Grab our best-selling program What We Wish We'd Known
Hey Amelia,
As you get ready to start a new decade, do you have a whole lot of "I'm not good at that" stories standing between you and the difference you want to make for others?
Perhaps one of these sounds familiar:
I'm not good at selling.
I'm not good at public speaking.
I'm not good at coaching.
I'm not good at writing.
I'm not good at technology stuff.
Or perhaps several of them – or even all of them – are stories that have been keeping you stuck this year.
I get it. When I started my positive psychology business, these were all stories that I told myself. As a result, I was left spinning my wheels in fear, procrastination, and making things much harder – and much more expensive – than they ever needed to be.
I'd love to save you from making the mistakes I made, so if you're stuck in any of these stories, then grab our online program What We Wish We'd Known.
Join before midnight on Tuesday, 10th December, and save yourself $100.
You'll discover how to:
Set up your positive psychology/wellbeing business, including what products and services to offer, how to create a simple and affordable website, and how to price what you do. I'm totally transparent in this program about what I charge (and what other people in this field are charging), so you have all the information you need to make your own pricing decisions.
Grow your business and take it to the next level. You'll discover how to put together your virtual team, attract subscribers to your email list, and build your public profile using public relations, blogging, and social media.
Teach positive psychology face-to-face. What should you do when you start getting speaking gigs? Learn why you don't need to be an "expert," how to engage people's brains, and how to make your presentations memorable. You'll also get my templates for creating winning proposals, securing bookings, and making sure you get paid.
Build a thriving positive psychology coaching practice. Find out why I use an Appreciative Inquiry approach with my clients, and blend this with my favorite positive psychology tools. You'll learn how to package your offerings and find the perfect clients to fill your practice.
Write about positive psychology, and help people by teaching online. If you want to write a book, create blog posts, or teach online by creating webinars, podcasts, and online programs, you'll learn how to do all three in Modules 5 and 6. If you're feeling anxious about this part of your business, don't worry – we provide plenty of resources to help you take the next step.
Sound like what you need?
Click here and save $100 today when you join us.
But you need to move fast to get that discount – this will be the last time we ever offer this program at this price and it ends at midnight on Tuesday 10th December.
It's my heartfelt hope that we can help you make a bigger difference for others in 2020.
Warmest wishes,
Michelle
P.S. If you need more time to take advantage of this offer, please reach out to us, and we'll be happy to help. We don't want you to miss out as this will be the last time we EVER offer this program at this price.

Why I priced this program too cheaply and how you can take advantage of it for the last two days!
Hey Amelia,
As the year winds to a close, if you’re feeling a little run down from trying to follow your dreams and use positive psychology and wellbeing tools to help others, I wanted to make sure you didn’t miss out on our a step-by-step online training program “What We Wish We’d Known” so that 2020 is a little easier and a lot more enjoyable for you.
But hurry as of midnight on Friday 13th December the price of this program is going up significantly!
Why are we putting the price of this program up from $497 to $797?
Well, what I wish I’d known earlier is that sometimes I suffer from stupid generosity. Just like stupid grit can cause us to stick with something for far longer than we should, at times, I’m guilty of overplaying my generosity and pricing things far too cheaply because I want to make the work we do as affordable as possible for you.
But here’s the thing…
When you know an online program like What We Wish We’d Known is helping people to save hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars of wasted effort as they build and grow their wellbeing businesses, and you have a heart and head full of free tools to help improve people’s wellbeing that need funding, then you have to find the courage to price things in a way that creates a win-win outcome for everybody.
You see What We Wish We’d Known has helped people like:
Lisa figure out the right name and branding for her new wellbeing business that has saved her hours of procrastination and a small fortune in wasted legal and design fees.
Bill to overcome his fear of technology to finally launch his website and use social media to quickly grow an email list of hundreds of raving fans who are recommending his work to others and putting more money in his pocket.
Amanda supercharge her fledging coaching business by moving past her self-doubt and marketing and structuring new coaching packages that have tripled her revenue in just 12 months.
Garry design highly engaging, evidence-based wellbeing workshops that don’t overwhelm people with the science, but do leave the hallways of his clients buzzing and for which he is now being paid thousands of dollars.
Sharon who, after dreaming for years of writing her first book but fearing that others had already written it all, leveraged her strengths and growth mindset to finally publish her book.
How can one online program deliver these results?
Well here’s what people have told us they value most about this program:
It helps you walk your wellbeing talk – it integrates all the positive psychology tools you love – activating your strengths, practicing a growth mindset, reaching for self-compassion and more – into building and growing your business. And yes, it even teaches you how to “sell” in ways that are authentic and service-orientated.
It saves you time and wasted energy – you might be thinking (as I know I do, from time to time), “It would just be quicker if I did this myself.” But “muddling through” and making all the mistakes I made isn’t easier, faster, or less expensive. It’s painful, annoying, and expensive!
It’s packed with practical resources – including a list of all the resources and supplies we use in our business, advice on finding good freelancers like copyrighters and designers, and guidelines for setting up your first website.
There’s no pressure to keep up – it is completely self-paced, and you have lifetime access. You get immediate access to all of the content, so wherever you’re at in your business journey, you can dive straight into the course and get the information you need right now. And you can revisit the content as often as you like.
It’s risk free – of course, if you start the course and find that online learning is not a good fit for you, all you need to do is email our support team and let us know. We have a 30-day risk free guarantee for this program, so we’d be happy to offer you a refund.
This is why we know that even when we increase the price from $497 to $797, What We Wish We’d Known will still be an incredibly affordable product for the benefits it delivers to you.
But why pay the higher price?
Why are we putting the price of this program up from $497 to $797?
When you register today (remember – the price is going up at midnight on Friday 13th December!), you’ll get access to:
The full What We Wish We'd Known program, with access to all six modules, playsheets, resources, recommendations, and templates.
Bonus #1: My Compelling Blog Post Template. You’ll get the simple, easy-to-use template I use to write posts for my own blog, and to create articles for major sites like Huffington Post, Forbes, and The Harvard Business Review.
Bonus #2: My Step-By-Step Template for Creating Workshop Content. To make it easier to create your own presentations, you’ll also get the exact template I use when I’m creating positive psychology workshops for companies, schools, and organizations all over the world.
Bonus #3: An opportunity to be promoted to our audience. When you join us for What We Wish We’d Known, we’ll either feature your business on our “Making Positive Psychology Work” podcast, or we’ll promote you on our social media channels.
If What We Wish We’d Known sounds like a good fit for you then we’d love to have you join us. Just click here to join today before the price goes up.

