Harper, thanks so much for taking a moment to read this note. Just to very quickly explain - I’m the writer/sometimes-director of films like Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill and Love Actually. I also spend my time working on Red Nose Day USA. It’s been an amazing journey with Red Nose Day - back in the UK when it started I thought it might be a one-off event - instead it’s lasted 30 years and raised over $1.5 billion. And now, as you know, it’s been brought over stateside - and in just five years, Red Nose Day USA has helped more than 16 million children living incredibly tough lives all across America and around the world. And since 2015, the extraordinary generosity of the American public has translated into really tangible things, including 40M+ life-saving vaccinations, 36M+ meals for hungry children, and shelter for 76K+ homeless teens. You are now a part of this critical journey, and I hope you’ll consider donating to Red Nose Day. Your gift will help support programs all year long.
Will you join us and help break the cycle of poverty?
Every dollar chips away at poverty - one child at a time - and while there’s still work to be done, you can see that very real progress is being made thanks to generous people like you.
We couldn’t be more grateful and thankful for your support. And we look forward to continuing our work — with you by our side.
Yours, Richard Curtis

Harper, we want to take a moment to thank you for the role you have played in helping Red Nose Day provide more than 42 million meals to children here in the U.S. and around the world. Powered by the incredible generosity of supporters like you, Red Nose Day and our partners have been working on the front lines of the fight against food insecurity. In this short film recorded earlier this year, we're excited to share how you've helped Red Nose Day and our partner organizations like Banco de Alimentos Puerto Rico - a Feeding America affiliated food bank - support families in need. Watch Now Right now, in the midst of the unprecedented crisis of COVID-19, the work of organizations like Banco de Alimentos Puerto Rico is more important than ever. Together, we are also powering meaningful, long-term solutions to address food insecurity. On an island where more than 1 in 3 children faces extreme poverty, this work is essential. We are deeply grateful to know we can count on supporters like you. And in the coming weeks, you'll have plenty more opportunities to stand with Red Nose Day to combat food insecurity in communities across the U.S., and around the world. Sincerely, The Red Nose Day Team |

Harper, Today, communities are facing an unprecedented danger with COVID-19. During a crisis such as this, we must not forget that it is the vulnerable among us who suffer the most - this is especially true for children living in poverty. The onset of COVID-19 threatens children, and the organizations supporting them, in an extraordinary way. Donate Today Our partners on the frontlines (including those listed below) are already taking immediate action to address this issue. And, they are telling us that if we do not act now, the long-term educational, economic, and health effects on children and their families will be catastrophic. An issue of particular concern is the negative impact of public school closures on low-income families. For millions, the public education system serves as a lifeline by not only providing schooling but also offering essential services such as free or reduced meals, childcare, and extracurricular/afterschool activities - all of which families must now go without. From today, and throughout our Red Nose Day campaign, we will be directing funds to address the impact of COVID-19 on children living in poverty. We understand the scale and scope of the challenge ahead because every day we support partners fighting on the ground for children in need. Support Red Nose Day today, so that we have the necessary resources to meet the continuously evolving demands of this pandemic. Make Your Gift On behalf of the Red Nose Day team and millions of children around the world who need our help now more than ever, we thank you for your unwavering support. Let's come together for the children who need us the most. Alison Moore, |

