BetTurtle New Features

Good Morning,

We have added a couple of new features to help you study race form more easily and quickly.

Improvements to our filtering system
Additional help on the race card that explains the various icons, colours and terms BetTurtle uses

We will be working over Xmas to bring further improvements to the application. These will include:

Improved Filtering

We are pleased to announce that we have improved the BetTurtle Horse filtering system. When you apply filters to a race, we now also filter the stats tables (available via the Stats button). This makes it much easier to focus on only the horses you are interested in a race. Horses that are binned (using the bin icon to the left of the saddle number) will also no longer be included in the stats.

If you want to see the stats for all non-binned runners, then click the All Stats button.

Help Improvements

On each race card we have now added links (Help Tips) that when clicked will provide lots of useful information on the icons, colours and terms used throughout BetTurtle.

Below is a a visual guide to some of the other information you can easily access by clicking around the links and icons on any BetTurtle race card.

Create Your Own System

We recent told you all about a system we had been trialling to find big priced winners.

In the past 3 weeks the system, has found 5 winners from 23 selections at SP prices of 20/1, 12/1, 10/1, 10/1 and 3/1 providing a �370 profit with �10 stakes.

The filters we have applied for this system are as follows:

1) A BetTurtle Tip

2) Odds 10.0 (9/1) or greater

3) Pick Rank 1

4) Conditions Amber or Red Horseshoe

5) Ability Green or Amber Horseshoe

With a BetTurtle subscription you can automate the above rules by creating an Automated system that will keep track of the selections each day, back test the system and keep track of tips history and profitability stats.

To do this follow these steps;

1) Under the Systems Menu select Create New System

2) Name the System something like "Big Priced BT Tips"

3) Set BetTurtle Tip - Yes (deselect the No)

4) Set Odds (decimal) - 10 to 1000

5) Set Pick Rank - 1 to 1

6) Set Ability Horseshoe - Green and Amber (deselect Red)

7) Set Conditions Horseshoe - Amber and Red (deselect Green)

8) Click Save and wait a few seconds/minutes.

9) Under the Systems menu you should then find the new system with a table like below when you click the Stats tab.

Subscribers now have two new colour schemes to choose from (blue/light and grey/dark) and the option to view odds in decimal or traditional format. You can make the changes by visiting your profile page.

On each race card we have added links (Help Tips) that when clicked will provide lots of useful information on the icons, colours and terms used throughout BetTurtle (most links only work on Desktops/PCs as they can be annoying on touch screens).

BetTurtle New Features

Good Morning,

We have added some extra features to BetTurtle this week.

1) Extra Card and System Filters

You can now filter on the Form and Speed ratings colours (green is good, amber is okay and red is poor).

Filter on whether a horse has been placed at today's handicap mark or higher.

2) Extra Stats on the Ratings Page

You can now check how many times a horse has been placed at today's handicap mark or higher and the highest mark the horse has been placed at. Visit the Stats-Ratings tab to view this.

3) Extra Graphical Information for Horse Conditions

On the Stats-Conditions page you can now click the numeric values and you will see a graph appear showing additional conditions information, such as the range of distances or going types a horse has run over with wins/runs performance comparisons.

Help Required for Race Card, Horse and System Filters

Yesterday we announced some new filters we have added to BetTurtle.

All Basic, Enhanced and Pro subscribers can now use over 50 statistics to filter race cards and use to automate and backtest their own systems.

We would like your opinion on the filters you would like us to add next, based on your subscription level.

Mail us with the Top 3 Filters you would like us to add next and we will add the most popular this week.

New Statistics

Basic and Enhanced subscribers can download 131 statistics and Pro subscribers 250 statistics from today's and past race cards.

Today we have added 13 new statistics for our Pro Subscribers to download in the BetTurtle Downloads section.

If you are a Pro subscriber you have access to 2 hours of developer time a month. So why not use it to ask us to create new statistics or filters for you. Email julia@betturtle.com if you want to discuss any development requests.

