Thanks so much for taking the time to read my emails. I know it has taken several emails to get to this point, but Nexx Smart Alarm is a labor of love that I built for myself and now offer to you. So I am kinda nervous that someone is going to call my baby ugly.

I set a schedule to arm my alarm at 10 PM and disarm at 6 AM. Now like clockwork, without having to do anything, my alarm automatically arms and disarms. Nexx Smart Alarm notification feature is a blessing. I just get comfort knowing who arms or disarms my alarm and when. It is also great knowing when someone opens or closes the front and back door. I may not be at home, but I still feel like I am in total control.

As we prepare for our new product launch, I want to give a big shout out to you for helping Nexx get where we are today.

Nexx was founded in 2016 by my brother Scott and I with the idea of developing cost-effective tech solutions that will simplify life. Our first product Nexx Garage met this need, and it has become a great success thanks to all our wonderful Nexx fans. So THANK YOU, Nexx fan!

Since the release of Nexx Garage, we have been working on a problem that has been nagging at me. A few years ago while driving to work I was wondering if I had armed my alarm. I started to sweat and panic.

After already having driven for 15 minutes, I turned around and headed back home to make sure that my alarm was armed. When I arrived home, I found out that I did arm it and now wasted 45 minutes and was going to be late for work. 

Frustrated, that night I researched for a solution. I stumbled upon articles that made me worried about the fine print in my insurance policy, so I took out my policy and read it from cover to cover and found it had this "take reasonable steps" clause, and I thought hmm. that can be open to wide interpretation. I have an "Alarm" type home insurance policy, and if I were to forget to arm my alarm and it was burglarized, can my claim be denied or reduced based on this "take reasonable steps" clause?

Now I am more worried than ever.

I need something that will remind me to arm my alarm. I stumbled across an article that gave the following 4 tips to help you remember:

     1. Set a Daily Reminder On Your Phone

     2. Put a Sticky Note on the Main Door or Keypad

     3. Put Something Important Near the Alarm

     4. Put the Remote on Your Keychain

After using these methods for a couple of weeks, I got frustrated. I thought to myself "I am an engineer with decades of experience, so I definitely should be able to find a better way". I also began wanting more than just reminders, things like:

• Arming/Disarming when away from home
• Getting alarm notifications from my phone
• Giving access to others without having to give out my alarm code
• Automatically arming at night and disarming in the morning
• Automatically arming upon leaving my home

I brought this idea to my brother Scott, and we brainstormed to see if we can develop a product that can do all this.

Two years later, we finally believed that we solved this nagging problem of mine.  Let me get back on preparing for our launch, but don't worry, in a few days I will send you an email on how Nexx Smart Alarm has made mine and my brother's life so much better.
