Through the Colby Commitment, we meet 100 percent of each student's demonstrated financial need without loans. Families earning up to $60,000 with typical assets can expect a parent or guardian contribution of $0, and families earning up to $150,000 with typical assets will have a parent or guardian contribution of no more than $15,000.

DavisConnects furthers our commitment to eliminating barriers by guaranteeing access to global experiences for all students, regardless of their ability to pay. Partnerships with leading employers and renowned graduate schools enhance opportunities for meaningful internships and research endeavors, and an innovative academic program anchored to the world’s complex challenges positions students to make a significant impact in the field of their choosing. Approximately 95 percent of the Class of 2017 was employed or in graduate school within six months of graduation.

Earlier today we announced an expansion of our financial aid policies so families with a total household income of $65,000 and typical assets will now have a parent or guardian contribution of $0. The policy, which will be available for all entering and current Colby students beginning next academic year, is made possible through a significant gift from Michael E. Koester ’94 and his wife, André R. Koester.

Colby is one of only a handful of schools to meet 100 percent of demonstrated financial need without loans—providing students the opportunity to graduate without student loan debt. Additionally, through the Fair Shot Fund, families earning up to $150,000 with typical assets can expect a parent or guardian contribution of $15,000 or less. We encourage you to explore MyinTuition, our quick cost calculator that allows families to estimate their Colby cost in less than 90 seconds.

Through the Colby Commitment, we've streamlined our application process to level the playing field for the most talented students from all backgrounds. It is free to apply for all students and there are no extra essays or writing supplements to submit. New research from a team of scientists led by Colby College professor and geologist Robert Gastaldo has revealed the most definitive proof to date that a near-instantaneous marine and terrestrial end-Permian mass extinction did not occur simultaneously. The important findings have significant implications on the impact of a future biosphere crisis driven by climate change and a warming planet. The research team, which included students from Colby, came to this conclusion after examining placement of fossil remains in the rock layers of South Africa's Karoo Basin.
