If this had been a "normal" summer, we'd be in the middle of our Twilight on the Pier concert series, a 36-year-old tradition full of music, art, and comedy. Set amidst a gorgeous sunset, the smell of the ocean and a beaming ferris wheel, there would usually be thousands of fans dancing their summer away.
Alas, this was not a "normal" Pier Summer.
2020 is the first year we''ve had to skip Twilight, as well as our other beloved Spring & Summer programming, rental events, activations and promotions, posing not just a loss of art & culture community programs but hundreds of gigs for artists and event workers.

But we''re not giving up on bringing the FUN for our guests. Like most other non-profits in our space, we've had to get creative. Next week, we are excited to start welcoming Santa Monica fitness studios and instructors for classes in Pier Deck Park. We're working on providing safe, fun Halloween and Holiday activities. We're almost ready to present a first-of-its-kind, location-based, immersive digital story tour, premiering next month. But to make it all happen we need your help!
We just launched an online merch store, where you can purchase limited edition prints of every Twilight poster, dating all the way back to 1985. Take a trip down memory lane and grab one (or more!) to bring the magic of Twilight home. Your support will strengthen our ability to provide free, open to the public programming as soon as it's safe to do so. Bonus: they'll look great in your home office!

We can't wait to hear the music and dance the night away with you again. While we get our programs ready, make sure to visit our amazing, resilient restaurants and retail shops on the Pier who have gone above and beyond to provide a safe and wonderful experience.

What began as a dance experience to bring people back to the Pier after the devastating storms of '83 has become a festival almost as iconic as the destination itself. We've welcomed hundreds of artists including (ready for this list?!): Bo Diddley, Sugarhill Gang, Ozomatli, Bela Fleck, Eric Burdon & the Animals, Jefferson Starship, Clarence Clemons, Indigo Girls, Patti Smith, Trombone Shorty, Mavis Staples, Betty Who, Rostam, Fall Out Boy, Joan Baez, Haim, Best Coast, Khalid and so many more. We told you! Legendary!

Though we're not able to have the Twilight series IRL in 2020, we're reliving some of the most incredible moments and listening to past artists on repeat. You can get in on some of the Twilight @ home magic with this playlist created by our friends at Pacific Park.
And, for the first time ever, all of our series posters are ON SALE so you can literally bring some of that Twilight magic home. Every purchase helps ensure the future of our public programs so grab your merch here.

Fitness is coming BACK to the Pier!
We're getting sweaty (SAFELY!) on the Pier! Starting next week, we'll be welcoming some of Santa Monica's best studios and instructors, from yoga to boxing, for classes on Pier Deck Park. Check our website or Instagram for the schedule and details on how to sign up.
Fitness is just the beginning of the excitement to come. From an all-new way to experience the Pier and learn about our secret stories, to the un-cancelling of LA Halloween, we are hard at work to ensure safe Fall FUN at the Pier! Keep an eye on your inbox and on Instagram (@santamonicapier) for more details to come.