Tip of The Day

When you apply a BetTurtle filter on any race card, you can go to the Cards-Search Runners page and view all of the horses that meet this criteria in one table with lots of additional data. Click the hearts to shortlist the selections and you can then view them on your Shortlist page. The Shortlist page, allows you to keep track of your selections, results and profitability and many of our customers love this feature.

Please be patient, as if there are a lot of runners, it may take a few seconds for the Search Runners page to load.

BetTurtle New Feature

Good Morning,

We have added a Summary Stats link to all BetTurtle racecards. This provides a summary table of all the essential information you need to quickly find the horses best suited to today''s conditions. Click the information (horse name, trainer and jockey name, odds, the stats themselves to see even more information).

This new feature is available to all Basic, Enhanced and Professional subscribers.

Simply click the Summary Stats link for the information to appear and click the link again to hide it.

The image below illustrates the new feature.

80:20 Rule To Winner Finding

Last week we shared some tips on how to use BetTurtle filters to apply the 80:20 rule to create a shortlist of horses in a race with a high chance of winning. The feedback from customers has been great, so here are the details below again for those that may have missed it.

At BetTurtle we realise that horse racing can be random at times and studying form and can take a lot of time.

We therefore apply the 80:20 rule (also known as Paretos Principle) to help us quickly find the horses each day to focus on using BetTurtle filters.

We thought we would share with you the filters we use that help us find the list of horses that on average will provide 80% of the winners each day.

As you can see in the images below, if you set your BetTurtle race card filters to the highlighted values you can apply the 80:20 rule yourself.

To do this:

1) Visit the Races-Search Runners page or one of the BetTurtle race cards.

2) Click the Horse filter button (see image below).

3) Click the Reset Button to clear existing filters.

4) Set the following values:

Pick Rank: 1 to 5

Odds Rank: 1 to 5

Red Shoes: 0 to 2

5) Click Apply.

The list will refresh (may take a few second). When you visit the racecards the filter will automatically apply and only the horses meeting the filter criteria will be shown.

You can then analyse the shortlist of candidates much more quickly and easily using the BetTurtle Form and Statistical data to make your selections (click the Heart symbol to add your choices to your Shortlist).

For example, today we have applied these filters and 2/3rds of today''s runners have been excluded. A great time saver to winner finding.

Find Horse Racing Winners The Easy Way

Create A Profitable Horse Racing System

Horseshoe Ratings

BetTurtle Horseshoe ratings are the secret sauce behind BetTurtle. We use machine learning and dozens of data points to calculate the horseshoe ratings for each horse. You can use these ratings in racecard and automated systems.

Top Tip: Setting systems and filters to only include horses with 2 or more green horseshoes can quickly show the main contenders in each race to focus on.

Top Tip: Setting systems and filters to include only horses with 2 or less red horseshoes can eliminate unlikely winners too.

Top Tip: As can be seen from the individual horseshoe stats, a green horseshoe for fitness and conditions is a big positive.

Horses with amber market horseshoes may offer betting value over the horses that are heavily backed (green horseshoes), as their strike rate is similar.

Red horseshoes should be a major warning sign and only worth risking at bigger prices (they do win sometimes).

Form and Speed Ratings

BetTurtle Form and Speed ratings are as good as you will find. Every day, we assign a form and speed ranking to each horse.

Below are the strike rates for Form and Speed rankings and tips on how to use these to best effect.

Top Tip: Using system and filters to select Horses in the Top 2 rank for Speed and Form can often find big priced winners.

Picks and Tips

BetTurtle Tips are the daily tipping selections our tipsters have made (available from 6am each day). BetTurtle Live Racing Picks are updated throughout the racing day as market news and racecourse vibes are available.

Top Tip: Using Picks and Tips in systems and filters is a great strategy. Many of our subscribers use these everyday and generate considerable profits when combined with other filters such as horseshoes, top trainers, number of runners, etc.

