Your December tinnitus research update

This month, we''re delighted to announce the first recipient of ?125,000 through our 2020/21 large research grant funding programme. We''ll be announcing the second successful research project in early 2021. 

Tinnitus research is dramatically underfunded and we're committed to funding, supporting and lobbying for what's needed to silence tinnitus once and for all.

Your autumn tinnitus research update

We''re really excited to be holding our first ever virtual conference for professionals working in the tinnitus field next week. The five-day event offers the opportunity to hear from leading clinicians and researchers presenting from around the world, develop learning and skills in order to better support people living with tinnitus, and to find out about the latest developments in tinnitus research.

We''re also pleased to share two important new tinnitus research studies and details of how we''re trying to bring the research community together.

As coronavirus continues to impact people across the UK and globally, we wanted to reassure you about the approach we're taking to continue to support you during this period.

Our staff have constant access to our systems, including when working remotely, meaning we can continue to provide confidential tinnitus support throughout this period.
 
We have taken the decision to advise our network of independent tinnitus support groups to cancel meetings up to the end of May, and will be postponing our professional courses scheduled for April and May. We will be contacting groups and course attendees independently with further information.
 
As always, we remain committed to supporting you during this uncertain and challenging time.

Covid, the BTA & you

Whether you're experiencing tinnitus for the first time or the current challenges are making it worse, we're here to help.

Our Tinnitus Support Team are still taking calls, texts, web chats and emails but we''ve also been working hard to adapt and make sure that there''s additional support available, including Online Support Groups, for people with tinnitus throughout these challenging times.

Our tinnitus petition has attracted over 100,000 signatures in one month!

Thank you so much for your support so far in urging the Government to commit more funding to tinnitus research.

If you haven''t signed and shared the petition on your social media channels yet please do so more people see it.
