Hey Benjamin,
Ever heard of the "rule of seven"?
It's this theory that leads won't buy until they've heard from you or engaged with your content at least seven times.
Since we're working in a world with ads all over the place, I think this idea of persistent engagement is a pretty big deal.
So I thought you might appreciate this video my team put together on nurturing your leads - it talks about stuff like diversifying your messages, maximizing your resources, and how to streamline it all with automation.
Take a look, and let me know if it sparks any ideas for you.

P.S. Sometimes knowing exactly how to approach your lead nurture is the hardest part. This page gives six examples of potential customer journeys you could implement.

Hey Benjamin,
Most people run "campaigns" throughout the year - one for their new product, another for a holiday sale, one more to raise brand awareness, and so on.
It goes like this:
The creative guru of the marketing team comes up with an idea. The team whips together all the elements to make it happen: copy, design, video, ads . you know the drill.
They hustle and brainstorm until they've crafted the perfect campaign .
Then it launches.
Maybe it's a success. Maybe it's not. Maybe you don't even know.
It doesn't necessarily matter, because next it's time to think about the next campaign idea .
And on and on it goes.
So many teams cycle through this process every year then wonder why they aren't getting better results.
It's because that isn't how marketing is supposed to work.
To get a steady flow of customers - and actually do marketing right - you need to be drawing in leads year-round. One-off campaigns can't do that.
You need to follow up with customers consistently. And once they buy, you follow up some more.
It's the only way to get a reliable, consistent flow of new customers.
And it doesn't have to be complicated, either. There's a simple way to pivot your marketing to accomplish all of this - and platforms like Ontraport were built for it.
It'll be easier to get the picture over a Zoom call with my team. They'll show you what this could look like in your business and how simple it could be to get started.
This isn't one of those things you put off for another time. It's necessary if you want a consistent flow of customers.
Landon
Founder and CEO
P.S. It's a lot of work to put together a new campaign! Personally, I'd much rather tweak and optimize an ongoing campaign instead of starting from scratch every quarter. To see what I mean, set up a call with my team.

Hey Benjamin,
Imagine you're at an awesome networking event.
You run into someone really interesting - they have tons of experience in your industry and you're having a great chat about your business. As the event comes to a close, what do you do?
Option 1: Thank them for their time and go home.
Option 2: Tell them you'd love to stay in touch, add each other on LinkedIn, or exchange emails.
Pretty sure most of us would go with Option 2. Because how are you supposed to strengthen a relationship if you never see each other again?
Now think about that same situation ... but with your leads.
If you're getting clicks and still aren't seeing any sales . that's normal. Most people don't buy the first time they hear of you. And if someone clicks on your ad but never hears from you again, you can't expect that relationship to last.
If this is the way you're managing your leads, all the money you spend on ads is going down the drain when you leave them hanging.
Enter: follow-up.
Getting people to click is just the first step - it takes repeated exposure and follow-up to help them remember who you are and why they were interested in your product in the first place.
Lots of business owners and marketers know they need to follow up, but it can be hard to figure out where to start, or how to divide up their contacts the right way. Ontraport was built for this sort of thing, so I'd recommend a Zoom call with my team to check it out.
It's worth your time to figure out how to follow up. It's pretty essential to getting customers these days.
Landon
Founder and CEO
P.S. How many ads do you see every day? I find myself constantly seeing products that I'm interested in, then forgetting about them once the next thing comes along. Chatting with my team can help you figure out the best ways to stay connected with easily distracted leads (like myself).