Trainers and Jockeys

Knowing trainers and jockeys that are in form and have high strike rates in different types of races is another profitable angle many of our subscribers use.

Top Tip: BetTurtle highlights trainers and jockeys (yellow comet icon on the racecard) that have a high strike rate in today''s race type. As you can see, the stats show a pretty good strike rate, often at big prices.

Top Tip: Look out for trainers and jockeys in a race with the red backgrounds (means they are in form) and the yellow comet symbol (means they have a high strike rate in this race type).

Pay very close attention to horses with the full house of hot trainer and jockey with high strike rates as is the case in the image above. You can use systems and filters to pinpoint these horse.

Alternatively use the in form jockey or in form trainer pointers to quickly find contenders.

Click The Hearts and Other Items

On each racecard a horse will have some icons next to their names. These are extremely powerful and we recommend you use them.

BetTurtle New Features and Videos

Past Racing Results

Enhanced and Professional subscribers are now able to go back in time with our race cards. On the main racecard menu you can now change the racecard date to the past (and the future). This allows you to view previous days cards with all the results, form and stats for that days racing.

It is a great way to practice race analysis, spot trends and patterns.

Good Morning,

We have added another new feature for our Enhanced and Professional subscribers and created additional short videos to help all of our subscribers learn how to get the most out of BetTurtle.

New Feature - Race Runners Next Race

All subscribers can access details of the strength of a previous race from the Form Button on a race card.

1. Click Form button and select Form tab.

2. Click the date of any race to see details of the next outings for each of the runners.

For enhanced and advanced subscribers we have added a new feature, you can access a list of next races for each of the horses that ran in the race.

This provides a more detailed guide to the winners, placed and losing horses next time out. It also shows the type and class of race they ran in and the ratings they achieved. This is a great way to see how good the horse in question may be.

80:20 Rule

The 80:20 rule uses three BetTurtle filters to reduce the number of runners to focus on each racing day. On average, the remaining runners account for 80% of the winners each race day.

The 3 Filter rules are:

1) Pick Rank 1 to 5

2) Odds Rank 1 to 5

3) Red Shoes 0 to 2

Remember pick ranks, odd ranks and red horseshoes can change throughout the racing day, so this works best as close to off time as possible.

80:20 Rule To Winner Finding

We recently shared some tips on how to use BetTurtle filters to apply the 80:20 rule to create a shortlist of horses in a race with a high chance of winning. The feedback from customers has been great, so here are the details below again for those that may have missed it.

At BetTurtle we realise that horse racing can be random at times and studying form and can take a lot of time.

We therefore apply the 80:20 rule (also known as Paretos Principle) to help us quickly find the horses each day to focus on using BetTurtle filters.

We thought we would share with you the filters we use that help us find the list of horses that on average will provide 80% of the winners each day.

As you can see in the images below, if you set your BetTurtle race card filters to the highlighted values you can apply the 80:20 rule yourself.

To do this:

1) Visit the Races-Search Runners page or one of the BetTurtle race cards.

2) Click the Horse filter button (see image below).

3) Click the Reset Button to clear existing filters.

4) Set the following values:

Pick Rank: 1 to 5

Odds Rank: 1 to 5

Red Shoes: 0 to 2

5) Click Apply.

The list will refresh (may take a few second). When you visit the racecards the filter will automatically apply and only the horses meeting the filter criteria will be shown.

You can then analyse the shortlist of candidates much more quickly and easily using the BetTurtle Form and Statistical data to make your selections (click the Heart symbol to add your choices to your Shortlist).

For example, today we have applied these filters and 2/3rds of today''s runners have been excluded. A great time saver to winner finding.

Click The Hearts and Other Icons

On each racecard a horse will have some icons next to their names. These are extremely powerful and we recommend you use them often.

Click the heart to add the horse to your shortlist (the number to the write indicates how many other subscribers have shortlisted the horse). You can view all your shortlisted horses and keep track of results, strike rates and profits in Tips-My Shortlist.

