I hope this email finds you doing well. It is hard to believe that summer has officially come to a close. I know this year has been filled with challenges of all kinds, but through it all, you have remained loyal in your support of the Marine Raider Foundation and the Marines, Sailors and families we are here to help. Please join me in celebrating our amazing community of donors and advocates who have helped to make a positive difference in the Marine Raider community through their efforts over the summer months. We also have a number of ways you can get involved with the Foundation through upcoming events.

Marine Raider Summer Sundry Challenge Raises $112,000!

While COVID19 drastically changed the fundraising landscape this summer, that sure didn''t stop our rock star team of runners, hikers, walkers, cyclists, rowers, and paddlers from making the 100-Mile Summer Sundry Challenge a smashing success! We honestly didn''t know how the event would be received, and secretly hoped that the Foundation might end up with $20,000 in donations once the event wrapped up. The event''s initial goal of $20,000 was reached before the official start of the Challenge on June 15th, which is absolutely incredible! Each week, I found myself adjusting the event goal as participants continued to add to their fundraising campaign totals! The event''s top five fundraisers totaled $46,000 plus - spectacular! Our Challenge team earned fundraising incentives for reaching specific campaign benchmarks, and in the end, the Foundation awarded 64 patches, 56 shirts, 33 hats, 29 pairs of Oakley sunglasses and 9 Miles for MARSOC race kits. We also awarded awards to our top fundraisers Derek, Peter, Michael and Kyle. From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank everyone who signed up, donated, and shared what will now become an annual event!

Rudy''s Texas BBQ Camo Cup for the Cause Raises Over $9,000 for the Marine Raider Foundation

The Marine Raider Foundation was honored to be chosen as a charity beneficiary of Rudy''s Texas BBQ Annual Camo Cup for a Cause campaign that ran in May in celebration of Military Appreciation Month. The event has raised more than $2 million for military charities over the past 8 years! Over $9,000 was donated to the Foundation to help support our mission, all thanks to Rudy''s customers who purchased a Camo Cup and donated to support military charities!

9th Annual Evening with the Marine Raider Foundation is November 6th!

Limited tickets are still available for the upcoming 9th Annual Evening with the Marine Raider Foundation hosted by Mission2Alpha and Scottsdale Gun Club! Guests who attend in person will hear remarks from Lieutenant Colonel Steve Keisling, as well as bid on both silent and live auction items. Can''t attend? You can bid from the comfort of your couch on silent auction items including custom wooden and metal art, ammo can and custom swag bundles (please note that winning virtual bidders are responsible for shipping cost of items)!

Spring 2020 Wrap Up

Hello, Joseph -

I hope you are staying healthy and safe. Thank you for being a part of the Foundation''s community of people who support Marine Raiders and their families. While COVID19 has definitely altered daily life for everyone, Marine Raiders continue to train and deploy, spending time away from loved ones as they protect our freedom. The Foundation continues to fulfill requests for support, including being there for the families of Gunnery Sergeant Diego Pongo and Major Moises Navas, who were killed during combat operations in Iraq on March 8th, and Sergeant Wolfgang Kyle Weninger, who died while training in Fort Benning, Georgia on June 16th. Your continued support keeps the Foundation ready and able to move quickly when the Marine Raider community needs assistance.

While in-person events continue to be postponed and cancelled, there are opportunities to get involved with the Foundation, including the 100-Mile Summer Sundry Challenge, Seaside Semper Five 5K, and Marine Corps Marathon Virtual Charity Partner Team. Please read on for more details!

2020 Rucking for Raiders Live & Virtual Ruck Raises Over $18,000!

Please join us in congratulating Daniel, Brandon, and the entire Rucking for Raiders crew on pivoting quickly when COVID19 threatened their May event and creating a way for people to ruck virtually to honor MARSOC''s fallen heroes. Teams from Florida and Alabama joined forces with individuals from across the Nation, crushing their goal of $15,000! Great job, Rucking for Raiders! Thank you for supporting the Foundation since our very early beginnings!

2020 Croatan Buck Fifty Cancelled Due to COVID19 But Still Raises $18,000 for the Marine Raider Foundation!

When COVID19 threatened the 2020 Croatan Buck Fifty, a multi-distance mountain bike event that traverses the Croatan National Forest in Eastern North Carolina, race director Matt Hawkins quickly shifted and created a raffle to help raise funds and awareness for the Marine Raider Foundation. Thanks to sponsors including Ridge Supply, Rodeo Labs, Cutaway, Wahoo, & Panaracer, the raffle raised $18,000 to help support the Marine Raider community. Thank you, Matt, for adapting to an unfortunate and unprecedented situation with flying colors! The photo above is from last year''s race, which starts each year at the Carteret County Speedway.

2020 MINT 400 Military Challenge Raises $24,000!

Team Bloody Ridge represented the Marine Raider Foundation at the 2020 MINT 400 in early March out in Las Vegas, #Racing4Raiders while raising over $24,000 in their fundraising campaign. Jody Lynch, Marine Raider Regimental Commander, and former UFC Fighter Josh Koscheck paired up for their second year in the MINT 400, and brought on team members Matt Curran, Clint Alanis, and and Mike Parella. The race covers 321 miles of terrain and is one of the top off-road races in the Nation. Thank you to the team, and a special shout out to Matt Martelli, race director, for creating the Military Challenge!

It''s a "Four-Peat" for Miles for MARSOC Community Athlete Van Petty!

Van Petty first joined the Miles for MARSOC Community Athlete program in 2016 at the age of 9 years old, becoming the Foundation''s youngest Community Athlete. Van returned in 2017, 2018 and again this year to raise funds as he competed in numerous races spanning from 5K to 8K in distance, including the Gasparilla and Disney series of races. Van PR''d in many of those races, created some awesome videos inviting people to support his fundraising efforts, and did it all with that great smile! Thanks so much for all you do for the Raider community, Van! You are an awesome young man with a big heart! Van is pictured with his younger brother Kaleb - moving fast definitely runs in the family!

Matthew Rodriguez Commits to #Run4Raiders in the 2020 Austin Marathon & Raises Over $1700!

Matthew Rodriguez has close ties to the Marine Raider community, understanding firsthand the service and sacrifice that Marine Raiders and their families make every day. Those family ties compelled him to join the Miles for MARSOC Community Athlete program as he conquered the Austin Marathon this past February. Each mile had extra meaning as Matthew trained and competed on race day. Thank you for choosing to #Run4Raiders, Matthew!