Hey Amelia,
Happy Friday! I cannot believe this is the last newsletter we’re sending you for the decade! Normally at this time of the year, I like to wind down and journal as a little victory lap and savor what has been – the successes and the challenges – and then dream of what the year ahead might hold. But with a whole decade to reflect on, and a new decade to envision, I think I’m going to need a bigger journal.
As a small thanks for being part of our incredible adventures this decade, this week we’ve been sharing with you many of the things we wish we’d known sooner as we tried to build and grow our wellbeing business. You can check out all the mistakes we made and our tips for avoiding them, on running wellbeing workshops, creating coaching spaces, writing wellbeing books, and building online communities by clicking here.
And in case you’re wanting a jump start for 2020 to build and grow your own wellbeing business so you can help more people to thrive, be sure to check out our What We Wish We’d Known self-paced online program before the price goes up at midnight tonight. This program, which has saved people thousands of hours and dollars, will never be this cheap again.
Finally, for the last time this year, here are three of the things we learned this week:
Are You A Positive Leader?
Did you know that researchers have found that energy trumps influence and information by a factor of four in predicting a leader’s performance? In this week’s podcast, Professor Kim Cameron explains the simple steps you can take in 2020 to be a more positive leader.
Can You Create Positive Change? In this podcast, Professor David Cooperrider shares his new theory for creating positive change. Discover how to create urgent, epic, meaningful changes as you head into 2020 – for yourself or others.
3 Hacks For A Healthy 2020.
Are you hoping to eat, move, and sleep more wisely in 2020? In this article, Tom Rath shares his simple hacks for helping you to have more energy as you head into the new year.
After all, as Greta Thunberg wisely said, “Change is coming whether you like it or not.”

Are You Ready To Embrace The Mess & Magic Of Change?

Hey there,
It’s our heartfelt hope that you’re ready to join us for the free one-week Change Challenge kicking off on Monday. If you haven’t registered yet, there’s still time, just click here.
In the meantime, if you’re wondering how you can step up your positive change game this year, we thought you might be interested in discovering the six biggest positive change aha’s participants from our Certificate In Creating Positive Change told us they surfaced from the class last year:
Change is often hard because the process is messy and magical. Change disrupts the status quo and moves us between states of order and chaos in order to awaken our curiosity and creativity in discovering new possibilities. The mistaken belief that this process can be “managed” rather than “actively navigated” is what makes change so challenging. This is why, in Module 1, we helped participants bust some of the common change myths that make change harder than it needs to be.
Change champions often have lower levels of wellbeing, which puts them and the changes they want to create at risk. Pouring our hope and energy into leading change as we encounter cynics, setbacks, and failures can leave us feeling lonely, frustrated, and exhausted. This is why, in Module 2, we helped participants discover the small daily actions they can take – and help others to take – to care for their wellbeing and boost their change resilience.
The most successful change efforts are driven by purpose, strengths-focused, create spaces for meaningful and inclusive conversations, allow workers to self-organize, and provide feedback mechanisms that sustain willing commitment. This is why, in Module 3, we provided participants with tools to help them assess and grow the pathways for positive change, be compassionate coaches of disruption, and transform organizational cultures.
Every action we take is preceded by a question. This is why, in Module 4, we provided participants with a toolbox packed with positive change tools designed to spark meaningful and inclusive conversations, and taught them the science and the art to asking generative questions that help people to see old things in new ways.
Creating safe spaces where people can connect people around their shared hopes, and are invited to take responsibility for what follows, builds people’s levels of change capacity and intelligence. This is why, in Module 5, we showed participants how to get under the hood of Appreciative Inquiry coaching, workshops, and summits and to design safe spaces at the “me,” “we,” and “us” level so change can more easily and joyfully unfold.
Changes need to be savored and celebrated in order to fuel our resilience. This is why, in Module 6, participants shared the ways they had already begun applying what they learned in the Certificate and what they hoped to achieve over the coming months as we got inspired by the work people were doing and took a victory lap together.
And these were just the biggest aha’s!
If you’d like to learn more about how to create positive change in the world, and you’d like to be part of a kick-ass community of change champions from all over the world who are making change happen, then join us for the next round of the Certificate In Creating Positive Change.
But hurry places are limited, and this will be the last time the Certificate is ever offered at this price.
Got questions? Just hit reply and ask. We’ll be happy to answer them or jump on the phone for a conversation to make sure the Certificate is right for you.
It’s our heartfelt hope that you can join us.
After all, as Eckhart Tolle wisely said, “What a caterpillar calls the end of the world, we call a butterfly.”
Warmest wishes

Make it easier, more effective, and more joyful to make a positive difference for others
Hey Amelia,
We hope you’re finding ways to care for yourself and others during this crazy time.
Since our invitation last week to join The Wellbeing Lab team as a licensee, we’ve been inundated with questions about this once-a-year opportunity.
Remember, if you apply before midnight on the Friday the 20th of November and you are accepted as a licensee, we’ll give you our best-selling What We Wish We’d Known online program to help grow your business as a welcome gift.
We are 100% committed to always helping you find the best opportunities to meet your needs, and so, we asked some of our current Wellbeing Lab Licensees (who have all just signed on for a second year with us) to honestly share their experiences with us.
Here’s how they answered your most common questions:
Will becoming a Wellbeing Lab Licensee really help me to grow my business?
“The access to cutting edge research, global experts, high-quality materials, training, and support has allowed me to grow my business and support individuals and organizations to prioritize human agency.” Kylie McLerie – Director, Collective Culture Consultancy
Why might being a Wellbeing Lab Licensee make it easier to convince workplaces to hire me?
“Deciding to bundle years of Corporate HR experience together with wellbeing to help people navigate the struggle at work each day, is a business decision we have not looked back on. The challenge has been breaking through the view that wellbeing action and focus is “nice to have”. Joining as a Wellbeing Lab Licensee gave us the tools, the confidence, and the support backed by years of research and science to show businesses that this is a necessity to have a thriving and productive workforce.” Awareness Co.
Is being a Wellbeing Lab Licensee really worth the cost of the license?
"It would take such a lot of time and effort for any of us to research, build, and finesse workshops to the same standard and magnificence that The Wellbeing Lab provides. Our time can now be spent on building our businesses and tailoring the content (where necessary) for the specific needs of the client. I’ve also really enjoyed getting to know the other Wellbeing Lab Licensees, building both collaborative work relationships and supportive friendships. These relationships have been invaluable to me this year while navigating my own business through a global pandemic! The shared challenge has really brought us all together to share ideas, collaborate, and co-facilitate – a benefit that I honestly didn’t anticipate when joining as a Licensee a year ago." Sian Mertens – MDM Talent Management
Will being a Wellbeing Lab Licensee really make a positive difference to my business?
“Being a part of The Wellbeing Lab community has opened the doors to an authentic and passionate global network. If you are a passionate facilitator or coach and want to include wellbeing in your portfolio, this is a perfect investment for you." Laurice & Ros – Ripple Affect Institute
Our team is committed to ensuring our licensees have all the support they need to build thriving wellbeing businesses. If this opportunity feels like the right fit for you to make an even bigger positive difference in the world, we’d love to have you join us.

