No Images? Click here ![]() It is with infinite excitement and gratitude that we share with you that Four Pillars Gin, our little gin brand from the Yarra Valley, was last night (UK time) awarded 2019 International Gin Producer of the Year at the 50th Annual International Wine & Spirits Competition! In London! Some say this is the Oscars of the international drinks industry, and our very own Cam Mackenzie was there at the black-tie gala Awards Banquet (wearing a kilt)... He received the award in front of 600 leaders of the global drinks community at The Guildhall in the City of London. Cam was a little bit blown away to have won this award on the eve of our sixth birthday (we all are, really). It is truly bloody incredible. As he he messaged the rest of us back here in Australia earlier today: "To say that I am in a state of disbelief would be vastly understating the true state of my disbelief...". That's probably because Four Pillars Gin is the first Australian distillery to win the award, and the IWSC is the world’s largest and most prestigious international competition for spirits, with more than 3000 entries worldwide. ![]() When we started making test batches of gin back in 2012 we never in our maddest, wildest dreams thought this kind of international accolade could come so quickly. And the fact that this award is not for a single one of our gins but for the whole of our gin business and for what we’ve done to bring modern Australian craft, creativity, and great fun to the global gin category, makes it so incredibly special. But it gets better... The previous two winners of this award are Hernö from Sweden in 2017 and Kyoto Distillery in Japan last year, so we couldn’t be in better company. They are two of the greatest distilleries and two of our best mates in the world of gin. The award for International Gin Producer of the Year caps off a pretty epic 2019 for Four Pillars Gin, with top medals for our gins across the range, and becoming the first ever local distillery to be awarded Liquor Brand of the Year at the Australian Liquor Industry Awards. But these awards are more than just shiny trophies. They are really a tribute to every single person who has helped us make, sell, mix, or drink one of our gins over the past six years. So while Cam is still celebrating in London, to say thanks for your support we'd love to celebrate with YOU, now and all weekend! Come down our little gin shed in Healesville for free tastings (usually $10). Get ahead on your Christmas shopping and buy online, with free shipping on us using the code 'DRINK BETTER GIN'. Or head to our MYER pop-up gin stores in Melbourne City, Chadstone and Sydney City for a free Rare Dry Gin Chocolate with every bottle of gin you purchase (while stocks last). Thanks, cheers and have a bloody brilliant weekend all,

No images? Click here ![]() SUMMER, GIN, FILM & FUN At Four Pillars we love drinking gin all year round, but we love a cold gin drink in summer most of all (which, let's face it, includes March too). Our Australian summer truly is hot and long - too hot, and too long. That's why we're proud to have been part of the amazing community of businesses raising money for bushfire and drought relief (see below for more). But summer does provide plenty of opportunities to enjoy a quiet little bevvie. So we've matched each of our gins to a thirst-quenching cocktail tailored to the Australian summer. Here are our absolute go-to gin drinks to enjoy over the next couple of months: - A perfect Rare Dry G&T in the baking heat of the beach. ![]()
FOUR PILLARS GIN EVENTS NEAR YOU
This summer we’re bringing bars to even more of our favourite cultural festivals. Sydney Festival and FLiCKERFEST may have been and gone, but Melbourne’s annual architectural installation MPavilion is still kicking on, so you can sip a Rare Dry G&T in the Queen Victoria Gardens of an evening. And this week we launch a month-long gin and film festival across three cities. There's also excellent Four Pillars drinking to be had at an outdoor bar near you. Melburnians, sip on a Rare Dry G&T on the rooftop of QT Melbourne and we'll have all our fave summer serves at the Sebastian Beach Grill throughout February. Plus, don't forget to join us at the end of the month for lots of summer gin fun during Melbourne Cocktail Week. ![]() We're excited to kick off another round of summer film and gin festivals this February... We're back in Sydney and Melbourne, and we've made our way to Auckland for the first time. Hooray! SYDNEY GIN LOVERS. Indulge in mid-week cinematic brilliance and underground gin drinks at Golden Age Cinema & Bar on Wednesday nights from 5 February. Films, screening times and tickets here MELBURNIANS. Head north-side to Thornbury Picture House to enjoy seriously good flicks and Four Pillars drinkies on the forecourt on Thursday nights from 6 February. Films, screening times and tickets here NEW ZEALAND FRIENDS. Academy Cinemas in Auckland are bringing you a Wet Hot Academy Summer with Four Pillars gin drinks to match on Friday nights until 6 March. Films, screening time and tickets here ![]() And finally, but most importantly, after a pretty epic 2019 for Four Pillars (ending with us being awarded International Gin Producer of the Year) this summer went a little sideways for the country as a whole. We don’t need to recap the disastrous past couple of months in our home state, and our home country. It’s a tragedy on so many levels, and we're not out the other side yet. So in January the Yarra Valley came together because we know how much pain these fires cause and how much it takes to rebuild. Four Pillars Gin donated all profits made on Saturday 11th to the CFA and Wildlife Victoria, and we raised nearly $57,000 between Four Pillars Gin, Payten and Jones, Yarra Valley Caviar and By Barney. What a start to 2020! And back in the first week of December 2019 our Four Pillars of the Community Weekend was focused on drought and bushfire relief too. The total of this annual birthday fundraiser came to $25,000, and we thank everyone who came out to the distillery over the summer to support those communities who've been hit hard this season. We hope we never need to do this again. Long may it rain, and thanks to all the heroes from near and far. With much love, the Four Pillars squad x

