Get a snapshot of their lockdown life and tips for what''s getting them through. They might discuss their passions, inspirations, share a poem, play a song or simply chat. Every Lockdown Live is different and we''re keen to give it over to the artists with how they want to greet us.

Lockdown Live will run 10-30 minutes and we invite viewers to tune in and ask questions. Circa Theatre and TACT are proud to be support artists with these initiatives in this financially difficult time.

Our first guest is Thom Monckton, whose work at Circa has included The Pianist and The Artist, the latter of which was originally scheduled to be currently onstage.

The team from Canvas Abyss will be bringing you mythic fantasy adventure every Sunday afternoon at 4:30pm from 26th July to 30th August.

Circa Theatre is so proud of the leadership of the New Zealand government as Aotearoa moves to Level 2 on Thursday. We hope you enjoy a "quick hug with your mates" as much as we will.

Circa productions are still on hold under Level 2 as we prepare for our opening in the future. In the interim we''re continuing our initiatives like Lockdown Live and our commissioned work. The building will be used by some staff who require access to materials in the building.

We''ll also slowly begin to get artists back in the building to rehearse in preparation to put on a show for audiences when we''re able. Our teams will be following all of the health guidelines and we''ll be following a strict sign in and sign out process for staff and contractors.

The Circa Theatre cafe is currently assessing the situation and we'll let the public know when plans are to reopen.

A scientist, an activist, a Marine, and one huge HOLE

In 1985 the world wakes to the discovery of the ozone hole over Antarctica.

It's Wild West days at McMurdo Station and Scott Base. It's little more than a decade since the US Navy lifted their ban on women travelling to the ice. Stella, a NZ scientist, Ioane, a US marine from American Samoa, and Bonny, a Greenpeace activist, meet during one Antarctic summer. What unfolds is as dark, funny and monumental as the discovery of the ozone hole itself.The second play in Lynda Chanwai-Earle's Antarctic Trilogy, HOLE builds on the innovative use of green-powered energy as used in the award-winning HEAT.