Don't Miss Out! Our TINY Wellbeing Toolkit for Educators
Hey Amelia,
We hope this email finds you doing ok as these strange times continue to unfold around the world.
As parents and educators, we are huge advocates of supporting teacher wellbeing in our schools. Not only are teachers the most infectious people in our classrooms when it comes to student wellbeing, but we find that most teachers are so busy taking care of everybody else they rarely have the energy left to care for themselves.
And we want teachers to know how very grateful we are for all that they do.
So, if you’re a teacher, or you have a friend or family member who’s a teacher, or you have kids in school and are looking for a meaningful way to thank a teacher, then today, we’re super excited to share our new offerings for teachers and schools.
Given most teacher’s struggle to find the time to sit down and eat lunch each day, we know that any effort to help them care for their wellbeing needs to be TINY! With this in mind, our team of wellbeing experts at The Education Lab – all of whom are teaching in schools – have designed our new Wellbeing Fast Track live online program.
Designed to deliver short, powerful, socially interactive boosts that are immediately actionable and measurable, you’ll quickly build the skills to:
Stress less
Leverage your neurological strengths
Connect with anyone (yes, even the most challenging colleague or parent!)
Create daily jolts of joy
Avoid burnout
Keep moving even with all you have on your plate.
For just $77 per person (or even less for teaching teams or whole schools) this seven-week program kicks off on 27th July, 2020 and will provide you with:
7 x live 30-minute class – You’ll walk away with bite-sized, scientific insights into your wellbeing and tiny tools you can immediately apply, and have a chance to chat one-on-one with teachers and staff in other schools, so you can learn from each other.
7 x live group coaching calls – We know caring for your wellbeing can be hard. So, after the weekly call, if you want to stay and chat to our wellbeing coaches, we’ll be hanging out for the next 30 minutes.
7 x cheat sheets and challenges – To help you transfer your learning into the real world, we’ll provide a cheat sheet summarizing the key content, and a tiny wellbeing challenge (that will take no more than 30 seconds each day), so you can immediately apply what you’re learning.
An evidence-based Wellbeing Toolbox – Throughout the training, we’ll be giving you a range of tiny tools to help you care for your wellbeing. These are yours to steal-with-pride and use to support yourself and others.
Recordings of all classes – If you want to go back at your own pace, or you can’t make it to the live class one week, then you’ll have the recording, which is yours to keep.
Bonus resources – Our online platform makes it easy to access all the materials, to chat to us and each other during the week in the forums, and to access further resources including podcasts and bonus cheat sheets with the world’s leading wellbeing researchers.
Just click here to learn more.
You can join for yourself (or gift it to a teacher you admire), get your teaching team to tackle it together, or make it available for all the adults in your school.
But hurry, places are limited, and this price will go up at midnight on Wednesday 24th June.
Got questions? Just hit reply and ask us. We’re always happy to help.
After all, as Golda Meir wisely said, “Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement.”
Warmest wishes,
Michelle, Alli & The Education Lab Team

Despite the wealth of free information we’ve packed into the new PERMAH Wellbeing Survey reports, we still often get asked, “What do my scores really mean for me?”
As you’ll appreciate, the answer is, “It depends on what is most important in your world.”
You see, we’re always very careful to try and do no harm when it comes to providing people with resources and tools to improve their wellbeing.
And while we appreciate that your brain loves simple answers – like this score is good, and that score is bad – when it comes to caring for your wellbeing, we know you’re intelligent enough to want honest answers, even if they are a little less clear cut.
After all, you might score a seven out of ten for your social wellbeing, which most wellbeing surveys would suggest is a healthy score. But if you’re someone who thrives on relationships, this may actually be a disappointing score compared to what you need or want it to be. In contrast, if you’re someone who struggles with relationships, this may be a miraculous score worthy of serious celebration.
The truth is when it comes to measuring your wellbeing, context matters.
This is why the new, free PERMAH Wellbeing Survey provides you with:
Helpful coaching questions throughout your free report, to help you make sense of your scores based on the situations you’re in and the outcomes you want.
The opportunity to talk through your results with one our wellbeing coaches so you can confidently take action to improve the scores that matter to you the most.
START THE FREE PERMAH WELLBEING SURVEY NOW
Finally, a huge congratulations to Wendy Zhao for winning a free Survey debrief from our competition last week. We can’t wait to help you take the next step in caring for your wellbeing.
If you’ve missed out, don’t worry. To celebrate the launch of the new and improved PERMAH Wellbeing Survey, until midnight on Friday the 3rd of April EST, you can book a 20-minute Survey debrief with one of our coaches for just $49. But hurry, as this price will have to go up.

Hey Amelia,
We hope you're doing okay as these uncertain times continue. We've been focused on trying to help others - in particular, teachers - this week with the launch of our first Education Lab Workplace Report on the state of teacher wellbeing.?
If you'd like to see how teachers are doing, just click here to download your free copy
and grab a free video of Dr. Peggy Kern sharing her thoughts and recommendations.
In the meantime, here are three of the things we learned this very unusual week:
Do you receive feedback well?
?In this week's podcast,
Harvard lecturer Sheila Heen, who is an expert on managing difficult negotiations, talks to us about the science and art of receiving feedback to support our learning and growth. Her insights on why feedback can feel like a gift and a colonoscopy have changed the way I'm listening to my development opportunities!
Can you practice polarity thinking? ?In this podcast,
our co-founder Louis Alloro interviewed Cliff Kayser on polarity thinking and how our ability to hold space for "and," even when it feels like two ideas are competing, can improve our creativity, performance, and wellbeing.
Are you talking honestly about racism in your workplace? Grab this article
from our interview with coach Valorie Burton on how you can create safe spaces to talk more openly and honestly about the realities of racism in your workplace, so you can practice racial empathy together.
After all, as Ken Blanchard wisely said, "Feedback is the breakfast of champions."?
Warmest wishes, Michelle & Team
P.S. ?We want to express our heartfelt thanks to teachers around the world for all they have done to help kids keep learning during COVID-19. To help, we've created The Education Lab Wellbeing Fasttrack live seven-week online program for just $87 dollars (or less if you do it as a teaching team or school to support teacher wellbeing) - just use the discount code THANKYOU10.?Click here to learn more, but hurry as places are filling fast.