Hey Benjamin,
For nearly a decade, we''ve held an annual user conference in our hometown of Santa Barbara, California each October. And every year, I have to (get to?) do a couple hour-long keynote talks.
So each year, I have figure out what to talk about.
Now, remember, these are our clients I''m talking to... so I''m not trying to sell them anything (because they already bought what I''m selling. ????)
Instead, every year, I spend quite a lot of time thinking about what I''ve seen in our community (of thousands of entrepreneurs from all over the world, including many of the world''s most successful marketers) then I do my very best to figure out what I can spend an hour talking about that will make the most difference to our community.
Look, I''m not a professional speaker. I''m a software and marketing geek.
But I''m also someone who''s been around more great businesses and really high level entrepreneurs than just about anyone (and I''ve built a pretty great business myself) so I feel confident about what I have to share.
And this talk got a lot of great feedback, so I thought I'd share it with you.
It's about what really matters when you're working on your business and how the very best entrepreneurs make sure that they win, over and over again.
Here's the summary and video.
Hope you find it useful.
Landon
Founder and CEO
P.S. We don't usually give away the videos from our conference keynotes, because they''re long (sorry!), and... well, they''re not selling anything. But I got my team to make an exception for this one. Because this REALLY is the secret to how to win, eventually, every time. ??

Hey Benjamin,
That's literally how business owner Joan Randall described her life before Ontraport.
She went on to explain, "I couldn't build my email list because people were opting in everywhere and there were too many separate emails going on. I spent countless hours wasting time, and I lost revenue because of that."
Sound familiar?

Hey Benjamin,
How many software tools are you paying for each month?
There's a common misperception that all-in-one systems are expensive. Yes, the actual price tag is going to be higher than the $7 or $19 price tag on your smaller tools - but what about when you add all those tools up?
And what about when you add the setup fees, integration costs and extra charges that come with those tools?
Most people find that an all-in-one system like Ontraport is way easier on their pocketbook. Check out our pricing here, and start with a free trial so you can check it out without spending a dime.

P.S. Have you factored in the cost of your time? How many hours a day would you save if you didn't have to log in and manage a bunch of different tools every day? And what's that worth to your business? Sign up for a free trial to see how Ontraport can save you time and money in the long run.

Hey Benjamin,
There's a myth in the digital marketing world about lead generation that far too many entrepreneurs assume is true.
It goes something like this: A beautifully designed website with lots of information about my product or company will attract new leads simply by virtue of it being a great website.
Ah, if only.
As much as we all wish that a beautiful and engaging website was enough, it's simply not the case in today's competitive online landscape.
Let's bust this myth right now. Although a professionally designed site definitely helps in establishing your brand, it is not enough to generate new leads for your business.
That, my friend, is where landing pages come in.
Their unique ability to focus on your leads' specific problems and interests, while offering one of your products as the specific solution, is what really drives conversions.
My team put together this article that covers the best ways to use your landing pages to generate leads. Check it out and see if it gets you thinking.

Hey Benjamin,
For most business owners, there's a giant gap between what we EXPECTED running our own business would be like and what it's REALLY like.
When we decided to take the plunge and start our own business, most of us hoped that success would bring freedom to work on our own schedules, a level of financial abundance that our jobs couldn't provide, and the fulfillment that comes from knowing that you're making a positive difference for your clients.
But in fact, you see a whole lot of the opposite.
More often than not, business owners are tied to their computers and phones at all hours, struggling to make ends meet financially, and spending most of their time doing everything OTHER than what's most fulfilling or inspiring.
Why does this happen?
There are a lot of reasons, but one of the culprits is software. Yes, the many different software tools we're expected to use on a daily basis just to make our business actually work are holding us back.
Think about it: How much time have you spent in the last week thinking about your tech tools? Making sure your integrations are working. Getting in touch with support teams when needed. And simply trying to figure out what the heck is going on.
This isn't why you started the business.
I found myself in the same boat. That's when I decided to build a single business tool that takes care of all the essentials.
With a single tool, you've just got one system to manage everything. It's so much easier. So much less time consuming. And so much better for your business - and your customers' experience - in the long run.
To see what the app is like, sign up for a Zoom chat with one of my team members. They'll show you around and, more importantly, tell you more about how it can help you get back to the good stuff in your business.
Landon
Founder and CEO
P.S. Sometimes, I get caught up in the chaotic nature of running a business, which makes it easy to forget why I started it in the first place. I've found that simplifying things - like software - can eliminate that noise and remind me what I love about my business. You'll see what I mean when you chat with my team.

