Outdoor Seating & Food Updates

Our back patio service is officially over. But we will still have alley and sidewalk seating Tuesday thru Sunday evenings. This Saturday, we will not offer food takeout or on premise dining because we are hosting our Liquid Dreams Fest. Food service will be available Friday and Sunday only this week. Next week, we'll be pivoting to expanded delivery and take out with a new menu. Stay tuned and stay safe!

About the beer:

Krampbiscus is named in honor of Saint Nick''s more punitive-minded, goat-demon counterpart, Krampus. It is a Fruited Ale w/ Cranberries and Raspberries at 6.5%ABV.

Every Krampusnacht, the eponymous figure stalks from house to house punishing naughty children, swatting them with ruten and stuffing them into his bag to carry them back to hell. To escape his clutches and throw him off our scent, we created this smooth and fruity whale suffused with raspberry and cranberry. Its big cranberry notes and flaked-oat creamy mouthfeel compels him to skip our house and move on to the next.

Sure, after a cuppa two or tree ox horns we might be half in the bag, but at least we won''t be in Krampus'' bag--he doesn''t even have pretzels in there!

This is the last weekend you will be able to hang with us on our back patio! Please join us as we celebrate six years of Making Marz.

This year, we are creating a VIP experience for groups of 4-6 people to indulge in a wide variety of our beers, enjoy a sampling of food from Mom's, and get some sick anniversary swag.

There will be two sessions available with 100 minute seating periods - Noon & 2:15 pm.

What''s included in your package:

The Marz Bin of Beer
Each table will receive a bin of beer on the rocks (5-6 beers per person) to share at your table. It will include over 15 different styles and flavors of beers including three new releases: Liquid Dreams - our festival namesake Double IPA, People Power - a New England IPA to support the ACLU, and Forest on Marz - a very special barrel aged sour collaboration with our buddies at Forest & Main If you run out of a beer you like and want another, just ask and ye shall receive.

Guided Tasting
Marz brewers and founders will share stories and tasting notes for several of the beers, and our chefs will also speak about the food you will eat.

Delicious Food
Mom's Chicago, the Marz Kitchen team, are creating special bento boxes for the occasion. Each guest will receive their choice of a Katsu Sando Bento or Tamago Sando Bento. Additional a la carte food from Mom''s will also be available at the event.

Swag
This year, we are making 6 different long sleeve shirts. On the front, there will be a different symbol from the Marz logo system with a Marz Mandala design on the back. Each person will receive one long sleeve shirt. You select the size, and we will choose a Marz symbol for each person.

We will also provide one 42.5cl Rastal Teku glass to each guest, which will be your tasting glass for the evening.

Performance
If you have been to Liquid Dreams in past years, you know it wouldn''t be complete without an encounter with Lord of the Yum Yum. He'll be there.

Packages are $85 per person. All health and safety guidelines must be followed - physical distancing, face coverings when not at tables, etc.

We have some great news from the Marz Front!

We are super excited to announce that we hired the team at Mom''s Chicago to help manage our Community Kitchen Initiative, a project that will provide 900 meals a week to local residents until the end of December, 2020. More info about the project can be found here.

They are also running our Marz Kitchen and Pop Up program. As you know we love Mom''s and we know you will too. Come and hang with us and eat their food outdoors in our parking lot behind the brewery!

We will be open to the public on Saturday July 18, 4-8 pm. There will be no RSVPs for seating or any packages. It will be first come first serve seating. You must be 21+ over to attend. We will seat groups of 2 and 4. Please enter the parking lot by foot through our alley. All food and beverage ordering will be done through our on premise app to ensure a contactless experience. Guests will be required to wear masks when not seated. We hope to see you there!

Our Sunday Farmers Market is pretty rad. And this time, we''re honored to have Marz Cheesemonger Alisha Jones to table at the market to share her latest cheese project, Immortal Milk, with all of you.

Black is Beautiful collab with Weathered Souls

We are pleased to announce the release of Black is Beautiful - an Imperial Stout with Coconut and Vanilla at 10% ABV

Marz has partnered with San Antonio-based Weathered Souls Brewing to participate in the Black is Beautiful initiative; a collaborative effort amongst the brewing community and its customers, which attempts to bring awareness to the injustices that many people of color face daily. Almost 1,000 breweries are participating in this campaign to raise funds for organizations that support equality, inclusion, and social justice.