Last chance to save 20% on our best-selling wellbeing tools
Hey Amelia,
We just wanted to let you know that your chance to save 20% off our best-selling products is about to close.
We know you might be wondering if they’re really worth your money and if now is the right time to buy, so we just wanted to be completely straight with you about three important caveats on any of these products.
Firstly, we don’t pretend to have all the answers. Nor do our tools.
But if you’re someone who loves to get inspired by the latest research on wellbeing and positive change and loves easy, playful ways to share it with others, then that’s what our tools excel at – making it easier for you.
Secondly, you may already know all the science featured in our tools.
It’s true! If you’ve been exploring and practicing the science of wellbeing and positive change, we may have nothing new for you. But even though the concepts may be familiar, in our experience, we can always learn more from how other great teachers, coaches, and facilitators find ways to share the science with others. Are you really beyond learning how others have found successful ways to make the kind of positive difference you long to make in the world?
Thirdly, you may feel that the tools we’ve created won’t work for you or the people you want to help.
We get it, context matters! And sometimes it's hard to imagine the kind of value you can get from digital tools. That’s why we offer a 100% no questions asked, money-back guarantee. If you find our tools don’t add value, then we want to refund your money. After all, we’re learning as well.
So, if you feel like a little extra help to help yourself and others thrive is just what you need, then click the button below, enter the code MMCQTHANKS in the checkout and save 20% on all of our tools – store wide!
But hurry this sale ends at midnight.
Warmest wishes,
Michelle & The Collective

Hey Amelia,
As we’ve been crunching numbers for our Practitioner Lab Insights event later this week, we were sure that the data had a terrible mistake.
Workers who were reporting high levels of feeling alone and isolated at work were also reporting high levels of wellbeing and performance.
How could this be? It had us all – Drs. Peggy Kern and Mandy O’Neill and Louis Alloro – scratching our heads.
You see, like you, we’ve spent the last few years exploring the research headlines that loneliness is bad for our wellbeing and performance at work and that workplaces need strategies to put an end to it.
So, we did what a bunch of data nerds do best and dove deeper into the data to try and understand what was happening.
Was it a kink in the information gathered? Had the question been misunderstood? Or was something unexpected happening?
What we discovered has changed the way we will recommend workplaces tackle loneliness as more and more workers continue working from home.
If you’d like a sneak-peek at what else we discovered – and practical tips for how workplaces can tackle loneliness and other wellbeing challenges during this interesting time – we have a special invitation for you to join us for our new Practitioner Lab Insights.

Hey Amelia,
We hope your week has gone well in what continues to be a very unusual time.
This week, we’ve been busy talking to the media about some of the insights surfacing from our latest study of 1,000 US workers where we discovered:
Only 21.6% of workers who have been sent home due to COVID-19 are feeling positive about returning to work.
The biggest struggles workers feel they are facing right now are caring for their mental health, dealing with change at work, and managing money at home.
Only 2 out of every 10 workers feel it is safe to share their struggles at work.
If you’d like a sneak peek at what else we discovered – and practical tips for how workplaces can tackle these challenges – we have a special invitation for you to join us for our new Practitioner Lab Insights Series.
For those of you that wish to join us live, we’ll be gathering online via Zoom on:

Melbourne – Friday 29th May from 7 am – 8.30 am
Auckland – Friday 29th May from 9 am – 10.30 am
Can’t make this time? Grab a ticket and we’ll send you the recording.
Either way, you’ll discover more about:
The Wellbeing Confidence Crisis: Why Workers Need Wellbeing Skills, Not Just PPE & Benefits
Dr. Michelle McQuaid will be interviewing Dr. Peggy Kern and will take us behind the headlines of the latest American wellbeing survey data (gathered at the start of May 2020), and what these insights suggest for leaders and HR teams who want to improve wellbeing and resilience in their workplace.
Leaders Are The Secret Weapon: Why All It Takes Is A Regular Dose Of Care, Compassion & Appreciation
Associate Professor Mandy O’Neill takes a deeper dive into what the survey data suggests for leaders, and the opportunities they have to show more care, compassion, and appreciation to boost their worker's wellbeing and performance.
Why Many Workers Are Reluctant To Return: How Workplaces Can Make Getting Back To Work More Successful
Louis Alloro will share what we learned about workers who have started working at home due to coronavirus and the simple steps workplaces can take to help these people thrive as they navigate the ongoing uncertainty of where they are located.
And of course, you’ll also have the opportunity to ask these speakers for their guidance on ways to improve wellbeing in any workplace.

Hey Amelia,
Happy Friday! ?We hope you are finding ways to gently embrace the struggle that seems to be unfolding around us in the world. As you look for ways to help yourself and others care for their wellbeing during this time of uncertainty, please remember that our research consistently finds that thriving doesn't require us to problem-free.
In fact, new research that we'll share over the coming weeks has consistently found, across thousands of people, that feelings of struggle or stress are simply signs that something important to us requires our attention. ?And when we have the psychological safety to talk about these signs with each other at work, we are far more likely to feel able to care for our wellbeing. ??
So try to keep looking for ways to make it safe for people to talk about what they're feeling. ?And if you need a safe place yourself, remember we are only a click away in the Positive Psychology Playground.
In the meantime, here are three of the things we learned this week:
Are You Feeling Out Of Balance At Work?
?In this podcast
?with Professor Stewart Friedman, we explore how peer coaching approaches can help us find more balance between the needs of our careers, our family, our community, and ourselves. ?We were so inspired by his simple tips to set this up, that we're already using it with some of our clients.
Are You Using The MAGIC Factors To Create Positive Change??In this week's podcast
?our co-founder Michelle Etheve?takes over the microphone and puts me in the hot seat about the five MAGIC factors our research has found that can help you create positive change in your workplace.
Do You Know The SMART Way To Ask For Help?
?During times of uncertainty, most of us fear asking for help, but that is the very moment when we need to be reaching out to our networks and seeing how we can support each other. Grab this article in which Professor Wayne Baker gives us his practical tips for asking for help in ways that result in more people saying "yes!" to your requests.?

“A refreshing and exciting approach to change and positivity. The teachers live it and breathe it and have inspired and prepared me to go out and do it.”Brett Leadbetter
“Great return on investment. I’ve already completed lots of training and certification courses on a range of diverse topics, but this one was a highlight for me. The program will challenge and extend your thinking about change, leadership, and how to be the very best change agent you can be, no matter your role.”Danielle Jacobs

We hope you are doing okay as 2020 winds down.
Every year around this time, I like to take the time for recovery and rest so I can get ready to start the next year feeling renewed. One of my go-to rituals is to clean out all the stuff I’ve been hanging onto during the year, so I can make space to welcome new possibilities.

These beautifully-designed cards feature each of the 24 VIA character strengths, with easy-to-understand work-focused summaries and suggestions for how the strengths can be applied in work settings. Hey Amelia,
Are we nearly there? ?Is it just us, or does it feel like the light at the end of the COVID-19 tunnel is getting further away? ?While we look on with envy as New Zealand and some parts of Australia appear to have beaten the virus, for those of us located in places where such an outcome still feels months and maybe even years away, it can be hard to keep finding the energy each day to put one foot in front of the other.
It feels like this is a moment, for many of us, when our levels of resilience and our ability to live well in the midst of struggle get real. This is why we were so relieved when our wonderful co-founder of The Leaders Lab, Dr. Paige Williams, launched her brand new, completely free AntiFragile Survey this week. Combining leading research in neuroscience, wellbeing, and leadership with the latest evidence in behavioral change, the survey is a wonderful way for each of us to learn to thrive in the uncertain and complex environment we find ourselves in right now. ?
Just click to see how you're doing.
In the meantime, here are three of the things we learned this very unusual week:
Are You Reaching For Gratitude At Work? ?In this week's podcast, I interviewed the amazing Professor Robert Emmons to help us understand the latest research findings and practices on leveraging gratitude in workplaces. It took us nearly two years to lock in this interview, but it was worth the wait! We really loved his tips on why, right now, with all that is happening in the world, even for him, gratitude can be hard to reach for, and how gratitude forecasting is getting him through!
What Is The Art of Coaching? ?In this podcast, our co-founder Michelle Etheve interviewed the wonderful Christian Van Nieuwerburgh on the art of coaching. Given studies are finding that coaching is one of the most effective ways to amplify wellbeing efforts in workplaces (far more effective than EAP), we loved the simple way Christian broke down the steps for us to be better coaches.
Can You Become AntiFragile? ?Grab this article from our interview with Dr. Paige Williams on the evidence-based ROBUST practices that can help you be more AntiFragile as the uncertainty and disruption in many workplaces continue.
After all, as Vince Lombard wisely said, "It's not whether you got knocked down; it's whether you get back up."?

