Hello Friends and Supporters of the Crisis Center,
The current and long-term consequences due to the Covid19 pandemic will be experienced by all of us and will especially impact those who are and have been considered the most vulnerable in our community.
The Contra Costa Crisis Center, with the support of many of you, is proud to have played a key role in identifying and securing services for our community by building new partnerships and collaborations with the county and other private and not for profit organizations.
With your help, we counseled thousands of our neighbors through difficult times, assisted in the creation of an internet mapping tool to help people navigate the everchanging food resource landscape (including being an intake for the Great Plates Program), procured and distributed donated personal protective equipment (PPE) to multiple organizations, worked closely with Public Health and the Office of Emergency Services to manage calls about the virus, and many other projects, large and small.
The pandemic response has been referred to by many as a marathon and not a sprint, and our agency will continue our mission to help those in need 24/7/365.
If you have any questions about the work we are doing, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or anyone on our team. Also, if you are interested in volunteering your energy and time with us, please visit us at our website - Contra Costa Crisis Center Volunteer Page (crisis-center.org).
Until next time, here’s wishing you and yours a safe and joyous end to 2020.
With help comes hope. Thank you!