We took the base recipe for this robust imperial stout from Weathered Souls Brewing, and put our Marz spin on it by infusing it with coconut and vanilla for a sweet and smooth finish. Our buds at Omega Yeast generously donated their special strains to help make our Black is Beautiful beer.

Marz will be donating net proceeds from the sale of Black is Beautiful to the Chicago Community Bail Fund. The Chicago Community Bond Fund (CCBF) pays bond for people charged with crimes in Cook County, Illinois. Through a revolving fund, CCBF supports individuals whose communities cannot afford to pay the bonds themselves, and who have been impacted by structural violence.

It''ll be available for home delivery and curbside pickup in the virtual cooler this weekend and in your favorite Marz spots next week.

Just when you thought Yakool couldn't get any cooler, the Marz Tummy Magic Super Team went and added mango and lime for some extra tummy magic. Stop by the patio this Superkool Saturday & Sunday, and get yer hands on the new Superkool 4pack! It comes with a free Yakool Air Freshener!

Superkool is a tart fruity jam that really highlights the fruit with little hop character. A beer perfect for the end of summer. Just opening the can will give you a tropical contact high. The active ingredient in Yakult, your favorite nonfat probiotic, is a little bacteria called lactobacillus, which beer fans might recognize as one of the strands of wild yeast used to brew sour beers. As our house lactobacillus was originally harvested from a similar source (yogurt), we decided to brew this wild ale in honor of our probiotic roots. Superkool is a sour ale with strawberries, mango, Lime and lactose at 7% ABV

Several weeks ago, our friends at Foxtrot Market in Chicago reached out to do a beer collaboration with us to raise funds for a charity. After weeks of planning, we are excited to announce the release of "What's Poppin". We brewed up a Hazy Pale ale that reminds of us Summertime. This brew was infused with a custom bubblegum tea blend to lend that signature 25 cent gum flavor and aroma then hopped with Belma, Mosaic, and Amarillo to really help make that bubblegum flavor pop. Expect classic bubble gum aroma with notes of strawberry, blueberry, and citrus on the pallet. What''s Poppin is a hazy pale ale with bubblegum tea at 6% ABV.

One dollar from every four pack sold will go to help provide meals produced by The Community Kitchen. The Community Kitchen is a food service program providing complementary box lunches to in-need residents, families and health care workers in Chicago. Currently, we provide 900 meals a week to local senior housing complexes, food pantries, hospital workers and residents of Chicago. Meals are created by our team of chefs and industry friends. We source proteins, produce and baked goods from local farms and bakeries whenever possible.

This brew will only be available exclusively at Foxtrot Market and Marz!

We also co-organize the Community of The Future farmer''s market, and purchase remaining produce from farmers after the market closes. The Community Kitchen uses Marz and Kimski's kitchen facilities to produce these healthy and delicious meals. The Community of the Future Market is a City of Chicago Licensed Farmers Market and food distribution program being hosted in the parking lot behind Marz Community Brewing every Sunday from 10 am - 2pm. We strive to provide a space for our community to purchase directly from farmers and vendors in a safe and comfortable manner. RSVP for our next market on August 2nd here!

Our patio will also be open from 11am-2pm during the market on Sunday''s as well as Saturdays from 3-8pm where we''ll be slangin'' food from Mom''s and your favorite Marz beverages. We Dry Hopped this IPA twice with heavy doses of Zappa hops which gives an ultra tropical stone fruit OJ vibe that harmonizes perfectly with Amarillo, Mosaic, and El dorado to amplify all those citrusy, mango, fruit notes. Holihaze is back and more holliday-ier than before. We took our base NE IPA and fermented it with Pinot Gris must and juice. We then gave this beer a massive Dry Hopping of Nelson Sauvin, Hallertau Blanc, Amarillo, and Citra Hops. The pinot gris contributes nice notes of gooseberry and apple, while the hops bring some lemongrass, pineapple, and a little peach lingering on the back end. This beer finishes has a bright mouthfeel and finishes slightly dry as well. We know that COVID has cancelled all of your holiday parties so we wanted to bring the party to you. Holihaze is a NE style IPA with Pino Gris Juice at 6.5% ABV.