Hey Amelia,
This week we're inviting you to take a little victory lap with us as we celebrate sharing 200 episodes of learning and growth together for The Making Positive Psychology Work podcast. Our heartfelt thanks for all your guest suggestions, your feedback and your willingness to share these podcasts with others to help more people thrive at work all over the world. Whoo hooo!
To continue stretching our learning, we've also been back out in the Australian marketplace gathering more research insights from 1,400 workers on how they are coping with all the changes COVID and the economic downturn are creating and we've found that:
39.1% of Australian workplaces and teams feel they are consistently thriving when it comes to the changes happening in their workplaces over the last three months even in the midst of COVID chaos.
The challenge is that 68.9% of Australian workers say they don't feel completely confident when it comes to helping their workplaces create positive change.
Given less than 20% of Australian workplaces offer workshops, coaching or tools to help their people navigate change more effectively, this data suggests that small investments in improving worker's abilities to confidently navigate change could bring significant benefits.

In the meantime, here are three of the things we learned this very unusual week:
Do You Really Understand How Your Brain Works? ?To celebrate our 200th episode in this week's podcast I interviewed Dr. Dan Siegel on how we can integrate all the parts of our brain to help us feel safer and more confident as we navigate changes at work. ? Don't miss Dan's explanation of how you can use your hand to educate anyone - even a child - about how our brains work.
Can Your Workplace Become More Human? ?In this podcast, our co-founder Dr. Paige Williams interviewed Dr. Gary Hamel to explore the practical steps we can take to make our workplaces more human centered and less bureaucratic.
In The Midst Of Uncertainty Can You Be An Island Of Sanity? Grab this article from our interview with Dr. Meg Wheatley on how you can be an island of sanity despite the uncertainty and disruption that might surround your workplace, school or community right now.
After all, as Bill Murray wisely said, "This is not a dress rehearsal, this is your life."

Hey Amelia,
We hope your week is going as well as possible in what continues to be a very unusual time.
We’re reaching out because, like us, we know you’re someone who wants the inside scoop on best-practice approaches to positive change right now. So, did you know:
More than 35% of workplaces provide no support for their people when it comes to learning how to navigate change at work?
Workplaces that offered change workshops, coaching, and positive change tools during the past three months, were statistically significantly more likely to have workers who felt able and motivated to create positive changes?
The biggest struggle workers feel they face is coping with the uncertainty that change brings?
Despite the often-cited belief in workplaces that it is the pace of change that is burning people out, our data found that even during COVID, it is not the pace, but the way change is approached, and the change skills that workers have, that make the biggest difference.

Hey Amelia,
Are you feeling in need of a break from the world? ?We get it. Whether it's a staycation at home because you can't go anywhere, or a few days escape away like I managed to take with my family last week, if life feels overwhelming right now there is something to be said for turning off all the noise of our devices, pulling out a good book, and giving ourselves the time to rest. Personally, I find disconnecting and resting one of the most underutilized wellbeing interventions we have!
Because here is the hard truth we have come to appreciate over the last week as new waves of COVID-19 emerge and economic realities become undeniable, the hardest work of this moment in history is unfortunately still in front of us. We truly believe that each of us who feel called to help people's wellbeing in the world are going to be needed to help workplaces, schools, and communities create positive changes in ways we have never imagined before.
It's why this week we've once again opened up our Certificate in Creating Positive Change which fuses the science of positive psychology and wellbeing with systems thinking, human-centered design and behavioral change so we can put the latest research, tools and a community of support at your fingertips. So, if you're feeling like it's no longer enough to simply understand how to support people's wellbeing, but you need a better way to help people, teams, and entire systems to change their behaviors then click here to learn more (hurry this week you can save $500).
In the meantime, here are three of the things we learned this very unusual week:
Can You Collaborate More Effectively? ?In this week's podcast, at the recommendation of the wonderful Professor Jane Dutton, I interviewed Dr. Jody Hoffer Gittell on her extensive research on relational collaboration in workplaces. ?I really valued the insights she provided on creating shared goals and shared accountability in the midst of a crisis.
Is Your Energy, Attitude & Mindset Antifragile? ?In this podcast, our co-founder Louis Alloro interviewed the wonderful Dr. Paige Williams on the science and practices of becoming antifragile. ?Be sure to take Paige's new free antifragile survey to see how you're doing.
3 Ways To Make Receiving Feedback Easier.Grab this article from our interview with Dr. Sheila Heen on how you overcome the triggers that make receiving feedback challenging at work in order to maximize your opportunities for learning and growth.

Hey Amelia,
There’s a great meme we recently saw that reads, “Thought it would all be over by June? You’ve been Ju-lied! Welcome to the Decade of Disruption.”
One of our “sheroes,” Dr. Meg Wheatley, a systems change scholar and activist, suggests that, “It is possible, as we face the fearful complexity of life-destroying problems, to experience recurring moments of grace and joy. It is possible, as leaders of organizations, communities, and families, to discover deep and abiding satisfaction in our work, if we choose not to flee or withdraw from reality. It is possible to use our influence and power to create islands of sanity in the midst of a raging, destructive sea. So much is possible if we consciously and wisely choose how best to step forward as leaders for this time.”
But how?
To find out, join Meg, The Change Lab Team (Dr. Michelle McQuaid, Louis Alloro, and Michelle Etheve), and hundreds of change champions – just like you – from all over the world, for our next FREE 90-minute Appreciative Inquiry Workshop online.

Here’s what you’ll get in return for your time participating in this event:
You’ll hear from Dr. Meg Wheatley herself on how we can build islands of sanity at this chaotic time.
You’ll get to meet wonderful practitioners from all over the world, including graduates of our Certificate in Creating Positive Change program, as we come together to discover, dream, design, and deliver ways to help workplaces evolve.
You’ll come away with new tools to help others, and that you can share with others, including our participant guide, which you can use in your own online events.

