The 2020 SIG Benchmark Report revealed a spike in software build quality in March 2020, during the early days of the COVID-19 lockdown. Both metrics, however, returned to normal levels a month later. 

• UPDATE: New data from SIG shows no impact on code quality nor production has since followed, as both have held relatively steady through October.

• UPDATE: There is, however, still reason for organizations to exercise caution. As the well-being of developers is closely tied to software productivity, the potential physical and mental consequences of remote work cannot be ignored.
