Drivers from across North America have been competing through 7 tough rounds across the globe. It all comes down to the final round of racing!
 

What is all this about a eRace Series?

With the world starving for sports, more series and leagues have looked to the virtual world to satiate viewers. The NBA and ESPN broadcast the leading basketball game, NBA 2K. NFL and Fox looked to the broadly popular Madden title for their live telecasts. In the racing world, every major series has a virtual series with broadcasts on their usual networks. Where the NFL/NBA Esports require an understanding of the game and great reflexes, there is little crossover between skills learned in the video game and playing the real-world game. That is where racing differs - a fast sim racer has a very similar skill set to his real-world counterpart. This notion is enforced by NASCAR, INDYCAR and GT World Challenge America's ability to create exciting live races with a grid that mimics their real-world races, while NBA is using a group of top tier Esport athletes.

That brings us to the Skip Barber eRace Series. With a strong belief that there are talented drivers developing their skills on sim (much like karters), we launched the eRace Series as a driver search to find the best sim racers in North America. Our series is unique as we are looking for the everyday gamer, not the big names like NASCAR and INDYCAR's Esport offerings where drivers from their real world series take center stage - anyone can race in our series! We are back in Europe for Round 6. Autodromo Nazionale di Monza was built in in 1922 and is the worlds 3rd purpose built motors racing circuit. The 3.6 mile, 11 turn circuit is home to the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix.

Once you register, you will be able to set practice laps! All entrants receive a $200 credit to Skip Barber Racing School!

Round 4 of the Skip Barber eRace Series is live now at Silverstone! Catch the action while the top 20 Hot Lap Qualifiers battle for points to win the ultimate prize in motorsports: a season in the Skip Barber Formula Race Series.

We are back in North America for Round 5. Road Atlanta, the home of Petit Le Mans, also hosts several Skip Barber Racing School events throughout the year. Coming in at 2.54 miles, this 12 turn course features iconic corners in the esses, and massive elevation change through turn 12.

Registration for the Round 5 Hot Lap Qualifier is now open. Once you register, you will be able to set practice laps! All entrants receive a $200 credit to Skip Barber Racing School!

The Hot Lap Qualifier is tomorrow, Monday June 15th from 9AM to 11PM PST.

The Ultimate Sim Racing Competition

Skip Barber Racing School is the gateway to motorsports. Our graduates have taken the podium on every level of competition throughout the world. Now that gateway is expanding to include eSports! New for the 2020 season, Skip Barber Racing School will be hosting the Skip Barber eRace Series - an 8 round Race Series where drivers will compete weekly for the ultimate prize in motorsports: a fully funded seat in the Skip Barber Formula Race Series.

Week 2 is headed to Spa

The Skip Barber eRace Series heads to Spa for Week 2. Home to the Belgium Grand Prix since 1925, this historic circuit was initially 9 miles long featuring a blend of purpose built track and local roads. In 1979 the course was shortened to 4 miles and now only uses purpose built track surface. Spa is home to one of the most infamous combinations of corners in racing: Eau Rouge and Raidillon.

This week, the fastest Hot Lap Qualifier will win a 1 Day Racing School! All Hot Lap Qualifier Entrants receive a $200 credit to Skip Barber Racing School!


Registration for the Week 2 Hot Lap Qualifier is open until Monday May 25th at 11:00PM PST. Once you are registered, the open Practice is available until the Hot Lap Qualifier opens at 9:00 AM PST on Monday, May 25th. You have until 11:00PM on Monday to set your fastest lap!

We are taking a trip back in time to a historic Skip Barber Racing School track: Bridgehampton for Round 7 of the Skip Barber eRace Series! Built in 1957, Bridgehampton was one of the first permanent road racing circuits in the United States. Host to many notable race series, Skip Barber Racing School ran both the Race Series and Racing School at Bridgehampton.

Next week, we head back to where this season began for the finale: Laguna Seca!