Hey Benjamin,
You've probably heard - over and over again - that segmentation is the key to effective marketing.
And it is. But even though it's a pretty easy concept to grasp, segmentation gets a lot more complicated when you actually try it.
You've got to deal with a bunch of different lists of people and somehow figure out who goes where. And you've got to make sure you don't have people on multiple lists. And that you don't accidentally promote the wrong thing to the wrong list.
It gets messy.
That's because lists are not an effective way to segment people (even though a lot of old school email marketing systems are built this way).
The right way, instead, is to respond to each individual person with the exact right message at the exact right time in their buying experience.
Yes, I realize that sounds really complicated. But it's not.
A system like Ontraport does this for you. It's just a matter of writing your messages with your personal touch just like you would normally, then setting them on autopilot.
My team can show you more clearly how this works. It's simple once you see it. Schedule a quick Zoom video call, and they'll walk you through it.
You'll walk away realizing how much easier it is to segment your list when you're not . using lists. More importantly, you'll see how to actually do the type of targeted marketing that's necessary to get customers.
Landon
Founder and CEO
P.S. What if you wanted to send a special discount offer only to people who haven't bought one of your products and have been on your list for more than six months? That kind of segmentation is essential to actually prompt sales, but it's extremely difficult without the right technology in place. Set up a Zoom video call with my team and they'll show you how Ontraport handles this easily for you.

Hey Benjamin,
Figuring out where your customers are coming from seems like a basic part of marketing - but you may be finding it's actually not so easy.
You're spending all this money on ads, and you've got pretty good analytics on those . but what happens after that?
Do you know what pages each prospect visits before they opt-in?
Do you know which of your leads are visiting your website right now?
And, where are your best customers come from? Do you know which ads bring you customers that stick around longer? Upgrade more? Refer their friends?
Being able to track the full journey your customers take would tell you so much. You'd know which ads to put more of your budget toward, which type of messaging your audience responds to, which web pages to send more traffic to . all things that lead to more sales.
Unfortunately, access to this kind of information is hard to come by for many small businesses, so they end up marketing blindly - and wasting a lot of money on ads that don't work.
The only way to get this information is with an all-in-one system that manages each part of the customer journey and, along with it, each piece of data. In the past, only mega systems built for big corporations did this, but now Ontraport fills the gap for small businesses.
If you're interested in seeing how you can track your lead sources and customer activity in Ontraport, set up a platform tour with my team.
Landon
Founder and CEO
P.S. There's no sense in spending money on marketing if you're not going to know what's working and what's not. Ontraport collects all the data you need so you can get the most from your marketing budget. Set up a time to chat with my team to see how this works.

Hey Benjamin,
Is your email marketing system connected to your CRM database, which is linked to your website, which is hooked into a system for taking payments online?
Or . something like that?
It's typical of businesses to build a "tech stack" like this as they grow - intentionally or not.
It's also typical for these tech stacks to fall down.
What happens is one of the pieces breaks or, more commonly, one of the integrations doesn't actually work. So your systems don't talk to one another, which means your customers aren't getting what they need and you're not getting paid.
It's not a reliable way to run a business.
You can avoid all this by using just one system for everything. With an all-in-one platform, you won't need to integrate the major components of your business technology because they're already built in.
Check out a platform tour of Ontraport to see how this works. My team can even work with you on a plan for moving your stack over before it falls down ...
Landon
Founder and CEO
P.S. Tech stacks are like the game of Jenga. The removal of one piece can make the whole thing topple. Not a very secure way to run a business. See how you can avoid the issue altogether by chatting with my team.

