First and foremost, thank you for your hard work and dedication to the fight for common-sense gun safety laws. Your support makes all the difference in this fight.
I’m reaching out today to tell you more about how I am putting gun safety front and center in my campaign for President of the United States. I hope you will take the time to learn more about my plans and join me.
When I had the opportunity to air an ad for all of America to see during the Super Bowl, I knew I wanted to lift up the story of a mother whose son’s life was cut short by gun violence. Calandrian Simpson Kemp and mothers like her are standing up and demanding change. 2,900 children and teens are killed by gun violence each year. We need to all come together to say: Enough is enough.
If you agree we need a champion for gun safety in the White House, sign on today.
I don’t just talk about taking action -- I’ve gotten it done. I co-founded Everytown for Gun Safety, a movement of 6 million strong gun violence prevention activists. Together, we’ve helped to pass lifesaving gun safety legislation in states across the country and to elect gun safety champions up and down the ballot. I know how to take on the NRA -- and win.
As president, I will make the fight against the gun lobby a top priority. My comprehensive gun safety agenda will create an effective background checks system, keep guns away from people who pose a danger to themselves or others, protect young people in schools and Americans in their homes, tackle daily gun violence in the hardest-hit communities, and confront the gun industry head-on.
If you support commonsense legislation, and want a president who knows how to get it done, join me today.
Thank you,
Mike Bloomberg
