Live from Liverpool Philharmonic Hall
Music is more important than ever in this time of isolation. Since closing our building, we''ve shared past live performances and at home performances by the Orchestra on Facebook to keep us all connected, and so far we''ve had a total of over 380,000 views.
We'll be continuing to share home performances by Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra musicians on our Facebook page, as well as videos from other contemporary artists who regularly perform at the Hall. Musicians from the Orchestra have also teamed up with our partner, University of Liverpool, to perform free lunchtime concerts on Facebook every Wednesday at 1pm.
Tune into our Facebook page tomorrow evening for LightNight 2020. Fitting into this year''s theme of Home, which feels all the more important now, we''ll be posting clips from the popular Irish Sea Sessions, as part of the online festival. View the festival line-up and find out more about #LightNightatHome on the LightNight website.
Every Friday, we're also releasing new recordings of past performances available exclusively on our website, free of charge. The latest addition includes Elgar''s The Dream of Gerontius featuring Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Choir, and tune in tomorrow for a playlist of composers that Chief Conductor Vasily Petrenko has championed during his 14 seasons with the Orchestra.
So whether you''re watching an at home or past live performance, or listening to one of our curated playlists - pour yourself a drink, get comfortable and join us for brilliant music we can all experience together. |

In Harmony Liverpool
Our In Harmony Liverpool partner schools in Anfield and Everton are working hard to provide education and childcare for children of key workers. For the majority of In Harmony children at our three primary schools this means living rooms have become classrooms, so our In Harmony Liverpool team have prepared 12 weeks of activities for children to do at home. These activities, which include musicianship, composition, singing and instrument practice, are now being shared each week through the schools'' online platforms to In Harmony children and families.
