There’s a cold snap in the air and snow is on the horizon. Over the steps of The Berkeley, the season’s first snowflakes start to appear. White and beautifully bright, this eagerly awaited weather front is our Snowfall installation – created from a canopy of thousands of tiny, twinkling lights. Strikingly suspended across the night’s sky, it’s as artistic as it is atmospheric.

SEASON’S GREETINGS
SEASON'S
GREETINGS
Silver bells give way to the silver screen this season, with the return of our rooftop winter cinema. The curtain was raised on 15 November with family-friendly Home Alone and rom-com classic The Holiday. Accompanying our movies by moonlight will be mulled wine, mince pies and festive fare with a Berkeley twist.

IN THE LAPLAND OF LUXURY
On the night before Christmas, carols, champagne and a promise of snowfall await our guests. Putting our own spin on the season’s timeless traditions, The Berkeley sets the scene for an unforgettable two-night stay – with (sleigh) bells on. There are stockings for little ones, elegant gifts for grown-ups, and a memorable ride around Belgravia in our enchanting horse-drawn carriage. All rounded off with a five-course festive feast in the Collins Room. Then there’s Boxing Day…
Striking, distinctive and shining bright over Mayfair, The Connaught Christmas Tree for 2019 is the work of the inimitable Sean Scully. A close friend of the hotel, the internationally acclaimed artist has described his vivid, Suprematist-inspired creation as “wearing a starry night magician’s hat”. Adorned in four block colours, its 25,000 lights reflected in the iconic Tadao Ando fountain below, this captivating 9-metre creation simply has to be seen to be believed.

Since it opened, we've been so happy to see so many of you reuniting and revelling in The Garden at The Berkeley. And now, we're forecasting an Indian Summer by extending the season to 27 September. There's a hint of the balmy Balearics here, as sparkling festoon lights draped across olive trees and the scent of shellfish charring over flames make this the hottest (and coolest) alfresco dining spot to enjoy summer. Giant prawns, padron peppers and prime steak line up on the Green Eggs - our feature grills. And for dessert, ice cream cones in pastel shades are a far cry from 'vanilla': think turmeric and ginger, confit strawberry and meringue, and pi?a colada.?retro,?refined.

Never has there been a better time for the joy and comfort of cakes. Bringing little moments of luxury to Mount Street, we are so pleased to introduce The Connaught Patisserie to the neighbourhood. With its own entrance leading to a welcoming blush pink and bronze space, created by Ab Rogers Design to echo an intricate jewellery box, it is a celebration of craftsmanship - and dedicated to the fine art of pastry. Inside, the eclectic, evolving collection of 10 seasonal showstoppers by Executive Pastry Chef Nicolas Rouzaud and his team includes classics such as Paris-Brest and St Honor?, as well as contemporary flavours in the Yuzu ?clair. And its centrepiece is the cocoa-rich Connaughty Hound, the hotel's faithful emblem reimagined as an edible work of art. For chocolate connoisseurs, this will also be the only place outside of the River Caf? serving its iconic Chocolate Nemesis. Take home a beautifully boxed slice or celebration cake. Or take a seat beneath the bespoke timepiece that, instead of keeping time, strikes 'croissant o'clock' - and treat yourself to something really?special.

It feels wonderful to be writing with good news. I am delighted to share with you that The Connaught's collection of rooms and suites will reopen for stays from?14th?July.
While the much-loved character and warm welcome of The Connaught will always stay the same, we are making modifications for your safety and comfort, including an advanced cleaning programme following Government, Public Health England and WHO?guidance.
Some measures will be clear to see, such as electronic menus in our restaurants and personal amenity kits containing face masks, sanitiser and disinfectant wipes in our rooms and suites. Others will be discreetly done, including the thermal imaging cameras at the hotel's entrances.
For further information on our cleaning policy, please visit our website.

GIFTS & EXPERIENCES
A LITTLE GIN-SPIRATION
When 'locktail hour' comes around, there's nothing better than gin for a long, summery aperitif. While our Master Mixologist, Agostino Perrone, waits to be reunited with the Connaught Bar's Martini trolley, he has shared his secret recipes (and techniques) for a duo of gin-based cocktails, as well as the ingredients used to create them. Bring a little fizz to Fridays with home-made lemon sage sherbet, mixed with Connaught Bar Gin to make the zesty Home Collins. Or stir things up with Peach of Mayfair, best served in your finest Martini glass and able to be bottled - if there's any left, of?course.
MASTER THE MIX
SUPPER IS SERVED
Enjoy a break from the kitchen and have the inimitable Jean-Georges prepare supper instead. For all those craving his signature market-to-table dishes, a selection of favourites are now available for collection or local delivery. Sit down to an alfresco lunch of the much-loved (and missed) pizzas: black truffle, prosciutto or asparagus and spiced salami editions. Watch the sun set with a three-course dinner including peppery Wagyu beef and a beautifully dressed chocolate brownie. Or elevate Saturday nights with the Somerset brie and black truffle-topped?burger.