Click the contacts icon to add a horse to your horses to follow list.

The yellow book (enhanced or pro subscribers only) are horses we have added to our own Notebook that we think will be winning soon.

Improved Filtering

We are pleased to announce that we have improved the BetTurtle Horse filtering system. When you apply filters to a race, we now also filter the stats tables (available via the Stats button). Horses that are binned (using the bin icon to the left of the saddle number) will also no longer be included in the stats.

If you want to see the stats for all non-binned runners, then click the All Stats button.

Betting Angle Analysis

A number of customers frequently ask our advice on how to make best use of the unique BetTurtle Filter and automated systems capabilities. With so many variations and possibilities to combine filters, this is a hard question to answer.

The good news is that several of our customers have figured the answers out for themselves and are operating highly profitable systems. While we won''t be sharing their secrets, as we always fully respect our customers confidentiality, we will provide some insights on some of the filters that you may want to consider using as the basis for your own systems.

Top Jockeys and Trainers

From analysis we have shared previously, following hot jockeys and trainers will improve winning strike rates, but not necessarily profitability. This is because the betting market takes into account in form trainers and jockeys and they often go off at prohibitive odds.

However, BetTurtle not only provides filters on jockey and trainer current form, but we also provide filters to show the Top performing jockeys and trainers in a race type. This information is much harder for the general betting public to discover.

Below you can see the difference in performance for Top performing jockeys and trainers in terms of strike rate and profitability. How could you add some additional filters to improve strike rates and profitability even further?

Placed and Handicap Mark

Horses that have won at todays handicap mark or better are often popular in the betting market. Information is widely available to the betting public on previous winning ratings, however, harder to find is whether a horse has placed at today''s mark or better. This can provide valuable insights and BetTurtle allows you to use this information in system filters.

If you can beat SP prices using early bookmaker prices or using the Exchanges then this filter on it''s own could provide significant profits. What other filters could be used to improve things further?

BetTurtle Tips

While we continually work hard to improve our tipping performance, some of our tip types are performing much better than others. Enhanced and Pro subscribers can now apply filters on their systems for BetTurtle tip sub categories. As you can see there are some clear opportunities for profit below. Could applying one or two of these tip subcategories to your existing system boost profits?

Beaten Favourites

Horses that started favourites and were beaten in their last race, can offer value next time out, as the market often underestimates them. As you can see from the table below beaten favourites have a high strike rate next time out. What other filters could be applied to help turn a slight SP loss into a source of profit?

Basics Filters To Use

It is clear from our data analysis that our horseshoe system and pick ranks can really help filter down the main contenders in a race.

Here are a couple of rules to apply to any system you operate.

Use form and pick rank filters focussing on the top 5.
Ensure a horse has at least 1 green horseshoe and no more than 2 reds are good strategies to employ.

The tables below show how this advice works out statistically.

Racing Is Back

Good Morning,

Racing resumes in the UK today with one meeting from Newcastle and a gradual build up of meetings throughout the week.

Newcastle Pointers

Newcastle has 10 races and with plenty of unexposed horses and horses coming back from layoffs, finding winners may prove difficult.

A tactic worth considering is to focus on trainers and jockeys that do well at the course and in certain types of races.

This is where the BetTurtle Top Trainer and Top Jockeys filters can aid.

To try this feature;

1) Under the Races Menu select Search Runners.

2) Click the Horses Filter Button.

3) Deselect the No button against Top Trainer and Top Jockey and then scroll down and click the Apply Button.

4) After a few seconds a list of runners will appear (see image below).

5) Click the Trainer and Jockey names and you will see various strike rate stats.

6) Notice that Karl Burke and Ben Curtis have a T/J 29% strike rate at the course when they combine (click Ben Curtis).

7) Click John Gosden and you will see he has a 35% course strike rate.

8) Click the Heart next to the horses you are interested in and they will appear in your Shortlist (accessed from Tips-My Shortlist Menu) where you can keep track of results and profitability stats.

