COVID-19 Update

Q Is BrickFair Virginia still on?

A Yes, BrickFair VA is still on, but...

Final status will be announced June 12th.

The State of Virginia''s venue limit of 10-persons expires June 10.  If VA does not extend that rule beyond June 10 then we are looking forward to announcing BrickFair VA is on.

Look for a final update News e-blast on June 12.

AL 2021 on Tour

Alabama 2021 is on the schedule!  We''re on our usual MLK weekend.

The hotel rate is $124/night.  We''re gonna be in East Halls 2 & 3, which provides us about the same space as used this year.  We''ll have a neighboring convention in East 1.

Help us celebrate BrickFair''s 10th year in Alabama!

Trick Or Treat

With BrickFair New Jersey this year falling on Halloween weekend (Halloween is Saturday) we''ll be offering in-show trick-or-treating for our public guests both Saturday and Sunday.

Dress up, bring your own bag, and we''ll provide the fun and candy!

Trick or treating for children only please.

Another Coronavirus Email

Q How will the COVID-19 Coronavirus affect BrickFair Virginia this August?

A We are hoping the virus is less vigilant than our government.  We realize that''s a long shot, but our fingers are crossed.

There are currently no plans to cancel BrickFair Virginia.

Some exhibitors may drop out over viral fears.  But our VA show is so large (almost 1,100 exhibitors) that we still anticipate a great show.  If enough exhibitors cancel we may gain space for the return of our bounce houses.

BrickFair has Purell hand sanitizer stations at all of our hands-on interactive builds for your protection.

For now stay home, stay safe, and hopefully we''ll see you in August.

Book Hotel Directly

The Holiday Inn has decided this year to take room reservations the old fashioned way.  To book your room, call the hotel directly or visit their website using our special link found at www.BrickFair.com/Travel/.

The current room rate is $129.  Our group rate is $119.  Holiday Inn club members rate is $114 (without our group code).

The few AFOLs who booked early on BrickFair''s website have already been contacted by the Holiday Inn to complete their reservations.

New Standard Badges

The badge change you see on your account page is intentional.  BrickFair will now have a standard badge across all events.

The colors shown online may not match the badges used at the event.  You''ll have to see when you arrive.  The 1x1 bricks might also differ.

A surprise, to be sure.  But a welcome one!

BrickFair Virginia Canceled :(

Friends, I am sorry to report that BF/VA 2020 is canceled.

Virginia''s lockdown limits our venue to 50 people maximum whereas we typically host 1,100 exhibitors and vendors.  While it''s possible VA may ease their restrictions in the next 6 weeks, we really wouldn''t know for certain until showtime was upon us.  And people (our exhibitors and vendors) do need time to plan; BrickFair is not a show we can whip together in a week.

Moreover, I fear there is no safe way to host this show right now.  Even if Virginia did loosen the rules, the Coronavirus doesn''t rest.

Those who already paid, your public tickets and exhibitor registrations will be applied to BF/VA''21.  Immediate refunds are available upon request.  I will email these early payers directly over this weekend as I process this change.

VA 2021 is already scheduled and in our system.  That expo will appear on our website, www.BrickFair.com, next week, after BF/VA''20 has been removed - this reduces web user confusion.

At present, BrickFair New Jersey is still on.  We now turn our focus to that show and the COVID status there.  Alas, the U.S. upper East cost is the area hardest hit by the virus, so the fate of that show is still uncertain.

I am eager to see my LEGO friends again, my annual friends.  But I don''t want to kill them with my breathing.  Let''s all take this opportunity to thank ourselves for being safe and healthy and sensible.  There will be other conventions and other exhibitions.  We will meet again.

Alabama 2021 Cancelled

We regretfully announce that BrickFair Alabama 2021 is cancelled.  Alabama 2022 is on the schedule and on the website, on our usual MLK weekend.

Our next scheduled show - fingers crossed - is Virginia in August 2021.

Be calm and be safe.  We will see you on the other side of Covid.
