Coronavirus Update
Things seem to have stabilized here and I have been using the US Postal Service pickup option successfully for the past week. As long as they continue to offer it I will be able to maintain shipping.
So far southern California has been pretty lucky. At the moment we have fewer cases than northern California and the state as a whole is not suffering what New York and the surrounding area is going through. If that trend holds I think I can continue operating in this modified fashion until the stay at home orders are lifted.
I will let everyone know if anything changes but for now if you place an order it should ship within 1-2 days (weekends excluded).
I am still not shipping internationally except for Canada and I will hold international orders until the shipping situation improves.
Used Model Release Schedule
Since shipping seems to be stable for the time being I am going to go ahead and schedule the next used model release for noon Pacific Time on Friday April 17th. This may be delayed or canceled due to events beyond my control.
New From Rhenania
Norbert Brocher of Rhenania has been keeping busy preparing a new model which can be any of five Grimaldi Lines RoRo ships.
Due to the number of variations possible these will be offered as special order only. I will not stock them. If you want one you will need to email.
Available will be-
- RHE 186A Grande Amburgo 2002
- RHE 186B Grande Buenos Aires 2004
- RHE 186C Grande Francia 2002
- RHE 186D Grande Nigeria 2003
- RHE 186E Grande San Paolo 2003
All these are identical save for the name decals.
Each can be ordered in two variations-
- "Normal" condition with no deck load (as pictured above)
- With 3 part deck load set which contains
- Container block for the fore deck
- Second hand car park for rear upper deck
- 5 tank car 20' container block
Finally you can order with two stern ramps, one open and one closed. Neither will be glued to the model allowing you to configure the model in an "in port" condition.
The deck load can be on either version.
The normal version is $169.00 and the two ramp version (Option ED) is $175.00.
Deck load (Option Z) adds $44.00.
Norbert wants everyone to know that these are time consuming to produce and he is slower than normal due to recent surgery on his shoulder. Please be patient on delivery. As per my usual policy nothing will be due until the models are ready to ship to you.

Navis-Neptun Update
I had the chance to talk to Rudi Kraus over the weekend. They are able to continue production for the time being. I will be re-ordering to keep our Navis-Neptun stock as complete as possible but nothing will be sent until the shipping situation across the Atlantic has returned to something closer to normal.
I did receive the last shipment from Navis-Netpun sent before the shutdown. Most notably it had British Neptun cruisers and destroyers which had been out of stock.