Plus new bookings at Eileen''s Bar in Sydney!
No images? Click here ![]() HELLO GIN FRIENDSAnd now we have two new Made From Gin products available on our website, made in collaboration with two of Australia’s best and most delicious specialist makers. And both use ALL the delicious botanicals from our distillations (not just the oranges). Introducing Rare Dry Gin Chocolate, made with Hunted + Gathered, and Rare Dry Gin Salt, made with Olsson’s Salt, for your at-home cooking and eating pleasure… As you know, at Four Pillars we’re committed to giving a delicious second life to all our flavour-packed spent gin botanicals. It all began with Rare Dry Gin. Every batch we made would leave us with kilograms of gin-steamed oranges exploding with goodness. So we made a now legendary marmalade (perfect on toasted sourdough or in a Breakfast Martini). Both Rare Dry Gin Salt and Chocolate are already available at our Healesville Distillery and Sydney Laboratory, with the Gin Salt a brand-new addition to the family. And while we’ve had chocolate on the shelves for a year or so now, we’ve not felt comfortable about shipping it before because, well, the melting issue… so we thought the Victorian winter might be the best time to try! Find out more below, and head to our website to stock up on some ginny goodness in food form… Or, if you want to grab either of these delights from our Gin Shop at the Sydney Laboratory before heading for a drink at Eileen’s Bar we have good news – we have now opened up for bookings from 5 August onwards. ![]() RARE DRY GIN SALT BY OLSSON’S We have taken our spent Rare Dry Gin botanicals, dehydrated and then sent them to our friends at Olsson''s for them to blend with their delicious Marine Mineral Grey Salt. This type of salt is also known as ‘sel gris’ and comes from the ocean, making it taste just like the sea. The genius salt people at Olsson’s mix their salt with our own nine dry botanicals to make for a stunning end product… perfect for roasted meats and vegetables. Try it with roast chicken or pork loin, BBQ ribs, roasted spuds or sprinkled on stir-fried greens. You can also use it for curing fish like salmon or kingfish. And it makes an amazing salted caramel to pour over vanilla ice cream!

![]() RARE DRY GIN CHOCOLATE BY Made by the chocolate masters at Melbourne’s Hunted + Gathered, our Rare Dry Gin Chocolate is the most indulgent piece of our nose-to-tail distilling story. This 70% dark chocolate contains spent gin botanicals and gin-steamed oranges from our Rare Dry Gin distillations, dried and ground to mix into premium dark chocolate using only cacao butter, coconut sugar and carefully sourced cacao beans. Enjoy the bitter-sweet chocolate flavours, followed by notes of juniper, subtle but lingering cardamom and cassia, and of course that beautiful warm orange citrus character. It truly tastes like chocolate and gin (but don’t worry, there’s no booze at all in it).

Our new savoury gin is here...
No images? Click here ![]() OLIVE LEAF GIN Great news! Our Olive Leaf Gin is now available to pre-order. Our new savoury gin was five delicious years in the making, it’s textural, bright and perfect for a Martini or Spanish-inspired Gintonic. We’ve used three types of cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil and olive leaf from the world-class groves of Victoria''s Cobram Estate. Botanicals like rosemary and bay leaf transport you to the Mediterranean (even though they''re from Cam’s garden), while native macadamia nuts and lemon myrtle make the gin distinctly modern Australian. While we can’t wait for you to try it, please be aware that despatch may take up to 5 business days and that due to the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions Australia Post are experiencing delivery delays so we can’t guarantee delivery by a particular date.
Pre-order your Olive Leaf Gin
![]() The genesis of Olive Leaf Gin was five years ago when we distilled a little drop called Cousin Vera’s Gin with our friends at Santamanía Destileria Urbana in Madrid in 2015. This was our first foray into savoury, Mediterranean-inspired gin flavours, and while this first Distiller Series gin came and went pretty quickly it remains a cult classic for those who crave that savoury style. So we knew gin and olives would combine beautifully, then after visiting Cobram Estate''s world-class Victorian groves during olive harvest we realised olive oil could be a brilliant botanical alongside olive leaf. The aroma, flavour and texture of fresh olive is stunning so Cam was excited, and he did an entire year of trials before finalising the recipe. Olive Leaf Gin has been a long time coming, so we can''t wait to share it with you - pre-order now to receive yours
just as soon as we can humanly get it to you!

A quick heads-up on shipments
No images? Click here ![]() HELLO FRIENDS We hope you’re all doing well and keeping safe, healthy and sane wherever you are in this crazy world of ours. We don’t normally send chatty emails, but as the world is moving so fast we thought we should keep you in the loop with what’s happening at the distillery. And, above all, we wanted to say thank you. Three weeks ago, we were simply a gin business that used the highly alcoholic heads and tails of our distillations as a cleaning product in our distillery. Today we are in the middle of making over 20,000 litres of hand sanitiser to ship around Australia. It’s been an epic journey, at high speed, and it’s helping keep our team in jobs while hopefully soon keeping healthcare workers and everyday Australians safe. WE''VE NOW SOLD OUT OF SANITISER, AND WE''RE MAKING AND SHIPPING IT AS FAST AS WE CAN. But as we noted while the sanitiser was on sale (and pre-sale) - much of it won’t ship until mid-to-late April. So please bear with us! Now here’s the longer story… ![]() First things first, yes we are still a gin distillery. And, no, we’re not going to run out of gin any time soon. So there’s no panic buying required! That said, we are having great fun seeing all your #quarantinis, #iso G&Ts and new #ChangingSeasonsGin creations on the socials, so please keep sharing your drinks and good times. Second things second, while still making gin we are obviously now making a lot of hand sanitiser too. Which is a good thing because you guys need a lot! Here’s where we are at…
![]() For those of you waiting on your allocation of HEADS, TAILS & CLEAN HANDS, we thought you might enjoy this article in the Australian Financial Review by the wine writer Max Allen. This week Max reviewed gin-fuelled hand sanitisers, and pleasingly here’s what he said about ours (you can read the whole piece in the AFR this Friday): “On opening, this reveals lovely top notes of juniper, sweet citrus, and light fragrant spices. Quite hard to resist the temptation to sip. Once applied to the hands, it has a pleasant, silky texture over the skin” So, while we don’t plan to make this product a day longer than Australians needs us to make it, you’ll be thrilled to know it’s good stuff! Now we know we won’t get everything right as we do this. We’ll miss some deadlines, muddle up some parcels, and doubtless frustrate a few customers with slow delivery. But we promise you we’re doing our very, very best. And when this is all over we’ll enjoy getting back to our day jobs and sharing a G&T with you all. With much love and gratitude from all of us And from Behn, Jez and Benny (who are usually busy helping Cam make gin, but have taken a collective crash course in making sanitiser to WHO standards)... And from Scott, Kirsty, Elton, Brett, Heather, Lizzie, Oliver, Oshane, Olivia, Bina, Dave, Josh, Wes, Nick, Katie, James, Fiona, Ella, Brittany, Bodie, Calvin and Tayla (who are usually serving gin in our hospitality space but currently bottling and packing gin)... And from Nicole P, Ken, Mel, Amy, Maddy, Michael and Deb (who are usually bottling gin on the bottling line, but are now handling 80% alcohol sanitiser)... And from Ayla, Jemma S, Rebecca, Nicole C, Lily, Elle, Ebony, Janet, Kylie, Chrissy, Kelly, Michelle and Michaela (who come from different parts of our business but are currently all on the front line of handling your orders and dealing with any questions you may have)... And from Nick and Becca (who do all our design work, and have suddenly had to get to grips with the mandatory requirements of sanitiser packaging)... And from Carron, Jonny, Luke, Jemma B, Jen, Bry, Tom, Mark, Caroline, Sam, Missy, Jimmy, Hannah, Matt W, Leah, Alex and Joe (who are working like crazy to keep our main gin business on the tracks while so many of us have been diverted to the sanitiser cause)...

FREE SHIPPING for 2 or more bottles of our Kyoto Distillery collab
No images? Click here ![]() Folks, we said last week that in these strange and uncertain times we''d have something exciting to share soon (other than our efforts to make hand sanitiser at scale for both frontline healthcare workers and the wider world… more on that next week). Well, here it is - Changing Seasons Gin (with FREE SHIPPING, see details below)! For our third Distiller Series gin we couldn’t go past our fellow IWSC Gin Producers of the Year at Kyoto Distillery. We wanted to take the unique seasonal botanicals from Australia and Japan, and make a gin that would drink brilliantly in both places, in all weathers and seasons. So we created this beautiful, limited edition Changing Seasons Gin. We distilled the gin with Alex Davies, Kyoto’s head distiller, in our Yarra Valley spring. Cam and Alex experimented with botanicals from both countries, landing on a combination that exudes distinctive characteristics from both. You can read more about the distilling process on our website. Of course we want to offer our Wilma''s List members the chance to order before anyone else... But note we''ve capped orders at four bottles per person to share the love for this limited release around. If you are able to support us with an order over $150 you''ll be helping us keep our amazing Healesville team together at this uniquely challenging time for the food and drink industry. In return we''ll say thank you with free shipping - just enter the promo code LOCAL LOVE on the VIEW CART page before CHECKOUT, valid until midnight Sunday (for orders over $150). ![]() Over the hot Australian summer we tested Changing Seasons Gin in refreshing cocktails like this Japanese highball with yuzu soda, while Alex was keeping warm in wintery Kyoto. And now we are finally releasing it in the Australian autumn, while the cherry blossoms bloom in Japan. This is truly a gin for all seasons, so try it in a G&T with honeydew melon, whichever you find yourself in, or one of our seasonal gin drinks. Kanpai!

Plus more masterclasses at our Sydney Laboratory!
No images? Click here ![]() HI FRIENDS.We really wish we didn’t have to send this email, but back to lockdown here we go. And while that’s sad and worrying news for all of us in Victoria, we also know it’s the right thing to do, as the quicker we get on top of this COVID thing again, the quicker we can get back to some kind of normal. So, why are we emailing? Three reasons… First, to all of you in Victoria now living with a second round of lockdown, we want to make the next few weeks as delicious as possible. So every gin order we ship to a VIC postcode will get a FREE JAR of Breakfast Negroni marmalade thrown in (order before Monday 13 July). Second, buying gin direct from us is the best way to help keep our distillery team busy and gainfully employed (cos they''re not able to hold tastings or make you delicious drinks) - at a time like this it is super appreciated. So buy that Limited Edition bottle of Bloody Shiraz Gin you’ve been planning to. Top up your classic Rare Dry Gin supplies for those much-needed 5pm lockdown G&Ts. Or grab a bottle of our legendary Spiced Negroni Gin to enjoy a Negroni after dinner as well as gin-steamed Breakfast Negroni marmalade on your sourdough for breakfast. Yep, this deliciousness is made from the gin-steamed oranges we use in every Rare Dry Gin distillation. Whatever gin you buy, if it’s being delivered to a VIC address we’ll throw in a Breakfast Negroni marmalade for free. Third, we have some news for you Sydney gin-lovers too. We have more masterclasses at our Surry Hills Laboratory scheduled into the spring (including the cocktail class you’ve been asking for) and we’re now taking walk-ins in Eileen’s Bar on Sundays. Thanks for your support friends and stay safe Victorians - well, everyone... PS… From today, our Distillery Door is back in lockdown mode, meaning we are operating as a pop-up gin shop only. And all holders of masterclass tickets have been directly contacted to talk about refund or rescheduling options.

And more awards from the IWSC!
No images? Click here ![]() AND OUR NEW RELEASE IS... OLIVE LEAF GIN Five years in the making, and joining the Four Pillars Gin family at the end of the month! We are so proud and excited to finally get this gin out to you and to the world. Look out for your pre-order email next week... After a journey that’s taken us from Healesville to Madrid and back to the groves of Victoria, Olive Leaf Gin has been five years of thinking, talking, and tasting. Our new savoury gin is made by distilling with three different types of world-class cold-pressed olive oil plus olive leaf from Victoria’s Cobram Estate. A sensationally moreish and uniquely Australian gin, for some completely delicious gin drinks. Inspired by those amazing Spanish Gintonics. Perfect for a Martini, however you have yours. Stay tuned people, make sure to keep your eyes peeled and your Junk Mail settings low! In the meantime, here’s Cam telling the complete story of what makes this gin so special… ![]()

BLOODY SHIRAZ & RARE DRY GIN WIN GOLD! The results are in for this year’s International Wine & Spirit Competition, and we''ve won gold for our two leading gins, Rare Dry Gin and Bloody Shiraz Gin. Once again, the Four Pillars family (and Australian producers in general) have proudly flown the flag for Australian gin, backing up our 2019 IWSC International Gin Producer of the Year trophy. As well as the two golds another five of our gins collected high silvers, including our sensational Spiced Negroni and Navy Strength pair, our soon-to-be-launched Olive Leaf Gin, our delicious Sherry Cask Gin and a single cask barrel aged gin that hasn’t even been released yet. We are pumped. We don’t normally enter Bloody Shiraz into awards as it’s difficult to find a category that fits, so it’s terrific that it has won its first ever gold medal at the world’s most prestigious show! Not a bad place to start. Also it’s great to see that our Rare Dry Gin, our original and most important gin, continues to win gold medals – it has won at least one gold at a serious international spirits award every year since 2014, so that’s nice to keep the momentum going. As we have said a few times before, Aussie spirits, especially gins, are pound-for-pound right now the best in the world and the 2020 IWSC further reinforces this. Thanks to the IWSC, and to all our friends around the world for their support. Cheers!

We hope you and yours have stayed safe and well as Australia has navigated these strange times. And us? Well, we’ve been quietly busy on a few projects… So, after some radio silence, it’s all news at Four Pillars Gin right now. No.1_ If you haven’t happened upon it yet - we have a new website, and we’re a bit excited to finally share it with you! We hope it will be a better place than ever for you to shop for all your favourite gins, learn more about our distilling and botanicals, and get inspired to make even better drinks at home. So head over to the new website and take a look around. We hope you like it. ![]() No.2_On top of launching a new digital home we are about to open our second physical home! That’s right – on World Gin Day five years ago we were still based at our mate Rob Dolan’s winery in Warrandyte. It was later in 2015 that we opened our first proper home, Four Pillars Distillery. To be honest, we don’t yet know when our Healesville Distillery Door will be able to fully open again (although we’re open daily for takeaway bottle sales). BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT WE WILL BE OPENING OUR NEWEST HOME - THE FOUR PILLARS LABORATORY IN SURRY HILLS, SYDNEY - JUST IN TIME FOR WORLD GIN DAY ON 13 JUNE! Step in off Crown St to find a Gin Shop filled with everything Four Pillars, usually only available in Healesville. Up the stairs lies our Gin Lab, home to our micro-still Eileen (she survived the drive up with Cam and Behn last week). This is where we’ll run masterclasses (with limited capacity in accordance with NSW Covid-19 protocols), and make some limited-edition Sydney-release gins (available only from the Lab)! And finally, there''s Eileen’s Bar. Behind a discreet door on the corner and up a juniper blue staircase is the bar of our wildest gin dreams. Our Creative Drinks Director James Irvine has designed a drinks menu of gin classics and modern masterpieces using the full Four Pillars family of gins. Plus of course there will be Matt Wilkinson’s Made From Gin snacks... did someone say salt and gin vinegar crisps? So all you Sydney-based gin lovers should mark the 12 to 14 June in your diary, and look out for an email invitation to the opening shenanigans on Monday next week. Giddy up! Best wishes, as always, PS Those of you who have been getting emails from us for years now might be wondering what happened to our Bloody Shiraz Gin release this year, which usually happens like clockwork on 1 June. Don’t panic… we’re still releasing a new vintage of the best bloody gin in the world soon, just delayed by a couple of weeks because of, you know, everything… so keep a close eye on your inbox around the middle of June, and get all your login details sorted on the new website in the meantime!

Heads, Tails & Clean Hands 700mL No images? Click here ![]() UPDATE FROM THE DISTILLERY After selling out the first batch of this liquid sanitiser in a matter of hours, we''ve managed to fulfil those thousands of pre-orders. And now we have a second batch of Heads, Tails & Clean Hands (with 80% ethyl alcohol to meet the specifications of the WHO) ready to ship. So if you missed the first release, now is the time to grab a bottle! As with the first batch, this sanitiser comes as a liquid (not a gel). This this time we have bottled in 700mL glass, ready to decant into your own smaller spray bottles and dispensers for use in the home. It works for hands and surfaces alike, and smells great in the process due to the use of the by-products of our distillation process. We''ve capped orders at 4 bottles per person for this release. Please also note that we will NOT be selling this sanitiser at our distillery door. Despatch and then delivery via Australia Post is running slower than normal, so check out our Shipping information and thank you in advance for your patience, from the bottom of our gin-soaked hearts. ![]() While this sanitiser is 100% effective, it''s also very Four Pillars! We’re using the highly concentrated heads and tails from each gin distillation, plus a touch of aloe vera. That means that the end product has some of the aromatic properties of our gin (but remember it is definitely NOT for drinking). We hope this product will help keep people safe, and also help keep our business healthy enough to continue to make great gin.
BUY SOME SANITISER HERE
![]() CHANGING SEASONS GIN And remember that as the seasons change towards cooler autumn weather (and winter) we do have something new for you to drink too. Many of you will have already grabbed a bottle, but just in case you haven''t... Changing Seasons Gin is our third Distiller Series gin, made with our fellow IWSC Gin Producers of the Year at Kyoto Distillery. We wanted to take the unique seasonal botanicals from Australia and Japan, and make a gin that would drink brilliantly in both places, in all weathers and seasons. Changing Seasons Gin has big bright aromas of pine needle, green citrus from yuzu and desert lime, and light green tea. The quandong and kinmokusei flowers add a fruit flavour and the texture is driven by hinoki, red pine and dense juniper. This is a gin for all seasons, so try it in a G&T with honeydew any time of the year or any number of seasonal gin drinks.
BUY CHANGING SEASONS GIN HERE
So that’s the update from us... We''re continuing to make delicious gin (including getting this year''s Bloody Shiraz Gin into production) but also making a small amount of sanitiser while we still have requests from people across the country. But we''re very hopeful that soon our distillery will be back to producing gin day in and day out, and that we''ll be able to welcome you back to peek through the windows to watch those distillations in the near future too. Stay safe everyone,

Plus come make gin at our Sydney Laboratory!
No images? Click here ![]() GET IN QUICK FRIENDS!We have a super-duper limited run of Hernö Distillery''s Botany Bay Gin for you, as well as some Dry Island Gin we kept hidden just for this release... Get excited for the complete Hernö x Four Pillars Gin Distiller Series. Botany Bay Gin made in Sweden, Dry Island Gin made in Healesville. Buy both gins together as a pair, or Botany Bay Gin on its own. This release is so small that we''re limiting orders to a maximum of 2 per customer, and of course our email list is getting early access... And we suspect these gins won''t stick around long at all! Back in October 2017 Hernö''s founder and distiller, Jon Hilgren, visited Cam Mackenzie at our distillery in Healesville. When they sat down to chat (and drink and chat, and drink a little more), it became clear that we had striking similarities in philosophy, in commitment and in ambition. And that it was time to make a gin together (or two as it turns out) - and that it should be in a classic London Dry style. ![]()

Dry Island Gin was created first, at Four Pillars Distillery, with river mint, roasted wattle seed, strawberry gum, lemon myrtle, meadowsweet and fresh lemons. is bright and lifted with citrus notes and a lovely floral cut-grass character. Cam and Jon also used plenty of lemons in the Botany Bay Gin made at Hernö’s distillery in northern Sweden in July 2018. But the Swedish botanicals like meadowsweet really shine in the Botany Bay Gin, which has candied citrus and soft pink pepper notes. We have loved collaborating with Hernö Distillery. Our gins both have amazing purity of spirit in vibrant, lifted styles while maintaining a very clean, soft spirit. This Botany Bay Gin was made at Hernö’s distillery, a delicious botanical tribute to Swedish botanist Dr. Solander and the place where he first set foot in Australia. The resulting gin is delicious, combining Swedish meadowsweet and lingon berries with Aussie lemon myrtle and pepperberries. Juniper comes through an array of candied citrus and eucalyptus with soft pink pepper. Try it in a G&T garnished with honeydew melon. ![]()

