We hope this email finds you well. At Ko Olina Golf Club, we are monitoring the COVID-19 situation and are executing recommendations from the State of Hawaii Department of Health at our clubhouse. The health and safety of our guests and staff are our top priority and we are recommending everyone follow the health and travel advice of relevant authorities.

Here are some of the measures we are taking to ensure the health and safety of our guests, employee’s and community:

Increased Sanitation Measures

Ko Olina Golf Club cleans and sanitizes its facility including golf carts and clubs daily as part of normal business procedures. In response to COVID-19, we have increased the frequency and extent of cleanings. 

Decreased Social Contact

We are kindly asking our employee’s and guests to refrain from personal contact. We encourage everyone to show aloha by using the shaka to greet and say goodbye to one another. We are also limiting social events and encouraging employees to stay at home when sick.

Keeping Your Safety Top-Of-Mind

Ko Olina Golf Club will be posting updates and information on COVID-19 at our clubhouse. Please be aware of scams and mis-information. While COVID-19 public health information is constantly changing in a rapid manner, we are committed to keeping our valued guests informed and safe.

Aloha,

We are very excited to welcome you back tomorrow to Ko Olina Golf Club and to the great game of golf! We would like to thank our Governor and Mayors, health officials and residents for their actions to protect our community and mitigate the spread of COVID-19. A special warm “Mahalo” goes out to the incredible first responders and health care providers for their courage and selfless sacrifice during this pandemic. Our lives have changed in so many ways and we extend our hearts and prayers to all those who have been impacted.  Ko Olina Golf Club is committed to the ongoing safety of our staff, golfers, resort residents and the greater community. We will be adhering to all of the Governor and Mayor’s required Phase One health and safety protocols for golf courses to re-open.

Following are a few of the protective protocols we will be implementing to ensure safety and required social distancing for our team members and guests. The entire Phase One list approved by Governor Ige and Mayor Caldwell can be found here. These guidelines and procedures will be subject to change pending the Governor and Mayor’s weekly modifications.

These new protocols allow golf courses to open safely. Together, let’s continue to always do what is right. Use your common sense and be safe. Our goal at Ko Olina is to always treat people the way that we would want to be treated. We look forward to seeing you, your friends and your family back at Ko Olina Golf Club very soon!

• New Golf Shop days/hours of operation will be in effect. Golf Shop will open at 6am and close at 5pm. 
• All golfers must wear a facemask inside the golf shop.
• We are only accepting credit/debit card transactions.
• Play is limited to groups of four, or less, and social distancing of at least 6 feet must always be maintained during the round.
• The last 18 hole tee time will be sold at 2:36pm. The last 9 hole tee time will be sold at 4pm.
• One golf cart will be issued per person. Two riders per cart is allowed for immediate family (defined as spouses, children or grandparents of children). If the cart is shared with immediate family all golfers must handle their own equipment. Walking is also allowed and encouraged.
• Hole liners on the putting greens have been modified and raised to assist players in removing their ball.
• The flagstick must not be removed from the hole for any reason by a golfer.
• All rakes have been removed on the golf course.
• Special Rules of Golf are in place: If the sand in a bunker is disturbed and affects the lie of a golf ball, golfers may pick up their golf ball and smooth the sand with their foot or hand. The golf ball should be replaced as near as possible to the original lie, in the bunker without penalty
• The practice range, practice putting green, chipping green and practice bunker will be open for warm-up and extended practice sessions. All practice areas are restricted to 10 or less people, with social distancing required.
• Our Snack Bar will be open on weekends 6am - 5pm and on weekdays 7 am – 3 pm.
• Food and beverage services shall be limited to take away only. A friendly reminder that outside food and beverage is not permitted.

With the further progression of COVID-19 and escalated measures by the Hawaii state government, we’ve made the difficult decision to temporarily close Ko Olina Golf Club, effective Tuesday, March 24, 2020, to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. We are joining our resort ohana who are taking similar responsible, precautionary measures.

Golf is and always has been a fun and healthy outdoor sport that can be enjoyed by friends, family and folks of every age and ability. However, we feel we must continue to take every measure to protect the health and safety of our employees and guests.

Golfers are by nature a special and hardy group of people, used to dealing with adversity and ultimately finding a way to persevere through any challenges facing them. We encourage everyone to keep their heads steady and high and live aloha. We will get through these difficult times together by caring for and helping each other. In life as in golf, you can’t always control which way the ball bounces, but you can control how you react.  

Our Golf Club has set a tentative re-opening date set for May 1^st, 2020. Our staff has already begun making calls to any individuals who have tee times booked with us between March 24 and April 30. Our phones will be shut down during our temporary closing, though you may continue to contact us via email at golf@koolina.com. For 30 years, Ko Olina Golf Club has been dedicated to providing an exceptional golf experience with aloha and outstanding customer service. Temporary Schedule 

Please note: The following temporary schedule will be in effect for Ko Olina Golf Club. 

• We will be closed on Mondays, effective Monday, May 11th.
• The one exception is Memorial Day, Monday, May 25. We will be open Memorial Day.
• We will then be closed the following day, on Tuesday, May 26.

With the Governor’s two week shutdown announcement on Tuesday, Ko Olina Golf Club will be closed effective today, August 27, 2020.

While we know golf is an entertaining and healthy outdoor game that can be enjoyed by all, we understand we must continue to take every measure possible to protect the health and safety of our employees and guests.

Our tentative re-opening date is September 10, 2020. Our staff has already begun cancelling tee times for the next two weeks. Our phones will be shut down during our temporary closing, though you may continue to contact us via email at golf@koolina.com. You can also continue to view updates on our website and social platforms. Additionally, you may continue to book tee times online for future dates while we are closed.

We encourage everyone to continue to wear masks, social distance, avoid large gatherings, and wash your hands. We must continue to work together to come out of this pandemic successfully. Thank you for your continued support and we look forward to seeing you again soon. Remember to keep stretching and keep your legs in shape so you’re ready to hit it long and far after the lay-off!