Harper, maybe you heard, the Red Nose looks a bit different this year. Donate to Unlock Your Digital Red Nose While we may be apart, we can still act together to change and save the lives of children. Supporters who make an online gift to Red Nose Day between now and May 21 will get to unlock and share a digital Red Nose on Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat - or all three! You can even tag @RedNoseDayUSA and @Walgreens with #NosesOn for a chance to be featured on the official Walgreens and Red Nose Day social media accounts. Even in its digital form, the Red Nose captures the essence of what Red Nose Day is all about: coming together to make a difference for children in need. Dear Harper, Right now, more than 85% of Americans are under official order to stay safe at home. But what about children with no place to call home in the first place? Today, COVID-19 poses an especially critical risk for children without stable homes. Donate Today Over the course of a normal year, more than 4.2 million young people in the U.S. experienced some form of homelessness - and that's prior to facing a crisis. But the "new normal" is completely different from anything we have ever experienced. With recent economic shocks, not only will that number surely rise, but the outcomes for street-connected children and young people facing homelessness across the country will be catastrophic. There has never been a more challenging time for children without homes. Harper, can you make your first gift today to help keep homeless children safe? Make Your Gift If you're a child facing homelessness, you cannot double down on handwashing or use a mask to protect yourself out in public. And every single night without safe shelter can mean the difference between life and death. During this crisis, Red Nose Day partners are rising to the challenge to care for symptomatic youth in shelters throughout the country. Right now, they're responding by turning classrooms, offices and drop-in centers into isolation units. This is the kind of innovation it takes to save the lives of extremely vulnerable children right here in our own backyards. Your support could help provide shelter, meals, and essential services for vulnerable children and young people facing homelessness. If you've ever considered giving, now is the moment. >>> As we all adjust to homebound life, I urge you to think about how COVID-19 is affecting children without homes, who were already so vulnerable. Your gift to Red Nose Day can help keep them safe. Sincerely, Lorelei Williams |

Dear Harper, 2020 has been a year unlike any other - one defined by the unpredictable, unprecedented, and unimaginable. Earlier this year, as it became clear just how much the pandemic would change the world, my mind immediately went to how the crisis would impact the children in communities Red Nose Day serves. If schools shut, how would children who rely on free and nutritious school meals get enough to eat? If the economy turned, what would happen to families already living paycheck-to-paycheck? Then, in May the Red Nose Day community stepped up beyond what I could have ever imagined. The response was incredible. Thanks to your generosity, our partners are already hard at work protecting children from the worst impacts of the crisis. Now, as the holiday season approaches, I reflect on what this time of year should look like: joy, celebration, sharing home cooked meals around the table with loved ones. Yet with food insecurity on the rise, my thoughts also turn to how the upcoming holidays will be deeply challenging for millions of families facing hunger. This is why we are proud to announce the launch of The Full Plate Project by Red Nose Day. In 2020, as many as 265 million people globally could be facing acute hunger. And in the U.S., it's estimated that up to 1 in 4 children will experience food insecurity before the year ends. That means there could be up to 18 million children living in households unable to put food on the table each day. No child can thrive on an empty stomach, and no family should ever have to choose between feeding their child, seeing the doctor, or keeping the lights on. But these are the difficult realities facing millions today. We cannot stand by as this crisis worsens. Join Us The Full Plate Project by Red Nose Day will provide meals and critical treatment for malnourished children in partnership with high-impact organizations working across the U.S. and around the world. And because food insecurity is a deep, persistent, and pervasive issue, we're also investing in long-term solutions that will strike at its roots. A holiday meal provided by The Full Plate Project means more than food for a child who might otherwise go hungry - it also represents a sense of community, comfort, and hope during a time of tremendous uncertainty. For millions, this time of year will be especially difficult, but by supporting the Full Plate Project by Red Nose Day, each of us can do our part to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families who are struggling this holiday season. Learn More I think if there''s one thing this year has shown us, it is that we must all look out for one another. In the coming weeks, I'm looking forward to sharing more about The Full Plate Project with you - from how we're teaming up with our core partners Walgreens and NBC, to bringing you powerful stories of our work providing nourishing meals and essentials for children and families urgently in need. I hope you'll stand with us. Sincerely, Alison Moore |

Hi Harper, with just a few hours left to have your donation doubled, I just wanted to make sure you saw this note from Red Nose Day's good friend Anne Hathaway. Giving Tuesday Now ends at midnight, and so does this opportunity to have your support go twice as far. Double My Gift If you're able to make a gift right now, even a small amount can make an enormous difference for Red Nose Day's partners working on the front lines of the crisis caused by COVID-19. And for the next few hours, your generosity will be matched with support from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Each day the crisis drags on, life gets harder for children facing hunger. We are already seeing long lines at food banks, and they will only get longer in the coming weeks. In the face of all this, Red Nose Day's incredible partners are working harder than ever to serve children and families in need - but we need your support today to keep up with the rising need in the coming weeks and months. Time is running out to have your donation matched 2X. We hope you'll stand with us. Sincerely, Alison Moore --------Original Message-------- From: Anne Hathaway |
