Building the Future: Tech''s Policy Platform for U.S. Candidates
|
ITI released its Tech Policy Platform for U.S. Candidates, a cross-sector tech policy roadmap outlining policy recommendations that will enable a continued economic recovery and future prosperity in the United States, global leadership, and the fostering of greater opportunities across all communities.
The policy recommendations in ITI''s platform include:

Enabling a Diverse Future Workforce by providing STEM education, closing skills and opportunity gaps, and supporting high-skilled immigration.

Enabling Prosperity to support American businesses by encouraging open markets, reducing barriers to trade, and promoting a competitive tax system.

Enabling U.S. Innovation and Leadership by investing in innovative technologies, streamlining policies to accelerate public sector use of technology, advancing a legal and regulatory environment that fosters competition and growth, and promoting leadership in sustainability.

Enabling Trust and Resiliency by investing in cutting-edge digital infrastructure, embracing new technology to defend against cyber-threats, ensuring data privacy, and protecting the security of global supply chains.
In an open letter to 2020 U.S. candidates, ITI’s President and CEO Jason Oxman stressed the tech industry’s commitment to working constructively with the next Administration and the next Congress to ensure that the United States adopts policies that support the well-being of Americans as the workforce and education landscapes continue to evolve.

ITI & Protocol Join to Host National Political Conventions Event Series
|
|
ITI and Protocol have teamed up to host a two-part series on the tech and policy needed to enable a diverse future workforce and a strong economy featuring ITI member companies Adobe, Cognizant, Corning, Dropbox, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, IBM, and SAP. Major Supply Chain Law Sec. 889 Implemented in U.S.
|
|
ITI issued a reaction from Gordon Bitko, SVP of Public Sector Policy, in response to the implementation of Sec. 889, a ban on U.S. government contractor use of telecommunications equipment from Huawei and ZTE and certain video surveillance equipment from three other named entities.
Bitko appeared on WJLA''s Government Matters to speak more about the impact of Sec. 889 for tech industry government contractors.
