My organization AEJGNI was formed under the aegis of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) under the Regional Leadership Center (RLC) of East Africa in Nairobi Kenya.�

Dear Shantideep,

I am happy to be added to this group so I like to introduce myself to the group.

I am Joshua Konkankoh founder of Better World Cameroon founded in 1996 http://www.betterworld-cameroon.com and founder of Bafut Ecovillage.

I first came in contact with Bob and Enabling Support Foundation in 2012 and used the concept to establish a community garden for vulnerable children and students in the slums of Yaounde, the capital city of Cameroun.

In 2013 we moved from urban regeneration to rural community development using Permaculture to transition villages to resilience. Unfortunately, the government declared war on the English speaking part of the country and the military junta of the Francophone government moved in and evicted us from our ecovillage. Corpses everywhere, internet cut, villages burnt, all youth in mass graves, prisons in forests or in refugee camps in Nigeria. Suddenly 6 of my team members including myself had to leave home with nothing and escaped the violence by a hair's breadth. We are lucky to have friends in Tamera Ecovillage southern Portugal who came to our rescue.

Her we have taken some time since the beginning of last year to get over our trauma and try to redefine ourselves to face the crisis in a positive way by organizing a Cameroon symposium. During the symposium, we will be presenting the Cameroon situation to the western mindset who have decided to look the other way while the second genocide is happening in Africa.

In this vision, we will be taking regenerative education of Ambaznia to the next level through the principles of Gaia education as the implementation action of our SDGs engagement for Africa.

Hopefully, through your group we can bring our voice into the world and support the refugees and IDPs through non-violence strategies.

New York City schools are closed. They are planning to use distance learning and they have at least 300,000 without computer or Internet.

But they will continue.

And with a little bit of help from the ESF Cloud it will continue in Africa.

I want to propose some strategies available. We start with Reading and Writing in One Easy Lesson. I have attached a copy.

We have video showing that the children can learn 5 words with just one trial. It is no longer necessary to teach new words by endless repetition. Now teach the student the new words by reading and writing sentences.

Stop and think. If a child understands what you say, they can understand what they read.

Lesson from the Cloud

Environment.

An expert on weather writes an essay on what a child should know at a certain age.

The teacher takes that and puts it into age appropriate form and selects the new vocabulary that will be taught and they discuss it in class

They write what they learned in their own words.

Is there a smart phone the child can use at home?

Yes.

Bring all parents to a meeting where they will learn the basics of Early Reading and they will then be responsible to teach their children. New lessons can come by phone

No

Do the same thing but give them printed copy for home.

This can teach learning to read and reading to learn. We try and match the MOE requirements.

If there are PCs available, we have a STEM program ready to go.

This is a tool that we can use in this crisis and maybe beyond.

We do not need a building. We need to communicate.

We want to get as many sites as possible. We need to reach everywhere.

Bernard Benyah from the Kirc Foundation in Ghana has brought my attention to a funding opportunity from the United Arab Emirates on Education.

I plan to submit a proposal to spread Education 21 throughout the world and support the emerging Student of the 21st Century.

The plan is simple we start with the existing Peace Flame network and show its scope, accomplishments, and growth. Without funding. With funding, the world.

All of you are Peace Flame and I want to include all of you in the proposal. I cannot do it alone. You have a part to play.

Inclusion in the proposal will depend on completion of an online form and the submission of a budget outline. Broad categories: Salary, equipment, transportation....

Do not include new buildings in this proposal. Every site will get computers, and Internet for a year. There is the potential of 100 schools involved, so keep the budget tight.

I will combine these data into the 3 or 4 page concept note they want by June or July.

To clarify, the form at www.enabling.org/peaceflame is a new form for the grant. Any previous registration is NOT the form needed to participate. So far only 2 have registered with the new form which asks for the number of children and an outline of your budget.