Hot-off-the-research-desk: August data shows how some workers are thriving even in the midst of constant COVID uncertainty and disruption
.emailview
Hey Amelia,
How are you? If you’re fed up and exhausted with all the changes COVID has wrought, we hear you!
When the COVID chaos first hit our world in March, we were full of hope for how we could use these unwelcome changes to help workers learn how to care for their wellbeing. But as Zoom calls became the new normal and people’s levels of attention and energy diminished even further, it felt like nothing any of us were doing was ever quite enough. And we have to confess, there have been days when it felt like the best way to care for everyone’s wellbeing was simply to go to bed with a good book and rest (there must be an evidence-based intervention for that!).
So, as the month of August arrived and it became clear that we still have months and maybe even a year of COVID chaos to still navigate, we decided it was time to head back into the market to ask 1,500 Australian workers and workplaces how they are really doing. In particular, we wanted to learn what’s working for those people who are still finding ways to thrive at work despite the months and months of uncertainty behind us and ahead of us.
Want to know what we found?
Join us for our latest Practitioner Lab Insights Event:
How To Thrive In The Face Of Constant Change
Drs. Lindsey Godwin and Michelle McQuaid share the latest insights from Australian workplaces on what it takes for workers to, not just survive constant uncertainty and disruption, but find ways to thrive amidst chaos and how this impacts their wellbeing and performance. Discover what leading workplaces are doing differently and how you can steal-with-pride their best principles and practices.
How Leaders Can Support Wellbeing and Performance In Uncertain Times
Dr. Paige Williams, co-founder of the Leaders Lab, takes a deeper dive into what the survey data suggests about why traditional leadership is broken and what we need to do to fix it; the biggest opportunity leaders have to lead their teams to thrive; and the one thing leaders could do to make the most difference – for themselves and their teams.
How HR Teams Can Help Their Workers More Confidently Navigate Change

Lowest price ever for our Certificate In Creating Positive Change.
Hey Amelia,
If you’ve been wondering if the next round of The Certificate In Creating Positive Change is right for you but still have your doubts, we get it.
Taking on a learning experience like this is a big commitment, particularly with all things you’re probably juggling already. It can feel much safer to wait for the next opportunity when you’re not so busy.
We each felt this way for years when opportunities came knocking for learning and growth. Until eventually, we realized that there was never going to be a right moment to get out of our comfort zones.
Because here’s the thing: nothing changes if nothing changes. Zero growth occurs.
And there came a point when the risk of taking no action at all became the greatest risk of all.
We understand that seizing an opportunity like The Certificate In Creating Positive Change can feel scary. But here’s what our most recent round of graduates who took the leap told us:
“One month after the end of the program, I am still buzzing, developing, and applying the content to my own program. Rich, hugely insightful, practical, and a beautifully presented and supported program. Absolutely worth your time and investment.” Louise Wiles
“A refreshing and exciting approach to change and positivity – the teachers live it and breathe it and have inspired and prepared me to go out and do it.” Brett Leadbetter
“This class helped to build my foundation in Appreciative Inquiry and gave me more confidence, motivation, and tools. I love that I was able to feel like I effectively learned while participating asynchronously.” Amalia Cochran
“Great return on investment. I’ve already completed lots of training and certification courses on a range of diverse topics, but this one was a highlight for me. The program will challenge and extend your thinking about change, leadership, and how to be the very best change agent you can be, no matter your role.” Danielle Jacobs
“I am a certified Change Management professional who has studied positive psychology at a certificate and graduate level, and found this program to be shooting off all kinds of new fireworks!” Samantha Fowlds
And this could be true for you as well.
If you’re ready to learn more about how to create more positive change in the world, and you’d like to be part of a kick-ass community of change champions, then come join us for the next round of the Certificate In Creating Positive Change.
But hurry! Places are limited, and registration closes at midnight on Sunday, the 1st of March.
Got questions? Just hit reply and ask. We’ll be happy to answer them on jump on the phone for a conversation to make sure the Certificate is right for you.
It’s our heartfelt hope that you can join us.
After all, as Bryan Walker of IDEO says, “Change can be hard and uncomfortable. But when it’s done with intention, it can be a beautiful force.”

Pick the brains of our school wellbeing coaches and get your 2021 school wellbeing strategy off to the best possible start!
.emailview
Hey Amelia,
Last week we had a flurry of interest in our Education Lab Mini-Masterclass, but as the name suggests, this is a slightly “boutique” offering, and our limited places are filling fast.
At a time where trying to plan anything has almost become a fool’s errand, caring for the wellbeing of teachers and students has never been more important. Inside the Education Lab Mini-Masterclass you will find wellbeing experts and system change ninjas. We are change leaders who can give you access to practical tools to positively influence your school system while supporting you to craft a chaos proof wellbeing strategy for your school.
So, if you are a school or wellbeing leader who is grappling with your 2021 wellbeing priorities given all the upheaval of this year and needing a safe, no-nonsense, been-there-done-that expert brain to pick – then this is the place to be.
The Education Lab Mini-Masterclass is a safe space to ask the hard questions – we want to support you so that your hopes can overcome your hurdles. We have been getting a few queries regarding this opportunity so we thought we would take a moment to answer some of the most common (and important) questions right now, to make sure you get all the information you need to decide if this opportunity is a good fit for you.
Q: “What am I really getting with the Education Lab Mini-Master Class?”
You get a safe space to speak freely about the good, the bad and the ugly as we help you figure out exactly what your school needs for 2021. There is no one magic program when it comes to improving wellbeing in schools. The Mini-Masterclass is where you can tap into wellbeing experts and leaders with vast expertise implementing a variety of tools, programs and approaches within schools to make it easier to decide what is the best approach for your school.
Q: “How does it work?”
We use a combination of leading, consulting and coaching. Our expert coaches will be with you every step of the way – listening to where you are at and supporting you to get to where you want to be. They will offer you wisdom and tools to help you overcome challenges and get your wellbeing priorities clear and humming for 2021.
There are five touchpoints over the nine weeks – two 30-minute lazer one-on-ones – just for you – and three one-hour small group sessions.
During your kick-off one-on-one coaching session, your coach will work with you to understand what will make Mini-Masterclass successful for you in terms of outcomes so we can tailor the content to your school’s needs. Then, before you finish the Mini-Masterclass, you’ll have a final one-on-one to make sure you have everything you need to deliver positive outcomes for your school.
We are keeping the coaching groups intentionally small to ensure you are seen, heard and supported in ways that meet your personal and contextual needs. So, if this is something you want to be a part of then don’t hesitate and risk missing out, secure your spot now.
Q: “When will the sessions run?”
The group sessions will be participant dependent – meaning we will try to accommodate what works best for those who sign up (there will only be around four people in each coaching group so should not be too much of a juggle). While you may not be able to attend every call – we understand that life happens – we want to make sure you get the most from your investment. We will do everything in our power to ensure this is a great fit for you in terms of content, other participants, and call times. If you can’t attend a session for any reason, you can submit questions and all sessions will be recorded.
Just click here to grab your spot.
But hurry – registrations close on Tuesday 6th of October and these are the few last spots as caps have been put in place so that we can help you set your school up for wellbeing success in 2021.
After all, as Ralph Waldo Emerson wisely said: “Don't be pushed by your problems. Be led by your dreams.”
Warmest wishes,
Michelle, Alli & Jess