Please note that when you set a filter in BetTurtle it will take effect on all racecards, so please reset or change filters as required if you want to see more horses on a racecard.

We recommend you test out filter ideas using the Search Runners page, as this will allow you to see the impact your filters have across the days/tomorrow''s racing. You can then visit each racecard for further analysis.

Post Lockdown Update

We will be offering a full service and have re-activated all subscriptions, as we froze them during the lockdown period to ensure our customers did not lose out. We look forward to welcoming back existing and new members to BetTurtle.

Tip of The Day

When you apply a BetTurtle filter on any race card, you can go to the Cards-Search Runners page and view all of the horses that meet this criteria in one table with lots of additional data. Click the hearts to shortlist the selections and you can then view them on your Shortlist page. The Shortlist page, allows you to keep track of your selections, results and profitability and many of our customers love this feature.

BetTurtle New Features

Good Morning,

Yesterday it was announced that horse racing in the UK will not take place until at least May, due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

To ensure no BetTurtle subscriber loses out, we will freeze current subscriptions from today and will resume subscriptions once racing restarts.

We thought we would share with you the filters we use that help us find the list of horses that on average will provide 80% of the winners each day.

As you can see in the images below, if you set your BetTurtle race card filters to the highlighted values you can apply the 80:20 rule yourself.

To do this:

1) Visit the Races-Search Runners page or one of the BetTurtle race cards.

2) Click the Horse filter button (see image below).

3) Click the Reset Button to clear existing filters.

4) Set the following values:

Pick Rank: 1 to 5

Odds Rank: 1 to 5

Red Shoes: 0 to 2

5) Click Apply.

The list will refresh (may take a few second). When you visit the racecards the filter will automatically apply and only the horses meeting the filter criteria will be shown.

You can then analyse the shortlist of candidates much more quickly and easily using the BetTurtle Form and Statistical data to make your selections (click the Heart symbol to add your choices to your Shortlist).

For example, today we have applied these filters and 2/3rds of today''s runners have been excluded. A great time saver to winner finding.

BetTurtle - New Feature and Tip Analysis

Good Morning,

Today we provide an update on some improvements we have made to BetTurtle and statistical insights on using BetTurtle tips to help with filtering and automated system strategies.

We have added a new feature to BetTurtle, following a number of subscriber requests, to help find trainers and jockeys with one runner at a race meeting. The perceived wisdom is that they can often point to a horse expected to go well.

Instead of focussing on all trainers and jockeys with one runner (it is often a big list) we have focussed on in form and top trainers and jockeys. You can access the new pointer report - One Runner Trainer/Jockey from the Pointer menu. We have also added a yellow eye icon to the jockey and trainer names where they have only one ride/runner (only for Top and in form jockeys and trainers).

We have also been working hard on improving the performance of BetTurtle and you should find the Search Runners and Pointer reports now load much faster.

Tipping Analysis

BetTurtle Website tips have achieved a strike of 28% in the past 90 days and included winners up to 50/1. However, making a consistent profit is hard when tipping in every race and a more selective approach can reap significant rewards.

Many of our shrewd subscribers use BetTurtle tips as a basis for applying filters and creating automated systems. To help you find some more profitable angles using BetTurtle Tips, below are some of the statistics from our most popular filters you may wish to consider using.

Tips By Race Type

No surprise that our strike rate is not as good in handicap races considering how difficult they are to find winners in, however, a 24.23% strike is not bad.

The Other category with a strike rate of 37.22% is worth exploring, especially at value prices.

Tips By Hot and Cold Trainers

The strike rate with Hot Trainers is impressive at 35.81%, but our Cold Trainer strike rate when we do tip them is pretty good at 25.14% and these tips often at big prices.

Tips By Hot and Cold Jockeys

As with Trainers, Hot Jockeys have an impressive strike rate, but Cold jockeys (especially when riding for Hot Trainers) do pretty well too and often at decent odds.

