We wrap up our budget year at midnight on Sunday. That’s the day our total community support has to hit a specific goal, allowing Maine Public to meet its obligations to NPR and PBS, and pay for everything from local programs to online technology. 

I’m asking every listener, viewer, and member to make a special gift before then, and generous donors have promised to double every online donation up to $10,000, but matching expires today. You grow with Maine Public, and Maine Public only grows with your support.

It all begins tonight at 7:00 p.m. with Iconic Women of Country. Join Kathy Mattea, Trisha Yearwood, Wynonna Judd and more as they pay tribute to the legends who inspired them. From Dolly to Tammy to Patsy to Loretta, this is an intimate look at iconic female artists and their timeless music.

Tomorrow at 8:00 p.m., the music continues with Red, White, and Rock featuring Frankie Valli, The Righteous Brothers, Connie Francis and more. This concert special taped in 2002 celebrates America and pop oldies music with a dream lineup of artists from the rock, pop and doo-wop days of the late 50s and early to mid-60s.

On Wednesday, don''t miss the stark, moving story of a group of children who survived the Holocaust and were brought to an estate near England''s Lake Windermere to recuperate with the help of volunteer therapists.