Hey Amelia,
If, like us, you’ve been feeling that caring for your wellbeing has taken on a new level of complexity in 2020, as uncertainty and illness swirl around the world, we wanted to quickly pop into your inbox with a small gift to try and ease the challenge.
You see, over the past few years, our wellbeing research with Dr. Peggy Kern at the University of Melbourne has consistently found that having healthy levels of wellbeing, and being able to perform well at work, doesn’t require you to be free of struggle.
The truth is that feelings of struggle and stress are not signs that you are unwell or “broken.” They are signs that something important to you is happening that needs your attention. Provided you have the wellbeing knowledge, tools, and support to respond to these signs, struggles don’t have to undermine your wellbeing or performance. In fact, they can even enhance your learning and growth.
With this new data replicated across thousands of people around the world, we’ve been working hard over the past few months to update our popular, free PERMAH Wellbeing Survey with even more reliable questions and actionable insight-packed reports, so you can see how you’re really doing when it comes to caring for your wellbeing at work.
And today, we’re very excited to announce that it’s ready for you to step onto the wellbeing scales and see how you’re doing. Just click below to begin.
TAKE THE FREE PERMAH WELLBEING SURVEY
In less than five minutes, you’ll be able to safely and confidentially:

Our new Education Wellbeing Mini-Masterclass can help.

Hey Amelia,
Are you a principal, school leader, or educator with a wellbeing focus who is doing everything you can to take care of your staff and students, while only just keeping yourself afloat?
Do you dream of getting the help from wellbeing experts – with years of experience in implementing positive education – who could support and coach you through the end of 2020, and set you and your school up for wellbeing success in 2021, even in the ongoing midst of COVID-19 uncertainty?
Here’s the good news – there is an affordable and easy way to get the knowledge, resources, inspiration, motivation, and support you need.
It’s called The Education Lab Mini-Masterclass.
Kicking off in early October, and run by education wellbeing experts Alli Williamson and Jessica Taylor, the Mini-Masterclass is a gathering of people – just like you – who are using wellbeing and positive education approaches to make a difference for their school communities, and who are open to talking honestly about the mess and magic of positive education.
Designed as a nine-week, small-group masterclass, you’ll get all the support you need from your dedicated Education Lab Coaches to help you take the next steps to shape, deliver, and support your school’s wellbeing initiative while also benefiting from the social support of others on a similar journey.
What does The Education Lab Mini-Masterclass include?
A kick-off one-on-one session to identify your areas of focus and create your nine-week action plan.
Three weekly small-group learning masterclass calls, to learn how the wisdom of systems can help your school’s wellbeing plan, to check-in and report your progress, and to talk about any hurdles or roadblocks you’re facing, with time to co-create solutions.
An accountability buddy during the program.
Shared resources, tools, and best-practice wellbeing and positive education implementation tips, as discussed in the group calls.
Access to a supportive community of like-minded wellbeing and positive education practitioners who are walking the same path.
A wrap-up one-on-one session to ensure ongoing momentum to move your action plan forwards.
Can you afford to let this opportunity pass you by?
Just click here to learn more, or secure your place now – but hurry, as places are strictly limited.
And if all of this isn’t enough – as an added bonus, if you grab your spot within the next seven days, you’ll receive a bonus one-on-one coaching session that can be used any time until the 12th of January 2021. That’s $297 worth of value, for free!
Got questions? Just email alli@educationlab.com, and we’ll be happy to help.
After all, as Muhammad Ali wisely said, “Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men and women, who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been given, than to explore the power they have to change it.”
Warmest wishes,
Michelle, Alli, Jess, and

Hot-out-of-market, find out how workers are doing when it comes to their wellbeing and performance and what this might mean helping them return to work
.emailview
Hey Amelia,
It is our heartfelt hope that you’re hanging in there – maybe even thriving a little – as you navigate the ongoing changes our world and workplaces face.
As promised, we’ve been out in the market gathering more data on how all these changes are impacting worker’s levels of wellbeing and performance, and most importantly, gaining insights as to how we can all help support them.
The free report will be released on Friday 29th May, but if you’d like a sneak peek at the data and a behind the scenes conversation with the researchers, we have a special invitation for you to join us for our new Practitioner Lab Insights Series.
Here’s what’s happening.
For those of you that wish to join us live, we’ll be gathering online via Zoom on:
California (PST) – Thursday 28th May from 2 pm – 3.30 pm
New York (EST) – Thursday 28th May from 5 pm – 6.30 pm
London – Thursday 28th May from 10 pm – 11.30 pm
Melbourne – Friday 29th May from 7 am – 8.30 am
Auckland – Friday 29th May from 9 am – 10.30 am
Click here to check in other timezones.
We’ll be kicking off with a little social interaction so you can talk to other wellbeing researchers and practitioners from around the world and see how everyone is doing. We’ll also show you how Zoom makes running virtual meetings like this one easy to do.
Then we’ll be diving into the research findings together:
Even though this event is happening online, we are limiting the number of places to maximize the learning experience for all participants. At just $49AUD per person, this event will sell out (please note your small fee helps us fund further research which we make freely available to everybody).

Feel free to contact us with any questions about this event.
Hope to see you there.

Hey Amelia,
How are you doing?
If, like us, you’re feeling afraid and overwhelmed at the moment, just know that you are in good company and that these are very healthy responses to what is unfolding in our world.
While unplugging and heading for the wilderness or your bed for a while may seem tempting, please be in no doubt that right now, the world needs your interest and ability to figure out how we care for each other’s wellbeing, more than ever.
You are not alone in this.
We are right here with you looking for ways we can all step forward together to try and figure this out.
To that end, we were in the fortunate position of working with Dr. Peggy Kern from the University of Melbourne to gather wellbeing data from 1,000 Australians representatives of the working population in December 2019, which we were due to release on the 1st of April.
Given all that is happening in the world this week, we have gone back with updated questions from Peggy, to assess the impact coronavirus changes and economic fears are having on workers’ wellbeing and how workplaces can be supporting them.
And we would love to share these findings with you.
We had a live event planned in Melbourne to launch the findings, but we will now be delivering this online in an effort to care for everyone’s wellbeing. The good news is, whether you want to join us live – or you’d rather watch the recording at a time that suits you – you can now do so from anywhere in the world.
Here’s what’s happening.
For those of you that wish to join us live, we’ll be gathering online via Zoom on Wednesday the 1st of April from 5.15pm to 7.00pm Melbourne, Australia time.
We’ll be kicking off with a little social interaction so you can talk to other wellbeing researchers and practitioners from around the world and see how everyone is doing. We’ll also show you how Zoom makes running virtual meetings like this one easy to do.
Then we’ll be diving into the research findings together:
“Why Australian Workers Are Struggling When It Comes To Their Wellbeing” Dr. Michelle McQuaid will take us behind the headlines of the latest Australian wellbeing survey data, pre- and post-coronavirus, and what these insights suggest for leaders and HR teams who want to improve wellbeing and resilience in their workplace.
“Why Leaders Are The Untapped Leverage Point For Improving Wellbeing” Dr. Paige Williams takes a deeper dive into what the survey data suggests for leaders, and the opportunities they have to become more anti-fragile, given all the uncertainty and changes they are facing, by leveraging wellbeing for themselves, their teams, and their organizations.
“How HR Teams Can Lead The Way On Improving Wellbeing” Psychologist Danielle Jacobs will sit down with AHRI’s new CEO Sarah McCann-Bartlett to explore how HR teams can assess their current workplace wellbeing strategy, and discuss the simple steps they can take to begin immediately improving worker wellbeing.
And of course, you’ll also have the opportunity to ask these speakers for their guidance on ways to improve wellbeing in any workplace.
Even though this event is happening online, we are limiting the number of places to maximize the learning experience for all participants. At just $49 per person, this event will sell out.