Community of the Future Market and Patio Update

Tis'' the season for liters of Chug Life and Chugtoberfest. Our annual Chugtoberfest celebration will be taking place this Sunday on the patio. Our regular patio service will be on Saturday from 11am-7pm, and will be closed to the public on Sunday due to the festival. Although the event is sold out, you can still get some beer, swag and feast plates from The Wurst of Griffith, Indiana for curbside pickup!

The new Chug Life scarves arrived just in time for the weekend. You can pre-order one of these now along with a mixed 6/pack, 1 liter stein, and feast plates. Pre-orders end at noon on Saturday for pickup at our bottle shop Sunday.

If our summer patio got you hooked on Mom''s food and our beer, you can now order for curbside pickup and contact-free delivery starting this weekend! Food will be available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 4pm-8pm with delivery anywhere within a 6 mile radius of the brewery.

Happy August on Marz!

We are excited to announce our latest community project in partnership with The Love Fridge. The Love Fridge is a collective to nourish our communities while combating food scarcity and food waste. volunteers come from all over Chicago and work within their own communities to collaborate with local, like-minded partners to place community refrigerators across the city. These refrigerators, painted by local artists to reflect the communities in which they live, provide people with access to donate and/or take food with a goal of providing access 24/7 where possible.

The Marz Love Fridge is officially up and running at the brewery. Feel free to stock it with love! If you need food, take what you need. If you have extra food, come by and stock the fridge to feed others.

Extended Sunday patio hours

We are also excited to announce that we are extending our patio hours on Sunday during the Community of the Future Farmer''s Market. Our patio will now be open from 10am-2pm each Sunday during the market. The patio will also continue to be open on Saturday''s from 3pm-8pm. You can expect some new, tasty menu items from Mom''s each week to chow down with a Tokyo Drift or Jungle Boogie after shopping at the market. Seating is first come, first served. Face coverings required when not seated at your table.

We have more exciting news for you this week from the surface of Marz. Our patio will now be open every Saturday and Sunday! (weather permitting)

After our soft launch last weekend, we decided to start doing this every weekend. Our patio hours are Saturday from 3pm-8pm, and Sunday during the Community of the Future Market from 11am-2pm. Seating is first come first-served for groups of 2-4 persons.

The patio will feature a rotating menu of tasty burgers, sandwiches, donuts, and much more from Mom''s to pair with our beer. And we''ll have a full lineup of our beers and nonalcoholic beverages readily available for consumption on the patio. You can also order food and beer to go! You can preview the food and drink menu here.

The Community of the Future Market will be back again this Sunday from 10am-2pm behind the brewery. Each week, we will have a rotating selection of vendors. And the new patio will also be up and running during the market so you can grab a bite and beer after shopping. Don''t forget to RSVP for the market!

We are excited to announce the re-opening of our bottle shop for in-person shopping! Stop on buy this week and pick up some beer. Our hours have changed. We will be open Tuesday-Friday from 3pm-8pm and Saturday and Sunday from noon-8pm.

We''re also expanding our patio and outdoor seating. We''ll be open for food service on Thursdays and Fridays from 3-8pm with outdoor seating on our sidewalk and alley. And our back patio will be open noon to 8pm on Saturday and Sunday for on premise outdoor dining and drinking. Curbside pickup and contact-free delivery will still be available through our virtual cooler.

Today, we are releasing our much-anticipated collaboration with Chicago''s rising star ice skating drag queen, Denali Foxx to celebrate the Season 13 premiere of RuPaul''s Drag Race in partnership with our buddies at do312.

Denali's Winter Wildflower is a non-alcoholic 30mg CBD seltzer with a floral and citrus tone that is complemented by warm spices, inspired by Denali''s Alaskan upbringing and Mexican heritage. The beverage was brewed to capture the essences of Chicago's vibrant drag scene and queer community across Illinois.

A portion of proceeds from the beverage will be donated to El Rescate Transitional Living Program. The program benefits culturally appropriate, identity-affirming housing for homeless LGBTQ and/or HIV-positive youth in Chicago, providing youth with access to the HIV prevention services as well as employment & educational resources.
