Getting started with Publitio API

Hello Jon. Here''s some help to get started with Publitio API:

1.) Get API Key & Secret

Go to Dashboard and get your keys (you need them for SDK integration). At dashboard you can upload files directly, do file transformations, make watermarks for them, even use media players (with ads support) for videos & images.

2.) Download SDK for your framework

Download SDK or Plugin for framework of your choice. If you need some specific SDK or plugin let us know by replying to this email, we will built it asap for you.

3.) Finish integration and start testing

Paste your API Key & Secret per instructions from SDK and start developing right away. If you need some guide, check the docs or read our blog.

Publishing videos with Publitio Media Player

Hello Jon. Publitio offers built-in Media Player that plays videos, audios & even images and you can use it to seamlessly publish your rich-media files across any device. Player comes unbranded (no logo on it), it is completely customisable (you can set desired skin color, various options, etc.), it has Goole IMA & VAST (video ads) support & you can easily embed it on website.

Create & Customize player

To create & customize video player for you website, please go to Create Player page on Publitio Dashboard. Player will be part of your media assets & you can use it to play & embed videos with that player setup. When creating player you will need to specify unique name (ID) of the player - all other options are predefined and optional:

Publishing videos with Publitio

If you have uploaded videos to your account, go to Publitio Dashboard and locate video you want to publish. Under the files "..." (more options) menu click on Embed/Player Codes in order to open Embed & Player codes modal dialog, where various sharing options will appear. Here you can grab sharable Embed URL, Source and Iframe formatted html codes to copy & paste into the site pages.

Embedding video via Source

Source option provides formatted HTML Video element, with predefined source elements (that''s where the name comes from) in WEBM, MP4 and OGV video format.

You can copy & paste source html code to website page and video will be played by default browser player. This is a way to embed your videos without the use of Publitio Player. You can also use just the video URL (mp4 or webm extension) to integrate with other video players & to use Publitio only as a video hosting & streaming solution.

Embedding video with Publitio Player via Iframe

Other common & widely used way for embedding videos is via Iframe. Iframe html code will have by default responsive behaviour & will use Embed URL as it''s src and will play your videos with Publitio Player (yes!)

This is our recommended way for embedding of videos as Iframe will inherit changes you make to the player setup or to the video file (like changing of poster image, watermarking, etc.)

Creating your first file transformation with Publitio

Hello Jon. We will show you how to use Publitio URL-Based API to perform various transformations of your images & videos. You can use it to do resizing, cropping, watermarking, quality adjustment and conversion between formats, transcoding, etc.

On the fly URL-Based transformations

1.) Upload your file

Go directly to your Files Dashboard and click on Upload File button in right corner. Select some image or shorter video on which we will perform some transformations.

2.) Get your File URL

You can get it by clicking the ''Preview'' icon next to the file (before edit & delete icons). Once there you will see ''URL Preview'' field where your file URL will be. Just copy it and/or open it in new tab window.

3.) Perform transformation on your file

Final step is to perform url-based transformations by applying some options to the file URL or by changing the output file extension.

Watermarking images and videos with Publitio

Hello Jon. Watermarks are great way to safeguard your media assets. Let''s see how it''s easy to watermark your images & videos with Publitio.

1.) Create your first watermark

Please go to Watermarks Dashboard and click on Create Watermark button in top right corner. Please select some transparent PNG or JPG file to upload as watermark and enter your watermark name (ID).

2.) Apply watermark on image or video

Easiest way to apply watermark on a image or a video is while uploading file to Publitio. This guarantees that all future versions you create from this file will include this watermark on them by default.

As soon as upload is done and you get your file preview URL you can see watermark in action (top right corner):

Add watermark on image or video via URL-Based API

Other very practical way to add or change watermark on a image/video is to add wm option to the file URL:
