You''re probably tired of me saying this, but it''s worth repeating.
The world is changing faster than we ever thought possible!
That includes the art world too.
If you had told me back in January that galleries would be forced to close their doors indefinitely, or that our members would be on track to double their online sales through FASO this year, I would have thought you were crazy. But here we are.
Just like any big change in the world, this change has had it''s fair share of winners and losers. What I''ve noticed is that the artists who are really doing well seem to have two things in common.
The first is a recognition and willingness to change their approach to marketing and selling their art in order to quickly adapt to the times.
Artists like FASO member Mark Coombe, for example, are connecting in new and engaging ways with their collectors through videos, Facebook Live events, and Zoom exhibitions. Something they would have never considered doing before the world went topsy-turvy.

I don''t know about you, but I think 2020 will go down as the craziest year ever for art sales. COVID-19, a stalled global economy, political protests, social unrest, and the most contentious US presidential election in ages has made selling art harder than it ever was before.
My dad, who passed away some time ago, was not only my hero but the most insightful man that I ever knew. He shared something with me that I never forgot and has so much relevance to what''s going on today.