Tips By Number of Runners

It is clear our tips do better in smaller fields, however, a 19.33% strike rate with races with 16 runners or more is more than reasonable too.

However, races with 12 runners or less could be a decent sweet spot to focus on.

Tips By Vibes Horseshoe

When the vibes are good for one of our tips, then the strike rate is impressive. However, when the vibes go red you should be wary.

Tip By Ability Horseshoe

Not much to choose between Green and Amber tip strike rates for the ability horseshoe. However, horses marked red should be avoided (although in fairness we don''t tip too many of these).

Tips By Fitness Horseshoe

A green fitness horseshoe has an impressive strike rate, but a red horseshoe is one to avoid.

Tips By Market Horseshoe

When there is strong market support for our tips they have a very impressive 41.07% strike rate. However, when the odds drift significantly then caution is advised.

Tips By Conditions Horseshoe

It is clear that the focus should be on Green and Amber horseshoes when it comes to race conditions.

80:20 Rule To Winner Finding

We recently shared some tips on how to use BetTurtle filters to apply the 80:20 rule to create a shortlist of horses in a race with a high chance of winning. The feedback from customers has been great, so here are the details below again for those that may have missed it.

At BetTurtle we realise that horse racing can be random at times and studying form and can take a lot of time.

We therefore apply the 80:20 rule (also known as Paretos Principle) to help us quickly find the horses each day to focus on using BetTurtle filters.

We thought we would share with you the filters we use that help us find the list of horses that on average will provide 80% of the winners each day.

Click The Hearts and Other Icons

On each racecard a horse will have some icons next to their names. These are extremely powerful and we recommend you use them often.

Click the heart to add the horse to your shortlist (the number to the write indicates how many other subscribers have shortlisted the horse). You can view all your shortlisted horses and keep track of results, strike rates and profits in Tips-My Shortlist.

Click the contacts icon to add a horse to your horses to follow list.

The yellow book (enhanced or pro subscribers only) are horses we have added to our own Notebook that we think will be winning soon.

On each race card we have added links (Help Tips) that when clicked will provide lots of useful information on the icons, colours and terms used throughout BetTurtle (most links only work on Desktops/PCs as they can be annoying on touch screens).

Improved Filtering

We are pleased to announce that we have improved the BetTurtle Horse filtering system. When you apply filters to a race, we now also filter the stats tables (available via the Stats button). This makes it much easier to focus on only the horses you are interested in a race. Horses that are binned (using the bin icon to the left of the saddle number) will also no longer be included in the stats.

If you want to see the stats for all non-binned runners, then click the All Stats button.

The race and horse filtering tools are very powerful and are well worth learning to use, as they can cut down form study time greatly.

If races or horses don''t appear as you expect, please remember to reset or change your filters.

Trainer and Jockey Statistics

On any BetTurtle race card, click the Form button and you will find detailed horse, trainer and jockey statistics.

BetTurtle Colour and Odds Options

Subscribers now have several new colour schemes to choose from (blue/light is the default) and the option to view odds in decimal or traditional format. You can make the changes by visiting your profile page.

BetTurtle Is Back

Good Morning,

Racing resumes in the UK tomorrow with one meeting from Newcastle and a gradual build up of meetings throughout the week. You can access tomorrow''s card from the main Racecard Menu and then click the Tomorrow tab.

We will be offering a full service and have re-activated all subscriptions, as we froze them during the lockdown period to ensure our customers did not lose out. We look forward to welcoming back existing and new members to BetTurtle.

Tip of The Day

When you apply a BetTurtle filter on any race card, you can go to the Cards-Search Runners page and view all of the horses that meet this criteria in one table with lots of additional data. Click the hearts to shortlist the selections and you can then view them on your Shortlist page. The Shortlist page, allows you to keep track of your selections, results and profitability and many of our customers love this feature.

Please be patient, as if there are a lot of runners, it may take a few seconds for the Search Runners page to load.
