2020 Silver Medal Award

At a COVID friendly ceremony on 17 July, NDIA President Angie Lommen presented Mr. Daniel Gallagher the NDIA Silver Medal. As the Executive Director of the Army Contracting Command – Detroit Arsenal, Mr. Gallagher’s vision and drive in support of the Michigan Defense community enhanced the connections between industry, academia and the Government all in support of the Warfighter.

CANCELLED But tune-in to Facebook

Despite the NDIA Michigan Chapter’s best efforts to host the Annual Dinner Meeting during the current COVID-19 pandemic, the larger event has been cancelled. Unfortunately, Executive Orders restricted the number of the individuals allowed to gather together indoors which led the event''s cancellation.   Despite the event’s cancellation, the Chapter still plans to recognize it''s 2020 Silver Medal recipient on July 17th at 8:00 p.m. Thus, “LIKE” our FACEBOOK page in order to view a FACEBOOK Live ceremonial presentation. The Live event will also capture the Michigan Chapter Officer Transition Ceremony.

GVSETS Call for Abstracts is Coming Soon!   The Call for Paper Abstracts will be available by February 1, 2021

BRIDGING THE GAP & TRANSITIONING TECHNOLOGIES TO THE WARFIGHTER

By August, GVSETS & APBI should be back LIVE! This means the ability to personally network and share technical research to over 1,500 attendees.

As new and innovative technologies are developed by academia, industry, and government, the U.S. Military is constantly looking to integrate them into current and future military ground vehicles. However, one of the greatest challenges is bridging the gap between fundamental research in the lab and integrating these new capabilities onto the battlefield. Thus, the theme for this year''s Technical Sessions will be to Bridge the Transition Gap!

TECHNICAL PAPER SCOPES Scientists and engineers from government, academia and industry will be invited to submit abstracts for Technical Papers. The selected Papers will be published and presented at the event in August. Paper scopes include: Additive Manufacturing Autonomy, Artificial Intelligence & Robotics (AAIR) Cybersecurity of Ground Systems Modeling Simulation and Software (MS2) Power and Mobility Survivability Vehicle Electronics and Architecture (VEA)