Hope to see you there.

Hey Amelia,
We hope you’ve found some joyful ways to care for your wellbeing over the weekend.
I have to confess, however, that with so much uncertainty swirling around the world at the moment, I find it easy to rationalize a Netflix binge with plenty of sweet foods for company as “caring for my wellbeing.” But the mental restlessness, and the sugar hangover that follows, tells me that it’s probably not.
The truth is that just like you, I’m in good company when it comes to struggling to care for my wellbeing. Yes, even with all the wellbeing research and tools we have at our fingertips!
This is because caring for our wellbeing is not a one-time decision that we make, but rather one hundred small decisions that we have to make over and over again, each day, as the world around us continues to change. And inevitably, we are going to get some of these wrong.
So, how can we avoid making exhausting mistakes when it comes to caring for our wellbeing?
TAKE THE FREE PERMAH WELLBEING SURVEY
When we recently updated our popular, free PERMAH Wellbeing Survey, we spent weeks crafting actionable, insight-packed reports to make it easier for you to care for your wellbeing.
Not only will your free report immediately provide you with a reliable and confidential measure of your wellbeing, you’ll be guided step-by-step to:
Assess what’s working well, where you’re struggling, and what you’re learning about caring for your wellbeing, to help you become more intelligent about the wellbeing choices that work best for you
Adjust your wellbeing goals by reaching for self-compassion instead of self-criticism and, like a wise and kind coach, start holding yourself accountable to apply what you’ve learned, or to seek help where you need it
Act and take the next step in caring for your wellbeing with nudges, tiny habits, or a wellbeing coach to help experiment with more than 200 small, evidence-based wellbeing activities that can be fit into even the busiest of days

Hey Amelia,
How many people can safely ride in an elevator? Will you need a plexiglass barrier around your desk? Will there be a limit to the number of people allowed to gather for a meeting at one time? How will you read your colleague’s face when most of it is hidden behind a mask?
What might the new “normal” of work look like over the coming months, given physical distancing guidelines will have to remain in place until a COVID-19 vaccine is discovered, or the virus is eradicated?

Hey Amelia,
We hope you are staying safe and well during this unprecedented time. If like us, you've been wondering what you can do to help people right now, then we're putting our hands up to ask for your help.
Given the most consistent finding in the research to support our wellbeing at work is that “other people matter,” it has been staggering to hear well-intentioned health experts around the world suggest we should be “socially distancing” ourselves from each other.
Of course, what they actually mean, is that we need to be “physically distancing” right now in order to care for each other’s wellbeing. However, given words create worlds, this has been a most unfortunate choice of language at a time when most people are already feeling vulnerable and confused.
Gladly, in the last few days, the World Health Organization has now recognized this error, but we believe it will take a concentrated effort from every available voice to change this conversation and offer people small, virtual ways they can stay socially connected during these unusual times.
And we need your help to make this happen.
Join Professor Jane Dutton, Mo McKenna and The Change Lab Team (Dr. Michelle McQuaid, Louis Alloro and Michelle Etheve) for a FREE 90-minute virtual Appreciative Inquiry Workshop to help us figure out how we can do this together.
To be clear, this will not be a talkfest. Here’s what you’ll get in return for your time participating in this event:
You’ll hear Professor Dutton’s thoughts on how we can support people during this challenging time to maintain high quality connections and practice compassion.
You’ll get to meet wonderful practitioners from all over the world as we come together to discover, dream, design, and deliver ways to help people be physically distanced and socially connected.
You’ll come away with a treasure chest of new tools to help others and that you can share with others.
You’re welcome to take our AI Workshop participant guide and steal-it-with-pride for your own online events.
You’ll get to see how we use Zoom (a video conference platform) to run virtual AI Summits and Workshops all over the world.
We would be so grateful if you would join us − all you need is an internet connection and web browser − but places are limited and you need to be able to join us live – so make sure you grab your seat below.

Hey Amelia,
If you get out bed each day hoping to help others create positive change then you know that many people find it challenging to stick with the changes they want to see, even when they’re highly motivated.
I have to confess that when I set off to study the science of human flourishing, I was sure that it would finally give me a simple formula to help people thrive as they created change.
But by the end of my Masters in Positive Psychology, what I found I had was lots of interesting research insights - from being Strengths Focused, to using Appreciative Inquiry, leveraging Hope Theory, creating Tiny Habits, building Self-Determination, practicing a Growth Mindset, reaching for Self-Compassion and many other evidence-based ideas - but no easy and meaningful way to put them together to help people create positive changes.
So, I started experimenting with simple ways to integrate the best of the research into a step-by-step coaching process that I could joyfully, effectively, and affordably use to help others by building:
A Strengths Coaches Toolbox to help people discover the true, the good, and the possible about who they are in ways that fuelled their confidence, energy, and commitment for the lives they wanted to be living. Fusing popular strengths assessment tools like the VIA Survey and Gallup Strengths Finder with Appreciative Inquiry, this toolbox makes it easier for people to connect their strengths to the changes they want to create.
A Wellbeing Coaches Toolbox to help people feel better and function more effectively. Fusing Professor Martin Seligman’s PERMA wellbeing theory with Appreciative Inquiry, this toolbox makes it easier for people to create small, everyday wellbeing habits they want to stick with.
After helping people from all walks of life use these approaches to improve their wellbeing, their work, and their life, I packaged up everything I had created and made them available for people just like you who also want to help others.
Within days these done-for-you, steal-them-with pride coaches toolboxes became our biggest selling products with people raving about the opportunity to rebrand our coaching templates and use them as their own to help people create more positive changes in their world.
At just $97 each of these toolboxes remain an incredibly affordable and effective way to help you to create positive change in the world. And until midnight on Monday, you can save 20% off the normal price.
But hurry, as we know these toolboxes provide such great value later this week we will be raising their prices to help us fund more of the many free resources we provide for you. That means this is the last time you will ever be able to buy these toolboxes so cheaply.
