Together with Austrian Rail Services (ÖBB) CAT has also been supporting afforestation projects in Costa Rica and in the Austrian Wienerwald region. Since 2011 more than 1000 trees have been planted.

Also Vienna Airport is making a valuable contribution to environmental protection. Due to several measures that have been taken over the last 8 years 70% of carbon dioxides per passenger and 40% of energy consumption have already been saved.
 

The Austrian Galleries Belvedere are always worth a visit. The train is delayed – the plane has departed? The CAT Travel Guarantee makes sure that travellers reach their destination: CAT customers who miss their flight due to delay of more than 30 minutes of the airport express train will be reimbursed the costs of a new plane ticket. Should the new booking require an overnight stay, the CAT also covers the costs for hotel and taxi.

The reimbursement process was designed as simple as possible: copies of the CAT ticket, the expired flight ticket and the new flight ticket have to be sent to the CAT customer service, who will swiftly arrange the refund.

With the new offer, CAT guarantees its customers a completely carefree journey to the airport. However, an important condition for the right to compensation is the timely arrival at the airport: travellers must set the departure time with the City Airport Train from Wien Mitte so that they arrive at the airport one hour before departure.

The CAT city check-In: check in and drop your baggage off in the city center

Europe's only city check-In

In addition to our staffed check-in counters CAT also offers its passengers a self-baggage drop-off in the city center. This free service is available for passengers of Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa, Eurowings, Swiss and Brussels Airlines, Aeroflot, Peoples and many more with a valid CAT ticket. Travelers of these airlines can already check in their luggage at the CAT Terminal Wien Mitte and continue their journey to the airport with hand luggage only.

With only two steps, the handling of the self-bag drop-off is easy to use and the check-in is done quickly. Step 1: Go to one of the check-in kiosks and print your boarding pass and baggage label. Attach the baggage label to your suitcase and then make your way to the baggage drop-off area.

Step 2: Place the luggage on the conveyor belt. Please scan the barcode on the baggage label with the handheld reader. After that, the luggage will be carried away automatically.

The CAT City Check-In has the full functionality of an airport terminal and allows check-in at the counter and at the drop off kiosks, printing of the boarding pass and baggage check-in.

Also within our administrative staff we value diversity. At the City Airport Train’s headquarters at Vienna Airport we have employees from Austria, Germany, Slovakia, Spain and Bulgaria. 

Since Monday, February 3rd, Lauda, already the second largest carrier at Vienna Airport, offers its city check-in service in Wien Mitte.

All Lauda passengers can drop off their baggage in Wien Mitte as soon as they have checked in online and have received a valid boarding pass. The baggage drop-off for a flight with Lauda is availabe 24 hours up to 120 minutes before departure. The Lauda baggage drop-off counter is open daily from 6am to 8pm.
(Please note that there is no night-before check-in!)

For all other airlines that offer a check-in service at Wien Mitte, like Austrian Airlines, Eurowings, Lufthansa, Aeroflot, Croatia Airlines, Luxair, Peoples, TAP Portugal, Brussels Airlines, Rossiya Airlines and Swiss, passengers can still check-in, receive their boarding passes and drop off their baggage.

For the night-before check-in from 6pm on CAT clients receive a free parking ticket for 60 minutes for the shopping center The Mall. Please ask the train attendant on duty at the info-desk in Wien Mitte.

At the Austrian Airlines check-in counter CAT clients can also buy  or rebook tickets.