Hey Benjamin,
Moving up to an all-in-one system can be daunting. It's normal to assume that a bigger system is going to be more complicated to use and take longer to learn.
But if Ontraport were that way, it would defeat its whole purpose. We created Ontraport intentionally to be both easy to use and powerful. That's where the gap is in the marketplace, and that's what you really need to grow.
Here are some of the ways we've made Ontraport easy to use and learn:
We're constantly working on more ways to simplify the platform so that you can get started quickly and painlessly. It's our mission to remove the burden of technology, after all. Get a tour of the platform with my team to see what I mean.

P.S. We made Ontraport specifically for entrepreneurs who aren't into spending all day with technology. So the system is intentionally as simple as possible. Let my team show you around to see for yourself - sign up for a platform tour here.

Hey Benjamin,
Sales is a tough job.
If you've ever done it, you know it can feel like walking on eggshells - if you ask for too much too soon, you scare off leads. If you ask for too little too late, they're already gone.
Is it an art? A science? Nobody really knows.
But since it's such a crucial step in bringing in sales, you need to know how to talk to your leads in a way that's relevant for wherever they are in the customer lifecycle.
So my team put together these guidelines for sales follow-up - take a look, and see if you get any ideas for your follow-up system.

Hey Benjamin,
I'm curious - how does your team handle retargeting?
Or is it even a part of your marketing strategy?
From my point of view, retargeting is just as important as the email follow-up messages you send to your leads.
It's really pretty essential. It makes a lot more sense to show ads to people who already have an interest in what you're selling - they're much more likely to buy, and they often just need to see that ad as the final nudge.
For insight into how to run retargeting campaigns, check out this video that my team put together.
Let me know what you think.
Landon

P.S. To make retargeting easier, you can easily sync up your Ontraport and Facebook Ad accounts. This way, you can automatically add contacts from your Ontraport database to Facebook Custom Audiences for retargeting. Find out more here.

Hey Benjamin,
Running a business is frustrating.
Don't get me wrong, some days it's exciting, liberating, satisfying - but other days, it makes you want to rip your hair out.
Because sometimes, no matter what you do, you just can't get people to buy what you're selling.
You've got people interested .
But somewhere along the line you lose them.
They just slip through the cracks.
It's tempting to keep trying new strategies until something works, but what you really need is actually pretty simple: You need to follow up with the right message at the right time to the right person.
Most people don't buy the first time they hear about a company or product. And they definitely aren't going to buy if they don't hear from you again.
But not only do you need to follow up, you need to follow up in a targeted way - or else you'll get lost in the shuffle.
It might sound a little daunting, but segmented follow-up can actually be made pretty simple with the right tools. In fact, Ontraport was built for this sort of thing, and we've got a lot of follow-up systems templated out and ready for users to simply plug n' play. My team can show you the campaign over a quick Zoom chat and you can see how it'll help you avoid dropping another lead.
Landon
Founder and CEO
P.S. What's the point in working hard to attract customers if they aren't sticking around? In my opinion, it's best to avoid the "spray and pray" approach and focus on targeted follow-up instead. Schedule a quick Zoom call with my team to see what I mean.

Hey Benjamin,
When you're growing a business, you can't afford to waste money on marketing that doesn't work.
In fact, no matter what size your business might be, you want every dollar you spend to give you something in return.
We see this every day: Marketers spend money on ads, and get a bunch of clicks .
And that's it.
They have no idea what happens to those potential leads after that.
It's like they fall into a black hole.
Some of them might end up buying, but who knows?
But you need to know.
You need to know which ads actually lead to sales so you know which ads to keep putting money into.
The fact is, it doesn't matter how many people click on your ads, and it doesn''t even matter how many leads you get! It matters how many people buy.
You need to see deep funnel conversions. You need to see the whole journey your customers take from ad click to purchase.
Very few systems (in fact, none?), aside from Ontraport, allow you to get this kind of view. But it's critical - it's the difference between spending your money wisely and wasting it.
To see exactly how you can trace a lead through your buying process, hop on a Zoom video call with my team. They can also show you how to use that insight to get better results from your ads.
Landon
Founder and CEO
P.S. Ads aren't cheap - so why pay for them if you aren't certain they'll work? I've found that when I stop throwing money at marketing that isn't working, I have opportunities to invest in more important things. You'll know what I mean when you check out the platform with my team.

