We have also been in touch with all of our shipping vendors who have increased steps to ensure the safety of all parties involved in the shipping and logistics process.
According to the CDC, it is safe to receive shipments as the likelihood of an infected person contaminating commercial goods is low and the risk of catching the virus that causes COVID-19 from a package that has been moved, traveled, and exposed to different conditions and temperatures is also very low. As many of us learn to work from home and have altered our daily lives, ordering online is even more important and we believe this is a safe process.
Navigating this situation is going to require us to help take care of each other, and follow the best practices that are recommended and we want you to be comfortable with our handling of this manner, just as we want you to be comfortable in the underwear we ship to you.
Small businesses will be among the hardest hit during this global crisis and we appreciate your support and loyalty and we are here with you for the long term. We will provide updates as needed and please stay safe, wash your hands, and stay informed.