Evolving our events & hospitality in the face of COVID-19 No images? Click here ![]() BUSINESS [NOT] AS USUAL
In strange and uncertain times like these communication is key, so strap in for a long(ish) email. And, yes, we know what you’re thinking… at last, here’s a brand telling us how they are responding to COVID-19. Seriously though, we do have some stuff to share (and it''s all on our website too, please have a look before you visit), so here goes… As we navigate the coming weeks and months we will be guided by four key principles… flattening the curve; remembering that we’re all in this together; putting people above all; and keeping top of mind that experiences matter. ![]() OUR FOUR PRINCIPLES Flattening the curve is key. We may not be able to stop this virus spreading entirely, but we can slow the spread to ensure that our health systems don’t get overwhelmed and instead remain able to support the most vulnerable in our society. We will only do so if we work together. Small groups. Great hand hygiene. Social distancing. Staying home if you’re feeling in the least bit unwell. Remembering, that we’re all in this together. As we respond to the business impacts of this health and economic crisis we will put people above all. And we need to be prepared for this new operating environment to last at least six months, so we have to make some tough decisions. Like many businesses in our industry, the Four Pillars team is a blend of permanent and casual staff. We are determined to do our best to look after everyone and spread the pain across all our teams, regardless of their employment terms with us. We stand together today knowing that we will be stronger as a business and as a collective when we get through this. And that leads to our last principle… experiences matter. Because we have to make sure that the world we navigate towards is one still worth living in. One where people can share a G&T, and a story and a laugh. One where people can go to a bar or an art gallery or a movie. One where our experiences are not limited to what we can order up through Netflix, Amazon and Deliveroo. So even in these times of flattening the curve and all working together and placing the health of vulnerable people above all, let’s not forget what we are fighting for… a world we all want to live in and share together. Experiences matter. Sociability and hospitality matter. People and connections matter. Which is why we are determined to keep our distillery door open, but in new ways. We are determined to keep providing masterclasses, but in new ways. And we are determined to keep supporting the bars and institutions we love, and we encourage them to think about how they can survive today and thrive again tomorrow, by serving up hospitality and experiences in new ways. ![]() MAKING CHANGES We want to keep sharing our home in Healesville, because welcoming people to Four Pillars Gin is part of who we are. That means that, with immediate effect, we are making substantial changes to how we operate our distillery door hospitality experience. CHANGES TO OUR VENUE

CHANGES TO OUR MASTERCLASSES
![]() CHANGES OUT IN THE WORLD After our gin, our craft and our people there’s nothing we believe in more than sharing gin experiences with the world. So work continues on our Four Pillars Laboratory in Sydney’s Surry Hills, with our plan to be open (in a measured and responsible way) in June of this year. And just yesterday work began on our new site next door to our current Distillery building in Healesville, where will open an expanded home for both our hospitality and production. Current events may push back the timing a touch, but the scale of our ambition for our gin, our people and our home town remains undiminished! Finally, anyone who knows Four Pillars knows we love events... we love the chance to share our gin and our stories with friends and to support Australia’s creative and hospitality communities in the process. But for now, as we all wrestle with this new world, we will be cancelling all the larger events and masterclasses we host at our distillery as well as some events out in the wider world, and we will only proceed with small-group events that are carefully planned. Anyone holding tickets for existing events will be offered the full range of options. ![]() KEEP ON DRINKING BETTER GIN Our support for the hospitality industry in these difficult times is rock-solid, as is our determination that people should still have the chance to drink better gin at the end of some of the hard days and weeks ahead. So we will be looking at ways we can support bars, restaurants and retailers as best we can. We’re all in this together. So, as always, thank you in advance for your support as we enter this period of uncertainty. We’re committed to continuing to serve up great gin to you (including a cracking new release coming very soon) no matter what the world may throw at us all. We’re confident that we’ll all be back sharing a G&T and a story before we know it. Stay well friends,
Four Pillars Distillery
