The Russian National Ballet: Swan Lake
LIVE at The Carolina Opry Theater
on February 23, 2020!

The Russian National Ballet Theatre was founded in Moscow during the transitional period of Perestroika in the late 1980s, when many of the great dancers and choreographers of the Soviet Union�s ballet institutions were exercising their new-found creative freedom by starting new, vibrant companies dedicated not only to the timeless tradition of classical Russian Ballet but to invigorate this tradition as the Russians began to accept new developments in the dance from around the world.
 
The company, then titled the Soviet National Ballet, was founded by and incorporated graduates from the great Russian choreographic schools of Moscow, St. Petersburg and Perm. The principal dancers of the company came from the upper ranks of the great ballet companies and academies of Russia, and the companies of Riga, Kiev and even Warsaw. Today, the Russian National Ballet Theatre is its own institution, with over 50 dancers of singular instruction and vast experience, many of whom have been with the company since its inception. In addition to their extensive tour history, the company began touring the United States in 2017.

Hailing from nearby Spartanburg, South Carolina, The Marshall Tucker Band were southern-rock pioneers when their self-titled album debuted in 1973. Still led today by founding member and lead singer Doug Gray, they represent a time and place in music that will never be duplicated. The secret ingredient to MTB�s ongoing success over the past five decades is a musical style that is equal parts rock, blues, jazz, country, soul, and bluegrass.

They are a powerful stage presence, pleasing old and new fans with indelible hits like the heartfelt singalong �Heard It in a Love Song,� �Searchin� for a Rainbow,� �Fire on the Mountain,� �Ramblin�,� and the signature tune �Can�t You See,� to name but a few. MTB proves that Southern rock is still alive and well.

The world�s leading Queen tribute band, Killer Queen, formed 1993, playing their first public shows at London University, where Queen had played their first shows 21 years earlier. By 1995, Killer Queen�s UK popularity had grown to such an extent that they secured a residency in London�s Strand Theatre attracting nationwide BBC coverage � the first tribute to have a show in the West End.

 
Before long, they were touring throughout the world and racking up awards; they accepted the award of �Worldwide Best Tribute Band� in 1999 at a ceremony hosted by Suggs of Madness and the �Best Concert of the Year� award in 2009 at Sweden�s Vasteras concert hall.

Killer Queen is the only tribute to have sold out the same arenas as Queen did in their heyday, such as Ahoy Stadium and the Brighton Centre, and are regulars at some of America�s most prestigious venues such as the awe-inspiring Red Rocks Arena in Colorado, where the Beatles, Springsteen and U2 have all graced the stage, and Austin City Limits.
