Good King Wenceslas had land,

Wanted a marquee in it.

Found just the one in Open Air,

Then Covid-19 hit.

"I'll make it a pop-up caf?,

It'll be a winner."

Instead of weddings and events,

He's handing out the dinners.

'Staycations on the rise' he reads,

So puts some bell tents in.

Website says he's fully booked,

Staff rush round with linen.

Checking the accounts one night,

Doesn't want to furlough.

"People need some cheering up -

A socially-distanced festival!"

Group the seats around the lawns,

Main stage by the lake.

Music into the early hours,

His crew manage the gate.

Autumn's here - the rain it comes,

Boris still no wiser.

Lockdown 2 and tiers all round,

"Wish I had shares in Pfizer."

"This year's been one to forget,

I hope that things get better.

The Bounce Back Loan it helped a bit,

But that won't last forever"

He's done his best, he's made it through,

His team has been just great.

Dear Lord, in 2021,

Please give our industry a break!