Hey Benjamin,
When one of your software integrations breaks - which is inevitable, unfortunately - the natural response is to reach out to customer support to get it fixed.
So you call the support line for one of the tools, and they tell you it's not their problem and that you'll need to call the support line for the other tool. And maybe they'll tell you to call a third provider.
And back and forth you go...
All day.
Until the day is over and you realize you did nothing except dig into some tech issue. And your business is at a standstill.
This is what happens when you build a tech stack instead of simply using one platform that does it all.
If you're wasting your time fixing software integrations, it's time to move up to an all-in-one platform. See what I mean by scheduling a platform tour with my team. It'll make your life so much simpler.

P.S. Bouncing between customer support teams is the last thing you need to spend your time doing. With an all-in-one system like Ontraport, you won't have as many problems - and, if you do, you've just got one support team to call (or chat, or screenshare). Learn more with a platform tour.

Hey Benjamin,
One of the things that I've made sure of at Ontraport is that we don't give our team members commissions. That's because we're not out to sell Ontraport to just everyone and anyone. If it's not right for your business, we'll actually tell you. We don't want to waste your time or ours.
Over the years we've learned who Ontraport is right for and who it's not. Here it goes:
If you're just starting to get customers and test your product, then you don't quite need a system like Ontraport yet. Keep us in mind as your business grows!
Now, on the other hand, if you've gained some traction and have reached a point where you can no longer manage all your customers and sales with the tools you have, it's time for a platform like Ontraport.
At this stage of your business, you need software that can manage the full path your leads take to become customers and beyond. You need software that gives you complete data so you can make better budgeting decisions. And you need software that's going to handle the nitty gritty so you can focus on the bigger picture.
We built Ontraport to support businesses at this exact stage - it's the inflection point between failure and success, and we want to help you succeed.
Check it out free for 14 days and see how it can work for you.

P.S. We're not here to sell you something you don't need. But if you're expecting your business to hit a growth spurt, it's time to look into a platform like Ontraport. Sign up for a free trial to see what I mean.

Hey Benjamin,
Imagine trying to bake a batch of warm, gooey cookies - without a recipe.
The flour explodes all over the kitchen. You forget to add butter. You end up with some nasty-looking, inedible mush with chocolate chips.
You could have had fluffy, fresh cookies if you had only followed a recipe.
That's what it's like trying to convert leads without a system.
I'll admit, the above example is a bit dramatic - your business probably won't fall apart without an established marketing process. But it also won't be able to scale.
It's common to rely on word-of-mouth when you're starting out, or to reserve marketing "plans" for specific holiday promotions and product launches. But eventually, you have to step it up.
That's when it's time to establish a more formalized, ongoing plan instead of jumping from one campaign to the next.
Even though this seems daunting, it's actually pretty simple. And once you do it, it's repeatable . aka scalable . and it's a way to have benchmarks so you can keep improving and getting better results.
I've learned this the hard way in my time as an entrepreneur. If you want to grow a business, you have to systemize it first. I know this, and that's a big reason why I started Ontraport. It's a platform for systemizing and scaling marketing - something that previously didn't exist for small businesses (which is why, I believe, small businesses have historically struggled to survive).
If this all seems overwhelming, I get it. It's easier to grasp if you can see what this type of system looks like, so I suggest hopping on a Zoom call with my team and seeing if you think this is the right path for you.
And who knows - they might have some baking tips for you, too. ??

P.S. If you''re ready to stop willy-nilly marketing and start actually getting results, creating a marketing system is your first step. And I get it - systems aren''t sexy. They sound super boring. But as an entrepreneur who has scaled a business by 10x - and then 10x again, and again after that - I can tell you that systems are the first step to real growth. And that''s pretty sexy to me. ??
