Kyshona is a South Carolina native and Nashville-based singer-songwriter who has always lent her voice and music to those who feel they have been silenced or forgotten. She began her career as a music therapist, writing her first songs with the students and inmates under her care. She soon found the need to write independently and discover her own voice, leading her to the fertile ground of Nashville''s creative community and songwriting culture.

Since then, she has learned to balance music with her passion to heal by blending rock, roots, R&B, and folk with lyrical prowess that uplifts and brings awareness to the masses. In February 2020, Kyshona released her new LP "Listen," co-produced with Andrija Tokic (St. Paul & The Broken Bones, Alabama Shakes).

John Lewis: Good Trouble, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Dawn Porter (Trapped, Gideon''s Army), chronicles John Robert Lewis's 60-plus years of social activism and legislative action on civil rights, voting rights, gun control, health-care reform, and immigration.

Using present-day interviews with Lewis, now 80 years old, Porter explores his childhood experiences, his inspiring family, and his fateful meeting with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in 1957.

Dear Friends of the Peace Center,

We hosted two wonderful Webinars this week: one with Donors and one with our Broadway Subscribers.

For those not on these calls, I wanted to offer a brief update on what is happening at the Peace Center.

Let me begin by saying: "this is what we know today." COVID-19 has turned the live entertainment industry upside down, and the reality is everything is constantly changing . . . tours and schedules are a complete moving target. This includes Broadway productions as well as single night events.

Broadway
Last August the Peace Center announced that its fabulous FY21 Broadway season was being postponed until April 2021. Unfortunately, this time frame has since lengthened, and it will likely be September 2021 before the Peace Center sees the return of Broadway. Our goal is to deliver every show that was announced last March. So far 8 of the 10 presentations are rescheduled for the 2021-2022 season, with two new shows being added. The 2 productions that did not get rescheduled will actually take place in the 2022-2023 season. The 2021-2022 series titles and dates will likely be announced this coming February.

Single Night Events
There is similar disruption in the business of single night presentations. Most artists will not be touring in the short term. Many of the "big" tours which you have come to love, and always look forward to seeing, have been delayed until the late summer or fall. Of course, we hope there will be exceptions along the way. And if they can be booked and managed safely, we look forward to bringing these offerings to you as soon as possible.

If you have tickets to an upcoming show and have not been offered clarity on that event's status, it is because we do not have that clarity either. When a show cancels outright, you will be notified and offered a refund, or the opportunity to donate the value of your tickets as a tax-deductible contribution. The Peace Center is actively working with agents on rescheduling many of the single night shows. When dates are successfully secured, and should you choose, your tickets will remain valid for the new date.

What we do know
Your tickets'' monies are safely segregated. This is your money until the show happens, whether it is for Broadway or a single night presentation. (The good news for Broadway subscribers is that your new season has been pretty much paid for!) Any requests for refunds will be respectfully honored. It is understandable you are getting impatient, and please know we are, too.

What we ask
More than anything we hope you will trust us. We are here to work with you and accommodate your needs. Your patronage and our relationship with you is the most precious resource we have.
Please be patient. COVID-19 has completely disrupted our industry, and we are doing our very best to deal with it.
Consider becoming a donor. Generous philanthropy will allow the Peace Center to hold the line and be ready to fully reopen as soon as touring shows and artists are available once again. Click here to learn more.

Let me conclude with an invitation to join us for one of our concerts in Genevieve's. They offer an "almost normal" live entertainment experience and have featured some extraordinary artists from Nashville and the surrounding region.

I remain incredibly optimistic COVID-19 will be conquered in the new year, and that we will again find joy in our collective live entertainment experiences. The Peace Center promises to successfully manage through this long business interruption and be ready for your return.

Based on my observation, people can hardly wait to experience the live arts once again, so I am not at all worried about audiences' willingness to come back to the theatre. And when the "moon and stars" once again align for our industry, I assure you the Peace Center's next 30 years will be even more exciting than the past 30!

Over the past two decades, two-time Grammy^?-nominee and singer-songwriter Kim Richey has released nine critically-acclaimed albums with "Glimmer" appearing in Time magazine's "Top 10 Albums of 1999." Her songs have been featured in hit TV shows including "Nashville" ("Falling") and "Bones" ("One and the Same").

Her album "Rise" received 4-stars in Rolling Stone and was named "Alt-Country Album of The Year" in People magazine. "Thorn In My Heart" was listed by the Associated Press as one of the best albums of 2013.

In addition to her own music, Richey has written for a variety of artists including Trisha Yearwood, Radney Foster, and Brooks & Dunn. She also provided vocals on records by Ryan Adams, Shawn Colvin, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Jason Isbell, Gretchen Peters and many more.

Her latest album, "A Long Way Back: The Songs of Glimmer," is a re-working of the original album to celebrate the album's 20^th anniversary.

Happy New Year!

It is stunning to believe it has been ten months (March 9, 2020) since a concert was last held in the Peace Concert Hall.

And although we are still in the midst of a pandemic, the Peace Center is committed to beginning the long journey to immerse you (once again) into the world of live entertainment.

I wanted you to be the first to know about some of the programs we have in the works:

Later this week tickets will go on sale for the Allman Betts Band, whose latest project "Bless Your Heart" was named a Top 20 Album of 2020 by Blues Rock Review. You may know Devon Allman and Duane Betts as the extremely talented sons of Gregg Allman and Dickey Betts. The extraordinary Allman Betts Band has been touring recently and they have been doing so safely. Simply put, the Peace Center is thrilled to have booked a date with them for February 5.

More exciting news . . . Yo-Yo Ma will be performing in recital at the Peace Center sometime this Spring!  We hope tickets will be placed on sale towards the end of February. Be prepared that these tickets will be somewhat pricey because the guarantee is on the high side and Mr. Ma will be playing in the Peace Concert Hall with significantly reduced capacity. I am particularly excited about this appearance as it represents world-class music at its finest and exemplifies the very essence of what the Peace Center is all about.

On April 17, the Peace Center will present singer/songwriter Sierra Hull, the musical prodigy and virtuoso mandolin player who appeared at the Grand Ole Opry at age 11. Sierra has performed at the White House, Carnegie Hall, and Kennedy Center among other prestigious venues.

In the 2^nd quarter of 2021, the Peace Center will present the American Ballet Theatre. The concert will be held outside, most likely on our TD Stage. This is another exciting world-class act to headline the Peace Center's comeback year! The event will feature movements choreographed to music by American artists including Duke Ellington, Frank Sinatra, and Tony Bennett to name just a few. This unique concert is sure to appeal to a very broad audience . . . dance and music lovers alike.

In the meantime, please continue to check out our songwriter's concerts in Genevieve's. New artists will be announced regularly along with return engagements by some of our/your very favorite artists.

These shows are being announced with the understanding that many of our friends and audience members are not yet willing to return to a live music venue. We appreciate that and understand it completely. However, for those of you who are inclined to do so, please know we will be ready for you. Every possible precaution will be taken so that you may safely enjoy a wonderful experience.

It is really important for us to give special recognition to those artists who have begun to tour. Their bravery, leadership, and willingness to tour responsibly is sure to jumpstart the live entertainment industry in Greenville and around the world.  Their efforts will go a long way towards reviving our collective spirits and our communities.
