So, what happened here in the last months?

• we worked hard towards launching Quantum v2 Beta soon
• Photon Server 5 Beta is live - and we already use it in production
• Photon Industries was launched for all our non-gaming customers and comes with a toolkit for virtual events with thousands of participants
• and hooray! We were awarded by Red Herring Top 100 Europe

Red Herring Top 100 Europe enlists outstanding entrepreneurs and promising companies. It selects the award winners from approximately 1,200 privately financed companies each year in the European region since 1996.

Red Herring’s editors were among the first to recognize that companies such as Alibaba, Facebook, Google, SalesForce, Skype, SuperCell, Spotify, Twitter, and YouTube would change the way we live and work.

Thousands of the most interesting and innovative companies have graced the Top 100 list over the years and we are super proud to now be named amongst them.

If you do not know it yet: Photon Quantum is a deterministic predict-rollback game engine for Unity. This means no netcode, no object syncing, no edge cases. In other words: Quantum is the best way to create super-low bandwidth 100% in-sync multiplayer experiences.

Quantum v2 Beta is about to be released and features

• a new ECS / entity memory model
• dynamic lists
• dynamic asset DB
• entity prototypes and much more (read in our blog) ...

So far our offering was completely focussed on gaming customers, but Photon has been used for non-game projects since a long time.

It was about time to found ''Photon for Industries'' to take care of our non-games customers and their specific needs with a custom-shaped pricing. This comes along with a new toolkit for virtual events and conferences, ''SpaceHub Conference''.

The kit features an expo, booth and stage to power small to large virtual events with thousands of participants.

Now, our customers can start building custom virtual events faster and easier then ever.

Photon Server is the powerhouse behind our global Photon Cloud and there is one thing we will never compromise: stability. The majority of Photon Cloud servers are now running on v5 stable as a rock. So, while we still label it 'beta' and documentation is WiP we think the time is ready to make it publically available.

• Enhanced custom authentication, matchmaking and new room creation methods
• State of the art Security: TCP/TLS support, UDP datagram encryption and OpenSSL (TLS 1.3 support)
• New serialization for improved performance

Other Ocean''s Project Winter is a new take on survival games and definitely one of the finest in this genre. Eight players need to work together to survive, but amongst the players lurk some traitors unknown to the survivors.

The game requires intense communication and teamwork to reach the survivors' ultimate goal of escape. While the traitors only goal is to stop the survivors by any means. It is all about trust. And betrayal.
